Basically, a bunch of students found elemental stones a year ago but now they discover there is a purpose to this. It was no mere coincidance that the school was the epicenter of the "fallout". The school grouds are the door to another world, the stones the key to both that and the saviour of a race known as the Gaians (yeah alright - I like Escaflowne a lot okay!). However the stones were sent ahead of time so the chosen warriors could get used to their ablities a little first.

Background: Once a girl average in every way, aside from her looks and IQ, Miranda's life changed when a strange stone she found in the school fountain altered her body and gave her control of the Water element. She keeps the stone inside her body, close to her heart, so no one can see it.
