Private Roleplay for Edward and Alphonse. Because they haven't managed to RP together like this yet. Boo! Hehe. =P
------------------------------------
It was a fairly quiet overcast afternoon. The sun was going to set in a few hours, but that fact didn't seem to matter in the least to the young adult Kitsusagi who was sitting outside in it currently.
Alphonse was taking advantage of the last hours of daylight just to sit out in the raw of nature. He had been by himself more often than not in recent days, and doing such had given him a lot of time to think. A lot had happened since he arrived here, and a lot had seemed to change prior to his arrival, too. He still wasn't sure if he was happy with all of it right now, but in the end, he knew he would have to accept it in the end, come what may. He released a quiet sigh and pinned his ears back. Being alone out here in the gloomy weather was doing nothing to lighten his mood.
The dirty-blonde haired youth sat in front of a flat large stone partially embedded in the ground, which formed part of the cobbled path to the Realm HQ building. In his right paw he held a piece of white clay, dried and firm enough for scribbling. Or in this case, drawing transmutation circles. He knew a lot of them by now, thanks to his old teacher, his own studies with Edward a few years ago, and now he knew a bi more thanks to the number of alchemy books General Mustang kept in his library. Still, despite all of his knowledge, Alphonse could think of nothing in particular to draw right now.
"It's too quiet out here." He said aloud to himself, idly brushing clay dust off a paw and onto his blood red warm coat. "I'm lonely..." He got to his feet and shook himself off, then picked up the hunk of dried clay and began to draw simple alchemic circles on the road to entertain himself and keep his mind occupied. How many different ones could he remember? This would be a good way to find out. A small amused grin began to grow on his face as he began to fill up the path with the different circles. While it could be a little bit dangerous to leave such things written down on the path, he was sure there was nobody else nearby who knew how to activate them.
"This is fun," He grinned to himself, sitting back on his heels to dust off his paws again. "Now, how many more can I think of....?"

These past few days, Edward had been spending most of his time with Lilianna, but he hadn't forgotten about his brother. He had to figure out how to divide his time between his mate and his only living blood relative. It was a difficult thing to do, but Edward was determined to do so. He's left Lily's side for the time being and ventured outside to seek out his brother. It was nearing winter and was rather cold out, thus he also wore his red coat.
There was something different about the way he walked, like a new spring in his step. A lot had happened as of late to him as well. He'd finally grown, his brother had arrived, and he had settled down with the girl he loved. What more could he possibly ask for? The golden haired kitsu blinked as he came upon Alphonse drawing random transmutation circles all about. His paws coming just shy of one as he lookd down at it, a light laugh coming from him. Old habits died hard, and even Edward couldn't resist the pull of fiddling with alchemy now and then.

His sensitive ears sprung high on his head when he heard the laugh somewhere behind him. The young adult was attentive as he looked up, turning his head towards the direction his ears had told him where the noise came from.
"Oh, hello there, brother," Alphonse said to him, giving him a slight grin as he spoke. "You seem awfully happy about something today." He set the piece of clay on the ground beside him and sat on his hinds, tails wagging slightly. "Did something good happen?"

Shining golden eyes tilted up to look at his brother as he noticed him and spoke. Again, Edward laughed, and shook his head with a big grin. "Yeah, but I think that would fall into the 'TMI' category!" He didn't think his little brother would be all that enthralled with hearing about how his and Lilianna's relationship was going at the moment, considering it was a rather private thing. He didn't want to damage poor Al's ears either.
Moving around the circles, he trotted over to his brother and sat down nearby, looking at the more recent circles he's drawn. "Doesn't look like you have enough to do, we should change that." As great as alchemy was, he knew boredom when he saw it. There was several things they could do really to pass the time like they did on the trains. Like playing a game of cards! Or... just finding something to snack on, atleast Al could actually eat stuff now. Or they could even spar. It depended on what mood his brother was in, but it was high time they did -something- together!

Alphonse blinked for a moment as he thought about Edward's response could mean. After a moments silence he slowly shook his head, leaving it be. Edward and that red female were a couple, and what they did together wasn't really any of his business anyway. Still, it was weird to think of the fact that his brother was with somebody now, and the secrets they could share together. He pinned his ears back - was he jealous of that? Not even he really knew for sure. He was, however, unhappy with the fact that this girl took so much of his brother's time.
When Edward spoke of boredom, Alphonse's ears fell, and he shook his head. "No, it's OK, brother." He said calmly. "I'm alright." He forced a small grin onto his face as if to emphasise the fact. He wasn't entirely sure if the other would buy it, however.
"I'm keeping myself entertained," He continued. "I'm seeing how many different circles I can remember. Though that one here," He pointed to one a few feet in front of him, "And that one over there look too similar to be called different. I'm glad this isn't a test, because I'd probably be accused of cheating now."

No, Edward didn't buy it.. not for a moment. He didn't know what his brother was thinking, but he had a good idea. After all, despite the fact they'd been seperated for so long, that didn't mean he'd forgotten what his own brother was like. He looked slightly crestfallen as Al tried to deny that he was still perturbed.
"C'mon Al" he said quietly, looking at the circles, "I could read you as a suit of armor, you can't hide your loneliness from me" after all.. his brother's mannerisms made it all the easier for Ed to pick up on things. He felt guilty for how things were going with Al. After all... it was partly his fault that the whole incident with Envy had happened in the first place. He hadn't paid his brother enough attention. "I want you to be honest with me, and I'll be honest with you." After all.. Al didn't like it when Ed hid things, and Edward wasn't any different.

He turned his attention back towards his elder brother now, studying his expression with curious burnt-golden eyes. The young adult quietly sighed as he pondered his brother's words.
"Sorry, brother." He said finally. "I can be honest with you, if you want to be honest with me. It's only fair, afterall." He gave his brother a small nod. "But I don't want you to keep any more secrets, either. Well, apart from the personal ones you would keep with that nice red furred lady you keep being with..." A small shrug of his shoulders. "But I didn't even know you were with her until I found out from somebody else."
"I..." He pinned his ears back. "I don't like that, brother."

He nodded slowly, as his brother spoke of being honest if he was. He chuckled, "Of course... equivalent exchange, right?" Although his expression turned a bit guilty as Alphonse continued, "Yeah... sorry" he said softly. He didn't really have a good excuse for that, and he knew that Alphonse wouldn't understand. He didn't know what it was like to be in love, and he couldn't expect that of him until he experience it for himself. "I've been a pretty bad brother lately, huh?" He shook his head remorsfully, knowing that things weren't the same before they had ended up here. If only Al had shown up sooner.
But well... he hoped that now they could spend some time by themselves. He had purposely not brought Lilianna with him, cause well... there were certain things that could only be shared between brothers alone. He liked to think that nothing had changed between them, but that would be blatant denial. "I wish things could be the same again, but they can't Al. We'll just have to make do with what we do have." Things weren't the same, but that didn't mean it had to be a bad thing. They would over come this, they've had to overcome far worse situations.

Alphonse slowly nodded his head at his brother's words. "You're right," He began. "I don't think things can ever go back to being the way they were before. That was then and this is now. You've already moved on to do your own things, and the only direction you should really move in is forwards."
"I wouldn't say you've been a bad brother, brother." He scratched the side of his head in thought. "You just... failed to tell me things? Things probably would have turned out differently if you had just been honest from the beginning." An unhappy expression began to grow across his face as he continued. "I thought you didn't need me around any more. And in some ways, I guess you don't, either." He slowly shook his head. "You have the red furred girl now. And I'm happy for you there, because she's a really nice girl. Well, from what I know of her, anyway..."

Edward's eyes softened a bit as he heard his brother speak. That was what they always insisted on... moving forwards. They had to move forward and not let anything stop them, and it was no different now. Some things would certainly never change.
Edward moved forward and placed his automail paw on his brother's shoulder, "Yeah.. I do have her now, but that doesn't mean she replaces you. She's my mate, but you're my only flesh and blood, Al. Nothing can change that." He smile faintly, hoping that he would finally be able to reassure his brother and get him to cheer up. He wanted Alphonse to start moving forward as well instead of brooding like this.

Alphonse made a low humming noise in thought. What his brother was saying rang true in his mind, and he had no reason to disagree with that logic. When he felt the weight of the automail paw on his shoulder, he reached out with his own right paw, placing it on his brother's shoulder, giving him a short, but accepting nod.
"I know, brother." He said calmly. "I'm not saying she's a replacement. But you've grown since our adventures together. And although I'd like to be at your side and travel with you, and see the same things you see, you need to do that with the girl you've chosen, and not me. Does that make sense to you?"

They should be having happy moments with each other, but instead... Edward has felt nothing but sadness with his brother since he had come. It shouldn't be that wy, and Edward didn't want it to be that way. Al's words caused his ears to tilt back and he gave a short laugh, "I don't travel anymore Al... there's no reason to seek out the philosopher's stone anymore. You're back in the flesh. Now I can just live... we both can." He then snorted, "We're talking like we'll never see each other again.. Ha! We've found each other, and we should make up for lost time! Make the most of it and move forward, right? Just because I have a mate doesn't mean I'm tied down!" He smirked at his brother, giving him a playful shove. He was tired of all this moping about like it was the end of the world. He wanted to be happy dammit.. he wanted them both to be happy!

Alphonse opened his mouth as if to speak, wanting to respond to his brother's statement. Instead, the first thing that came out of his mouth was a loud "ouff!" sound. He tumbled onto his side as he was shoved, and shook himself off, quite unharmed by the playful gesture.
"That was very mean of you, brother!" He immediately yelped back at him. Though despite his protests, his tails were wagging now. "You shouldn't be so mean to your little brother, Ed!" He cheekily grinned. "Oh, so that's how it is?"
He shook himself off and bounded at his brother, placing both paws on his brother's shoulders attempting to push him down and pin him onto the ground, a broad cheeky grin across his maw now. A loud amused chuckle escaped him and right now he couldn't have cared less if he wasn't successful with his pinning attempt. He was having fun.

Edward just rolled his eyes at his brother's complaints. He knew that Alphonse wasn't that fragile, even in the flesh! Elrics are made of tougher stuff than that! "Pfft.. that's what you get for all those frowns!" His face having turned into a broad smirk up until his brother lept at him and pushed him onto his back.
Oh, but Edward wouldn't be defeated so easily! They had sparred plenty of times. With being knocked flat, Ed's hind legs came up into his brother's stomach to push him and flip him over his head. "Ha! It'll take more than that to get me!"

His pounce had been co-ordinated. Well, at least he thought so anyway. So when Edward's hind legs easily pushed him up and flipped him over, not only was he surprised by the motion, but shocked also. He made a loud yelp as he was flipped head-over-heels, wings flaying out either side to keep balance, landing onto the grass near his brother with a soft thump.
"Ouff!" He yelped as his back hit the dirt. He lay there for a moment, chuckling, attention on the sky. It was such a gloomy looking afternoon, but he didn't seem to mind so much any more.
"Darn it, brother..." Alphonse chuckled, moving to his feet again, shaking bits of grass and dirt off himself. "I didn't see that one coming at all. You've been training since before I got here, haven't you?" He gave the other a wide grin, then returned his attention to the Realm HQ stone cobbled path.
"I still can't get over the thought that you hatched here, and spent a lot of your time there," He said as the grin began to fade from his maw again, nodding ahead to the building. "That's just really weird. Then again, I've thought about a lot of things here, and they're really weird, too."
