Preface..........I'm currently seeking an excuse to roleplay a good 'ol brawl situation, and I'm using an old-skool DnD style setting to put it in. You are welcome to join at any time, although it is suggested that you hop in as soon as possible, since I'm not really the sort to enjoy sudden entrances by random characters, especially in the middle of a dungeon. I'm attempting to make this as simple as possible. All kinds of literacy is welcome. By literacy, I mean ability to read, write, and spell properly with minimal gramatical errors. I don't care if you do one-line per post, or a whole chapter of writing. However, it is common courtesy to respond to a heckava long post with something in kind, or at least attempt to.
-Psy Rules Please read the rules. No txt tlk please. If you txt tlk at all in my presence, you are insta-blacklisted. Even in OOC. PM all profiles to me. You must write in a legible format. Follow the Gaia TOS This is a high fantasy RP, and you will keep in with the setting (Since this is a roleplaying guild, I'm expecting that the unwritten rules of roleplaying will also be followed.) Storyline..........A minor noble in one of the far reaches of the Kingdom had discovered an area rich in gold, minerals, and even jewels near the high mountains. Attempting to exploit the sudden oppurtunity, he rapidly dug out, and expanded the mines there. No matter how deep he ordered his workers to dig, there always seemed to be a neverending supply of the minerals that brought in the wealth that his fief was lacking. However, one year after the discovery of the mine, something odd happened. One of the miners began saying outlandish things, and eventually disappeared. This continued on for months, and greatly thinned the ranks of the miners as they disappeared, and as others left. Troubled by the turn of events, the noble has sent out a call for help to anyone who would listen.

ProfilesDon't be intimidated by the profile. It doesn't have to be very long at all.Username | Name |
Magical ability | Skills & feats | Weapons / Arms |
Personality | Description | LINK to all pictures, and you MUST have an accompanying description. Short Biography |
Other |
Sample | ] Username | Psychopath Fool Name | Rendri 'Hawk' Tane
Magical ability | His magical ability is very limited, but he is able to use magic to control the area around his body, and enhance his own skills, sharpen his senses, and give him superhuman traits. However, the aftermath of using that magic leaves him physically drained afterwards. Skills & feats | Rendri is a duelist, and as such, he is a trained swordsman in one-on-one style. He is also a literate, educated man, educated in court life, owing to his noble upbringing, and is able to read and write with ease. He is also an avid hunter, and is skilled with the bow and arrows. Weapons / Arms | Ever since the incident with the assasin, Rendri always carries a weapon with him wherever he goes. However, his weapon of choice is the duelist's blade, which is a rather long, delicate blade, unsuited for practical use. He owns a bow, two swords, and several ceremonial daggers.
Personality | Rendri always looks out for things that will benifit himself. Very rarely will he go out of his way to help someone from pure goodwill. The friends he had are few are far between, and he is generally the sort that people wish to avoid. He tends towards black moods & broods often. He almost always think things through thoroughly before acting on them, and dislike not being let in on a secret. Since he was young, he had become accustomed towards assuming positions of power, and tends to get irritated if people do not act on his commands. [SORRY for not getting this up yet! Profiles don't like me very much.] Description | Short Biography |

*****
Username | Sum Guy Name | Kel
Magical ability | N/A Skills & feats | As the son of a farmer, Kel can plow (either with a beast of burden or by pulling it himself), as well as start and maintain fires, chop wood, and do other such simple activities with a practiced ease. Additionally, he has something of a rapport with animals. He has also learned to use basic tools and knots while working in towns and ports. He can wrestle and brawl with the best of them. He is illiterate and has no education. Weapons / Arms | Kel does not arm himself, but is dangerous enough on his own, and is accustomed to defending himself with whatever is at hand; large branches, tables, etc. He does carry a knife as a necessary tool, but would not wield it well in a fight.
Personality | Kel genuinely wishes to be helpful. He loves peace and quiet and animals, and becomes enraged when he perceives a weaker person being victimized. Kel lacks the wits or the nature to be good with money, and is constantly broke and in search of work for a meal and a barn to sleep in. Kel is largely alone in the world, and quickly bonds with anyone he meets while feeling ostracized by society at large, and is often scared of large groups of people. Kel is not stupid or witless, he just has no idea how the world works, and complex concepts he doesn't understand give him headaches, and he decides it's simply best not to dwell on them. Description | Kel is well over six feet tall and three hundred pounds that is largely muscle. His eyes are blue and bright, and his hair is black and would shine were it not constantly dirty. He keeps it short by periodically cutting it himself, so it is always a mess. His head is somewhat large, but not unsightly, and his hands and feet are huge and callused. His upper body is covered with burn scars. He wears loose burlap pants and a ratty muslin shirt, though he will commonly go shirtless. He has no shoes. Short Biography | Kel's mother died in childbirth, and he grew up on a farm with his elderly father. By age 8 he was doing most of the manual labor, and he and his father lived a quiet and happy life together. Kel's father, however, did not agree with the lord whose land they lived on. He held back food meant for tithe to feed his abnormally large son, and periodically would gamble or seek other means of making some real money so that Kel would not simply serve the lord when he died. Finally his father crossed a line, and one night riders set their house and barn on fire. Kel was badly burned saving the animals and his father died soon after. The lord hoped to put Kel back to work, but Kel simply wandered off one night. Since then Kel has wandered the towns and countryside, doing simple jobs, working as a longshoreman and mason's assistant, fighting local gangs for charities, that sort of thing.
