"Jamie! Jamie!" Sarah came bouncing up the steps of the small house by the seaside. She had sun-streaked brown hair, cut short to her chin. A broad grin showing a missing tooth in her otherwise perfect mouth. Her bright blue eyes were too large for her face, but they held a certain charm that made everyone love her. She wore a pink gingham dress, which was smeared with wet sand.
the girl Sarah was talking to lifted her head. "What's up?" She asked. She had the same blue eyes as Sarah, but they fit her face more. Her nose was long and thin, hooking slightly at the end. A lock of her dark brown hair was tied into a braid hung on the right side of her face. The rest hung down on her shoulders.
Sarah held up a large egg shaped black rock. It had a sheen to it, and seemed to suck all the light around it into itself. Jamie felt a chill go down her spine. She shuddered, and turned her attention to Sarah's excited eyes.
"Where did you get it?" She asked.
"By the beach." Sarah replied.
"What is it?" She continued.
"A rock." Sarah blinked.
"Looks like an egg to me." Jamie looked at it.
"Its too big to be an egg!" Sarah snapped.
"Just saying..."

Sarah's always loved the rock she found on vacation in California. She keeps it above her bed on a shelf. What she didn't know was that it was a basilisk egg, and that when it hatches, she must either tame it... or kill it... to save the world from the destruction it will cause.
