The smell of singed leaves filled the air as the young coyote darted through the trees of the shadowy forest. Red and orange flames lapped and sparked at his paws, and yet his skin refused to burn. His black nose wiggled as he paused from his running, the Skinwalker now once again attempting to reacquaint himself with the new changes that had come over him. Before now, a nose was just a nose. Now, his sense of smell had grown more powerful, and aided him in far more ways than he ever thought possible. And that was just one of the many new things he was getting used to.
After what had seemed like forever, he was finally free to do things as he wished. No longer were there rules to this game of life, no longer did he have to worry about things that went 'bump' in the night. He now caused the bumps in the night.
He grinned, exposing the mouthful of sharp canine teeth. What he once had feared, he had now become, and the feeling was overwhelmingly powerful. He would focus on these new feelings, concentrate and tame his ability to change, as well as his new talents and senses. Already, so many plans and thoughts of chaos had filled his mind... he was capable of anything now.
Taking a giant leap for good measure, the coyote took off, taking pleasure in the exhilarating feeling of being small and maneuverable as he continued his endless dash within the darkened forest.

Singed smell? The second coyote could have sworn she smelt it on the wind, she ignored it. She didnt really care about anything else this moment, all that she did care about was the rabbit currently between her jaws that she was ripping chunks off of. She ate it hungerly, not exactly like she needed to eat... but the rabbit had looked so helpless, she couldnt resist. Besides, why waste a perfectly good oportunity?
The female herself would be easy to spot, being almost solid white she would apear like a ghost in the forest. Even so, its not like one comes looking for a skinwalker, no, the skinwalkers are always the ones whom do the hunting.

His heart beat faster and faster with each leap, his paws kicking up leaves every time they briefly touched the ground. It was exciting, this new body, and all these new feelings. Exciting, but exhausting, at the same time. While his eagerness and lust for more continued, his stamina had yet to adjust to the enormous change in Smolder's physical form.
Slowing down, his dash soon turned into a sauntering pace, and red eyes took in the environment around him. A week ago, he wouldn't have dared to walk within the forest at dark. Now he bathed in the moonlight streaming down between the branches, enjoying it and taking in as much as he could.
His nose twitched. Was that... blood, he smelled?
He instinctively drew low to the ground, his nose now working harder to track down this seducing scent. Never before had the idea of blood appealed to him, but now his mouth was salivating at the mere idea of being within reach of it. Was this what it truly felt like to be evil? To be corrupt and destructive? He didn't know, and he didn't care. All he cared about for the moment was locating and discovering the source of this tantalizing whiff.
Keeping as quiet as possible, soft padded paws hastened to investigate from where the blood was coming from, the low fire engulfing them lighting a pathway in the darkness.

Sitting in the patch of dead leaves she continued to rip and tear at the rabbits flesh, the aroma of a fresh kill intoxicating her. Just the sheer sight of it was enough to make her darker soul content.
This was, until the burning smell got too unbearable to stand. Growling she perked up her ears more and sniffed intently this time, was there a different scent mixed within the burnt one? If it was a forest fire the dark night would have been illuminated with the sounds and sights of fleeing creatures, even if it sounded pleasant, this suirely was not the cause of the smell.
Standing up onto all fours she kicked a few leaves over the half eaten kill, and waited for whatever was there to show itself. Who DARE approach a skinwalker.

The smell of blood grew stronger, and with that scent came a new stench... one all too familiar yet different at the same time. He lingered where he stood, pausing to debate on whether to continue, or retreat from the area.
It has been many many nights since his run-in with the Skinwalker, and the memory crept upon him once more. This time, instead of fearing the beast that attacked him, he found no reason as to why he couldn't face her. He was what she was, now, so there was no reason to flee. Not anymore.
Though the odor was feminine, it reeked of an unfamiliar scent. Perhaps, after all, this wasn't the creature responsible for his current state. All the same, however, his curiosity got the better of him, and he stepped forward, continuing his walk towards the smell. He knew his flames would give him away, but he didn't care. What should he fear? He was fear itself!

Apparently, whatever was approaching was either incredibly stupid, foolish, or a mixture of the both. A second growl rumbled within her throat as she saw the source of the burning smell. What the hell kind of thing was that, to have its own -four- legs on fire. At least.. it was moving, so of course it was attached to something right!? Fire didnt spontaneously bop up and down like it was walking.. did it? Of course not!
Not bothering waiting for it to come to her, it was clear what the thing intentions where. Eyes flashing dangerously she left the kill behind to eat later. Lilin paced forward, staking towards the 'thing' that disturbed her meal.

He heard the growl before anything else, and his ears perked as he once again paused in his gait, lowering his body closer towards the ground. Whatever it was, it had grown quiet after the growl. Using his own vocal chords, Smolder replied with his own snarl, warning the approacher that he wasn't a meal to be had.
Then he saw it. In the shadowy distance, a soft white blur was slowly becoming recognizable as it drew closer. This was no doubt the source of the female scent he'd identified earlier, and he could only assume this was also where the scent of blood had come from. So the mystery smell had been solved, but the adventure was far from over.
Leery, he stood his ground defensively, the hairs on his back rising. His claws extended themselves from his fiery paws, and he bared his fangs. He wasn't about to be caught off guard, should an attack occur.

So the intruder was also a biter, quite interesting. She wasnt at all phased by the snarl, if anything, it gave her a know-how partly of what shes dealing with. Sniffing the air she searched for the scent amongst the cinder smell again, it was the same as before. The scent was similar to her own, yet it had a distinct difference, a male.
So the fires where not bouncing anymore, that means the predecessor has stopped in his tracks. Curling her lip up so her canines show she continued to walk, her fur bristling agitatedly. Her claws raked across the dry earth as she spoke in a cold, dry tone. "who dares."
(( .. never RPed skinwalker before so im guessing.. i -think- they can still speak in soquili-nese when in coyote form, if not... they'r both skinwalkers, they'll understand one another. XD; ))

(( Me either. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME 8D <3 ))
As the female coyote drew closer, so did her scent. Whereas he hadn't been sure before, Smolder could now definitely sense that this wasn't the one that was responsible for his transformation. Yet, all the same, a Skinwalker was a Skinwalker, thus, a formidable opponent.
His ears bent back as he heard her threatening tone, and he felt the fire at his paws grow hotter as his defenses quickly flew up. How he should respond, he didn't know, so he let out another warning growl for good measure. The female coyote wasn't intimidating by size, but he knew better than to underestimate the slender white creature. An attack was imminent, that was certain, and his felt his own claws dig deep into the earth, impatiently waiting for the inevitable to occur.

(sorry for the late reply @@)
Not a talker... alright. By now she knew that the other was just like herself, a skinwalker. But for some reason his scent seemed slight alien to her, was he a pure or not? Either way, a intruder is a intruder.. and on HER territory, this meant blood.
Taking off with a bolt of speed she dug her claws into the ground, leaving behind gouges due to their extreme sharpness. The flames around the male grew larger, but this was no matter. They only seemed to be around his legs... leaving his torso open mostly. Growing closer she growled deeply and veered to the side last minute, lifting her leg at the same time. She was attempting to gash his side.

She was faster than he'd ever imagined, and it only took mere seconds before he felt the sharp pain at his waist. Smolder quickly maneuvered away from his attacker, giving off an involuntary hiss at the throbbing gashes in his side and he snapped out at the female passing by, though his mouth felt no flesh between his teeth after clamping down, having missed his goal.
It took half a second to glance down and see the blood quickly swelling from the claw marks she'd left behind, and his red eyes grew wild with rage. That damn b***h! Blood was beginning to drip down his side, and he winced as he leaned down to cauterize the wound with his own back paw. He'd learned the trick from his mother, when either he or his siblings had gotten cut from their roughhousing, but now that knowledge came as a lifesaver.
It was painful, he wouldn't deny that. He forced his face to remain emotionless, though his mouth yearned to wince from the burning of his own skin, the scars no doubt quickly forming from the other skinwalker's attack.
Slightly rising, he remained at a crouch, ready to pounce or attack back, if necessary. "What is it you want?" he growled, baring his teeth to his opponent. Did she intend to try to kill him? Or was she just looking for a fight to be had? Or perhaps he had stepped on boundaries she felt were her own? "This land is much mine as it is yours!"

(only took me 2 months to reply >>;;; *shot* ))
Feeling her blow connect made the already wild look in her eyes become more apparent. Using the ground she twisted around to stop the movement speed, and face upon the intruder.
Eyes still flaming brightly a smirk came to her canine muzzle, the longevity of her teeth visible. "your land? HA!" She sneered amused at the sheer idea of this being -his- land too. Standing up tall she bristled out her fur as far at it would reach. "Learn your place, you damn half breed."
Saying that, she once more made a fast paced dash for the intruder. If HE Felt this was his land too, then he better be ready to have this Skinwalker slashing at his heels. If he wanted it, he best well be prepared to fight for it.

His shoulders haunched up, and his snarl grew wider. The HELL with the half-breed comments! He'd lived his life knowing he wasn't a Nightmare like is brother or mother, so being called such only infuriated him further. He felt the cool dirt beneath his paws as they clawed against the ground in frustration. This b***h might be a true skinwalker, but he was far more than any stupid half-breed!
Saliva began dripping down between his extended jaws as his chest heaved with every quickly-drawn breath. He wasn't used to his sweat glands no longer existing, as he now relied on panting instead, and it was proving to be a large nuisance. He ignored his body's natural adjustment to the changes in species, and watched the other coyote for any new sign.
In the blink of an eye, she'd launched herself out at him once more, but at least this time, he'd be quick enough to defend himself. Crouching low, he kept his fiery paws between him and the white coyote, daring her to try to reach him through the flames that were now his protective defense.
