Everyone who does somewhat adjustable Martial Arts has done a few made up things. Either by accident or on purpose it doesn't matter.
One of the things I liked doing just for fun was with turning heel kick I extended the spin and was able hook the head area and drag the person instead of the ol' heel to the face. It wouldn't exactly be absolutely useful, but it's fun to do on a bag.
My best, well, add-on, is in flying side kick, I twist off the side, setting me up for another attack if the person doesn't fall back the first time.
So the discussion is:
-What is the worst variation you have done -The best

This is good. I like this topic. 3nodding
Worst variation: I use a stepping in spinning back kick to throw off opponent's timing. I've tries stepping to the oppoenent's outside and almost scissor them, but its a tangled up mess.
Best variation: My instructor's favorite knife defense is when they lunge, catch the wrist and side step as they step in. Then pull them forward hard to add to their momentum. As they pass, push off the in the other direction and pull. They run right out from under themselves. I added in a hip check and a wrist lock. Sends them flying every time. whee

lets see my worst variation is a varition on the side step defence caus i step in to the blow to stop it with my body like if they ax kick I get right under there ham string so they can't finish the kick and get thrown off ballance i really don't think ive come up with any good variations yet

Marty Nozz This is good. I like this topic. 3nodding Sends them flying every time. whee Why thankyou. smile I like when people fly. One of the head instuctor's was doing side kicks at todays demo and when one of the other instuctor was holding a pad sheild and just with one solid side kicks the pad holder flew quite a bit and fell to his back. He caught himself with a breakfall, but still it was pretty cool.

Early on In my Taekwon-do Training (think I was about yellow belt) we where learning how to master Turning kicks, the higher end of the class where doing flying spinning turning kicks, when it came to the time where I had to do the turning kick, somehow I ended up flying spinning doing a back kick and falling on the floor right on my bum! Lets just say It was a good kick, but one in a million at the time, and it caused some laughs in the class!
