I'm well aware. However, a collaborative is a multi-author work, and, thus, an RP is a collaborative, and we here in this forum do not fail on the front of what to write, but we do fail on the front of writing anything at all.
I would be perfectally willing to write in a collaborative though. Did you have anything in mind? If not, I would be willing to brain storm with you on one.
All you have to do is tell me what you would be willing to write about, and I could come up with just about anything.
[Writing is one part creativity and two parts drive to create.]
What do you say?
[I think a tragedy of some sort would probably suite you, Zahmen-based on your preference. But If you wanted to pull in a few more people, besides myself, that is, you might want to also make it a little action packed.]

Hmm I already have a villian... or possibly two villians....or possibly the idea of a conflict between them.
I have the idea of a setting and a title anyways.
The collaborative would be called: "The night of the spider"
But somehow I dont think I'll be able to get people for it. I haven't been able to obtain people in the past, anyways.

Hey man, we write our collaborative stories in that way. You'd have to know Kye, Rin and Myself to understand the intricacies of our muddled brains!

I have two collaboratives, and I have a system that makes them function, but from what I've seen collaboratives tend to work better when their members decide on a story together. There are several parts to a story though and we can start with any of them. To help us decide I would like to point out the following which I have seen as useful in the creation process of collaboratives (or stories in general for that matter) - A genre and then a concept in correlation with that genre, or vice versa depending on how inspiration is wraught; - A villian, group of villians or general antagonists in the story; - Antithesises of those villians or parties who are in disagreement with the villians. - A possible theme. - Possible references or allusions. *~_~*'*~_~* I would like to note that should you indeed decide to write a colaborative with me we will need to decide on an ending. It may be vague, it may be specific, but it must be there; without it the collaborative will die, as its several authors will have no correlation of plot, and thus no collaborative element within their writing. That is neither here nor there though. Right now all we need to worry about is what we feel in the mood to write about. ninja I'll let you go first.

Well, I suppose Genre will set the real flavor of things and determine the type of writing and descriptions involved. Would you like something more "fantastical" or something a bit more realistic? I'm fine with either, but for safety's sake, I'll lean towards realistic. My fantastical stuff tends to get a little over the top. But perhaps a mystery, epic, or some such thing.
Villains: If fantasy, maybe a group, because one person doesn't seem to be enough to provide a sufficient challenge to today's heros. If realistic, it would depend on the specific setting.
Antithesis: What type of person are we dealing with? Are they A withdrawn type of person? A cynic? Are they happy? Energetic?
Theme: No. Idea.
References and Allusions: I'll leave that one to you for the most part.
As for the end, we definitely need that type of thing charted out before hand. At least the general direction of the ending. Otherwise we just sit and twiddle our thumbs trying to get the other person to end it for us.

I would have liked to elaborate on a system for a callaborative, but I feel that doing so might be a waste of time seeing as I never seem capable of finding people for these sort of things.
If you don't mind though I'd like to do something a little more magical then realistic. Magic, as strange as it sounds, is more honest then any realistic story can ever be.
In a story of magic we may make the rules, but in a realistic story we nay forget, or leave out through inexperience, those rules which govern our society and thus make our story that much more unenjoyable.
Also, a realistic story would require that I knew you well enough to have an almost sixth sense about your next move within a story, furthermore I would also need to have some sense for your personal views on life so that I can work with you to design a story that is not only meaningful and fun to write, but also one that works in the style of a collaborative.
I was thinking of doing something simple to start us off. a 20's setting love/political/magic/secret city sort of thing might be fun. But I'm open to anything really - I'm just not sure how well we would do on a real world setting is all.

You have a point. I will do my best then to keep it from getting to far out of hand. So, what type of character should we go with? Antagonist? Are we gonna throw anybody for a loop by making the "hero"s the villains?

Are we gonna throw anybody for a loop by making the "hero"s the villains? I think we should set up our setting and prevalent concepts before we begin creating the villains. As I said before, a simple fairy tale magic system (where spells seem to be set up around specific concepts and circumstances in the human world) to start us off with a steady and maleable plot structure. as for our setting, well...I I would like to do something along the lines of retro futuristic concepts. Ermm. I know thats not the right way to phrase it but it's the gist of what I want to do. You see, I've always been entranced by the idea that man could have been miles ahead while the rest of the world was stuck in primitive mechanics. Specifically I'd like to do something that hybridizes electricity and magic... hmm.. What do you think though?

That sounds really intriguing. I think I see what you mean by mixing magic and technology. We could do some interesting things with that. So, retro future, magic+machine, and now we need a prevalent concept. What we need to establish, I think, is the type of conflict. Man vs Man, Man vs Himself, Man vs Society and the like. I could definitely see something along of the lines of Man vs Himself or Man vs Society. An unaccommodating society, or a conflict within himself because he might be so far ahead that he is isolated and dealing with factors in his own life.
