Does your sib play an instrament? Do you like their instrament? Do you compete over which instrament is better? Do you complete over who is better at playing?
I have a sister who plays percussion. I don't really mind the drums as a instrament. The flute is better, hands down. No arguements. She knows I'll win. I play better, but on my flute. I've played for four years, and she just started, so not fair.

I'm a clarinet girl, and my brother's a percussion guy. He's pretty good. I don't know how to compete if we play different instruments, so it doesn't bother me that much. Now if he played the clarinet, then there'd be some competition going on...

There may be plenty of fish in the sea I play clarinet and alto sax, and I'm streets ahead of my sisters, who play flute and violin. to be fair, my older sister has only been playing violin 18 months. My little sister started flute the same time I started clarinet, but she stopped for about a year, and I never did, so I'm three grades ahead of her now. There's not really much rivalry between us. Well, not serious rivalry. Obviously, my little sister and I belittle the string player, though. You just have to! but who really wants to date a fish?

I'm the oldest of three, and I am the only one who has made music a career.
My two younger sisters started on piano, and one got to be pretty good. But then I started using their old method books and caught up to them in no time at all. Then one decided to pick up bass, and then I wanted to too. The other took up percussion/drumset, and I envied her coordination between her feet and hands (something I still have yet to accomplish).
That being said, I believe that my siblings more envied me for being a copycat, then exceeding their standing at their endeavors. Turns out that my copycat tendencies paid off in the end, because I needed to know those instruments anyways to be the music teacher that I am today.

I'm the third kid out of four. My little brother only just started learning drums, so it's hard to compare... My older brother was going to major in music, about six years ago, but he changed his mind. Now I want to major in music, so...we'll see how that goes. He was also a drum major before I was. I think he was a better drum major than I've been, but it's impossible to compare, really. My sister plays baritone and drums. I don't mind baritone...I'm not too fond of drums, but she plays them well.
