Hakim paced around the floor of the cave muttering, "What to do, what to do, what to do!" He stummbled and fell to the floor where he stayed laying. "My tummy hurts! WHY?! Why is it making weird sounds?!" He got up and ran out of the cave without looking were her was going. "OOF!" He grunted as he hit a tree and fell backwards. "Who put that tree there?!" He growled and stood up once again rubbing his head with his paw.

Bursting forth from the underbrush in a bizarre sort of leaping roll came a young Dragonfly. Slightly larger than the average pup, she had the strange coloration of a human food. She stood out brightly against the deep jade of the leaves around her. Recovering deftly from her landing, the pup noticed Hakim and cried out boldly, "Hi there!"

Hakim spun around and yelped at the sight of the new pink creature. Unfortunately he had never seen another dragonfly nor his reflection so he didn't know what the female was. He quickly turned the other direction and began to run only run into the same tree yet again. This time when he fell to the ground he stayed there and covered his head with his paws, whimpering.

Completely oblivious to the boy's fear, the pink and blue pup walked up to him, prodded him for a second, and then asked, "What's wrong? Never seen a Dragonfly before?" The question was phrased sarcastically and she smirked as she said it. However, she had a friendly look about her and she hadn't done anything even vaguely threatening yet.

Hakim shrunk even smaller and tried to mutter through his fur, but began to cough as he almost swallowed a bit of his fur. He looked up at the pink pup and whispered, "W....w...whats a dragonfly? I.... is that what you are?" He stood up slowly and looked the female up and down. Stepping forward he began to poke her all over with his nose, to see if she was real and what she was made of. "You smell a lot like me!" He exclaimed surprised. He only found that when he spotted, or smelled, two animals of the same kind.

Surprised and a bit confused, the pink pup shoved his nose away and snapped, "Hey! That's rude, y'know!" before responding to his earlier question with, "And yes, I'm a Dragonfly! You are too! I was being sarcastic, of course." She tossed her mane lightly and struck a ridiculous pose. She then laughed at herself happily and sat down, lightly wondering whether his nose could pick up on her abnormality or not.
The strange thing about her scent was that her colors, the pink and the blue, smelled differently than each other. The blue always smelled sweeter than the pink for some reason. A Dragonfly she had run into a month or two ago had told her that the blue spots were so sweet, they burned his nose. Then again, this pup might be too young to notice the differences.

Hakim growled when she pushed his nose, "And thats not nice either!" He grumbled and began to walk off, "You are weird... I'm not a dragonfly!" He stopped walking suddenly and looked around in horror as his stomach growled yet again. He yelped and jumped into the air, running in circles. He stopped yet again and looked up the pink female, "I don't know what or who you are, but you have to help me! There is a monster in my belly and its making these really weird noises!" His eyes were filled with sadness and terror, as he looked at the polka dotted female for help. "And it hurts...!"

Without knowing whether to laugh or not, the spotted pup could only stare for a moment before asking him, "Are you really serious?" Noticing the pain in his eyes, she shook her head quickly and told him, "Okay, okay. I get it. You are serious." She sighed, put a paw on his stomach and nodded. "Yep. Just as I thought. There's nothing wrong with you, silly. You're just hungry!" she exclaimed. Realising that he probably needed more than that, she gestured for him to follow her. "Okay, come with me. Being hungry means that you need to eat something. I'm guessing you don't know how to hunt, so I'll show you. There's a great river not too far from here! I can catch a fish for you there. It will make the monster that's hurting your belly go away," she explained as she walked.

Hakim's eyes glittered with glee, "Oh thank you Ms. Dragonfly! Thank you!" He paced after her, stumbling occasionally because of his big puppy paws. He thought for a moment as the walked before speaking up again, "Ms. Dragonfly? What is a fish? It must be pretty tough to make such a strong monster go away..."

As he followed, "Ms. Dragonfly" turned toward him and chuckled. "You're welcome. And my name's Wataame, just so you know. What's yours?" At the posed question, Wataame walked silently for a moment as she gathered her thoughts. How to phrase the answer so that it did not confuse him? "Um..... let's look at it this way: The monster in your belly isn't very strong at all - he's just loud. He grumbles and roars and that's what hurts you - his terrible noise. But, if you eat some food - like fish - he quiets down and doesn't bother your tummy for a while," she attempted.

Hakim listened to Wataame and giggled, "You may call my Hakim, Ms. Dragonfly!" He jumped around a bit, having quite a bit of energy for a starving pup. "And thats a silly monster than! Listen... i can growl louder than he can!" He tried to growl, and it work for a moment before it went really high pitched and turned into a yelp. He snuffled and tried again, only managing to howl. "Well... sometimes I can...." He looked away in disdain, and dragged his feet a bit.

Waatame giggled at Hakim's little growl and told him cheerily, "Nice to meet you, Hakim. And don't worry about growling - you'll get better in time!" Finally, they came to the river she had been leading them towards. Slicing a path through the dense forest, the river was about the width of two adult Dragonflies. It flowed sluggishly, but was very deep, and fish could be seen swimming peacefully within its depths, their scales glinting silver in the sun.

Hakim glanced at the water and sighed gleefully, "What a pretty place! And look, look Ms. Dargonfly! FISH!!!" Hakim giggled and stayed beside Waatame afraid he might scare them away. He shushed himself and lay on the ground, creeping across the grass, he waddled up to the edge of the water and looked down at the fish, his tail wagging slightly in curiousity.
