Lowering Fiach's chair to the proper height for her, Adalia removed her warm jacket and placed it lightly over the back of the chair. Flopping into the seat and pulling the keyboard into her lap, she propped her booted feet up on the desk. She'd worn baggy capris with her combat boots, just for that purpose. It always ticked Fiach off if she put her boots on his desk, so she always dressed to suit the position when she worked and he didn't. Rolling up the sleeves of her tight fit shirt, she began quickly typing into the computer.

I'll hack this journal of his, one way or another. Fingers rapidly clicking over the keys, she wasn't really paying much attention to anything going on around her. When Li'tae appeared on the screen, she waved a hand at him and asked him to put on some music for her. As soon as he realized what she was trying to hack, he smirked and did just what she asked. Deciding that watching her attempt to hack Fiach's journal was far more entertaining than anything else that might be going on for the moment. Nestling down at the bottom corner of the screen, he watched the rapid strings of passwords and codes as everything she tried failed.

Frustration began to mount in Adalia's mind as she failed repeatedly at hacking Fiach's journal. So entertained was Li'tae that he completely forgot to tell her why he was hanging around the shop, instead letting Adalia slip into a typing frenzy, totally oblivious to the world around her.

<This might be interesting.> Snickering, Li'tae waited for the delivery and Adalia to conclude she wasn't going to be able to hack that journal without his help. Which, he smugly though, she'd never ask for anyway.

The door to the shop creaked open as a figure pushed it inwards, his eye scanning around the shop as he tried to find a person. His left hand moved and pushed the door open more, almost all the way to the back of its hinges, and his right hand gripped a massive metal trolley that toted two boxes on its surface.

"Hello, delivery."

The figure's voice was calm and collected as he announced his full purpose for entering this place at such an odd hour, but as he gazed around and didn't spot any living people he let out a sigh and glanced down at his watch. Perhaps it was a bad time to come here, and he was about to turn away and leave when he noticed a set of...well...boots, resting against the desk near him.

"Hello, delivery."

< Li'tae, they're here. >

Trisste popped onto Adalia's screen with a sudden ping, his chat box apperaring and filling almost instantly. It was as if he'd been lurking around specifically for that purpose, to alert his companion when something had arrived, and he did it with style.

< ..... ..What's Addy doing? >

Lazily sitting up, and moving her feet so that her head was just visible, Adalia sighed as the man called out a second time. Pulling her feet down from the desk and placing the keyboard back in its place, she leaned forward to rest her elbow against the desk, and her chin in her palm. Raising an eyebrow, she simply responded, "Yes?"

Smiling as Trisste appeared, Li'tae gave him a fast hug before chuckling at his question. Smirking, he responded as happily as only Li'tae could at someone causing mischief.

With a slight tilt of his head and a mischievous grin, he leaned forward in a conspiratorial manner towards Trisste.

Pleased with himself, the hacker excitedly watched the man who had brought in the boxes. He rather wanted to see what he would look like and how they'd turned out.

"I've got a delivery for a Mr....Molyneux. Says to deliver it here and have anyone in present sign over for it."

The young man's brow curled in slight irritation as he made his way fully to the desk, his load moving behind him on the trolley. The two boxes that sat atop the surface swayed a bit with the movements yet stayed firm, their bases tethered down with what appeared to be red tape and black rope.

"The order I'm delivering is...."

He reached into his pocket for a sheet of paper, his eye trailing off as he looked through a stack that came out in various stages of disarray.

" .. .....Wait a second."

< She should keep out of his personal things, you know. >

Trisste's spech was a little delayed as it took him a moment to recover from Li'tae's action and as the gentleman spoke loud enough that the mic picked it up and allowed the hackers to hear, a smile spread across his face.

< This is great, theyr'e actually here and completed. I didn't think it could be done. >

Tilting her head in curiosity, Adalia finally got to her feet and closed the remaining distance to the man. A slight pout touched her lips as she couldn't help but ask, "What delivery? Sionce works at his house..." It didn't make sense to her for Sionce to have something delivered to the main shop...

Snickering in the aggravatingly way of all hackers, Li'tae shrugged haphazardly.

The hacker was quite pleased at his human's deviousness, even if it had been interrupted by the delivery man. Li'tae wasn't quite sure what was more entertaining at the moment - Adalia's frustration or the new deliveries. Glancing over at Trisste, he quickly made his decision - the deliveries were, by far, more interesting for the time being.

Nodding in agreement with Trisste, he gave a small laugh before adding his two cents, however unnecessarily.

"Look kiddo, I only deliver where I'm told to. The order form specified that they be dropped here and signed for. It's already been paid for in full so there's COD or delivery charges you need to worry about."

The man held out a claim slip towards Adalia with his signature scrawled along the bottom in a combination of letters and numbers, KX-113.

"Any questions? Should I help you set these up and explain proper use?"

KX's tone was friendly enough as he patted one of the boxes labeled 'sadness', written in a font that looked out of some old bible instead of a person's normal hand.

< We'll be the ones using them, so if you could explain it to myself and my companion here that would be best. >

Trisste popped himself up onto the main television moniter, his chat box displayed large enough that KX could read it from where he stood without any difficulty.

< I honestly didn't think you'd be able to make something like that. You're amazing, despite apperances. ....Pardon my expression. >

"S'all good, no worries. I'm well aware of my appearance."

And what an appearance, standing at about 6'5" and thin as a rake. The only muscle that appeared to be on him was toned at best, giving off an air that he did work but an unknown kind to give him that body.

He had sandyish hair that actually was a bright shade of russet that framed his face and have him more of an 'emo' look, though it didn't seem to give off the air that he actually held to that personality. It actually added a wave of sophistication to his self, a wave that was only accented by the gauze and fabric eyepatch that covered his left eye and trailed over his nose.

His skin was a healthy shade, his fingernails clean and well kept. Overall there was no way he looked like he could make whatever it was he was claiming he did, but that was what made it fun.

"Mind if I smoke in here? I tend to think better when I'm destroying my lung cells."

Frowning slightly at being called kiddo, Adalia looked curiously at the signature of "KX-113". Taking the slip from him to sign, she smiled a little as he asked if she had any questions. She did, but probably nott he ones he was talking about. She wanted to know who had made the order, why they'd requested they be delivered at the shop, what this man's name actually was, and why he'd chosen to name himself "KX-113". Jotting her signature down on the page, she glanced up just in time to catch Trisste's message on the screen, and sighed. Should've known it was those two up to trouble again.

Glancing around the shop at his last question, she shrugged. "Fiach's not here, so why should I care if you smoke?"

Li'tae smiled as Trisste took charge - it wasn't very often the other hacker did so. He was very similar to Sionce in that respect, but it made Li'tae happy anyway to see his friend acting like this. Even if Trisste was just likely giddy over the new toys, it was still nice. Nodding as he looked the tall human over, he wondered if "KX" had any other jobs. Certainly didn't dress or keep his hygiene like you'd expect some mad scientist engineer to do. Shrugging slightly and mostly to himself, he hovered patiently, trying to contain his excitement at the new bodies.

"Always a good thin to ask in advance, you know."

KX lit up a cigarette by striking the match against the bottom of his shoe (which turned out to be a cowboy boot), and he exhaled a thin trail of smoke as he looked back up at the moniter.

The two figures that were in view there pqied his interested far more than this project hard orginally at the beginning, and with a grin he motioned to the box closet to him with a jerk of his thumb.

"I take it you two ordered these, and know what's in them?"

< Of course. I stumbled across a history of you while I was browesing pages, and I wanted to see if it could actually be done. Someone with your skill was too good to pass up. >

Trisste floated back and forth as his chat box filled, and he cupped his hands over his mouth in a tiny laugh that translated as *chuckle* in his speech.

< Can you take one out and show us? I'd like to try them as soon as possible. >

"Of course. You're the buyer, so anything you ask I'll do."

With a quick motion of his left arm KX pulled a small knife from a holster hidden by the back of his shirt, and he slowly popped out the bands that held the box closed for the transport. As the lid was finally free enough to be slid open, he tossed it aside with effortless ease and reached in to pull out its contents.

The first thing to be shown was a human arm tanned ever so lightly that it looked the beautiful shade of coffee and cream, and as KX pulled harder an entire body followed. It was clothed in a simple sweater that stopped just below the elbows and a pair of blue jeans, and on its feet were some sandels that seemed to be held on with wire at the moment to prevent slipping.

A shock of green hair, styled rather like KX's own but less in length adorned the top of its head and a pair of glasses, assumed to be tied for now by wire as well, decked out a youthful face.

"There we go. Here's the first body."

Nodding a bit, Adalia watched in curiosity as this odd man lit his match on his shoe. Tilting her head as she thought, she wondered just who this "KX" was. He didn't really seem like your usual engineer - he was too clean and polite despite his abrupt mannerisms. That sort of thing was what you'd expect from an intellectual, not a "grease monkey". Shrugging, she watched as he opened the first box, gasping slightly at the body he pulled out.

Glancing up at Trisste and Li'tae, she tried to guess who it was that the body belonged to - quickly concluding it must be Trisste, as Li'tae would never be caught dead in a sweater like that. He was too...mean to wear something sophisticated and bookish. Smiling, she couldn't help but laugh. "Is that one for you, Trisste?"

Motioning over towards the other box, she tilted her head slightly, "What's in the other one, KX?" She really wanted to see how Li'tae had imagined himself if he was a human. These hackers came up with some fascinating ideas it would seem. And it also appeared they had evolved a lot more than had been originally anticipated. Adalia found herself wondering just how far the original designers had expected the AI to go - how human they had meant to make them.

Looking Trisste's android body up and down, Li'tae nodded appreciatively. He had to admit - KX was good. Much better than he'd imagined. Glancing over at Adalia he grinned - this would be a lot of fun. He was happy she'd asked what was in the other one, now he didn't have to appear as giddy as he felt.

<This could be a LOT of fun...>

Now, to just not grin like a fool while he waited for KX to open the other one. Waiting patiently, it seemed, was a lot harder than he'd anticipated.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 27, 2007 6:44 pm

"You sure you wanna know? Could be a woman's body for all that it matters."

KX smirked, albiet friendly, as Adalia's sudden interest in him once the 'bodies' were coming out of their respective boxes. It was usually this way with all his customers but it never seemed to make him grin in a response.

"So for this box, let me get it out. Just need to....set this....down..."

He carfully moved so that the body he held against his frame didn't bang against the floor in any way, and once he had it situated in his grip he moved and sat the figure down on the ground with its back resting against the trolly cart.

Taking his knife out once more he cut through the holds on the second box and preceeded to pull the figure out with pretty much the same movements as with his first.

< That's...how you picture yourself? >

Trisste looked at the body that emerged from the second box and felt his excitement grow as it was placed down next to the first, their frames leaning against one another for added support.

< You look....nice. >

The figure was fully tanned like Trisste's, albiet a little darker, and had a frame that made it about two inches taller than the smaller companion. Instead of green, dark red hair lined its features, arranged in a spikey manner that screamed 'punk' and most certainly 'Li'tae'.

The clothes matched the attitude given off by the hair down to a tee, the contrasting colors creating a perfect match between the two. Even the boots that adorned its feet completed the personal image.

"Alrighty then, both boys are out. Should I explain how they work or do you want to just jump into it?"

Rolling her eyes at the taller man, Adalia's attention quickly went to the two hackers. Who seemed thoroughly pleased with the results of the man's work. Smiling thoughtfully to herself, she glanced over at the android that was Li'tae and started to laugh.

"That is how you picture yourself, Li'tae?"

Glowering sullenly at the short girl Li'tae shrugged. He had thought it suited him perfectly - the colors were about right, in regards to how he looked as a hacker. His attitude wasn't really suitable for much other than punk/rock stuff - so he thought the body was perfect.

Grinning as Trisste complimented the android body that he would soon spend ample time in, he chuckled.

Tapping at his chin thoughtfully as the man asked if he should explain first or let them just test drive, Li'tae thought about firing back a flippant response about how they could figure it out on their own. But, he didn't want to make a total fool out of himself in one of those things, so he did the hacker equivalent of a mutter by making his text very small as he spoke.

Wrapping one arm around Trisste, he leaned into the other hacker gently, waiting for instructions on what to do.

Trisste flushed slightly at Li'tae's comment but returned it with a smile, his chat box reading '=)' at the action. It was always amusing to see their actions played out with characters in their boxes.

< Yes, please do. But if you think it would be easier to actually use one of us in your explanation.... >

"It would, actually. I happen to have a portable ISP device that you can hop on, so let me plug it in and get you on it. Kiddo, where should I plug this in? You got an out port somewhere?"

As Adalia rolled her eyes once more at being called kiddo, she pointed her hand over towards the modem. With a nod of thanks KX moved and plugged the tag into the nearest empty port, and he looked up in time to watch Trisste jump off the screen. A beep indicated his drive was now full, and pulling it out he took it over towards the body with green hair.

"Alright, here we go. The port on these boys is located behind their left ear, so to transfer in all you should have to do is plug this little beaut in."

As the ISP clicked into place behind the green-haired boy's ear, the eyes suddenly flashed open as a semi-loud ping! filled the air. They were a clear shade of ice blue, almost silver, and they blinked a few times as a whirring noise came to follow the ping.

"Okay, you're in now. Everything should be set up so you move how you want to, so all you have to do is really do it yourself and the body will respond. This, of course, is only for at first and once you're able to assimilate most of your data with this boy's own processing commands, you'll only have to use thoughts."

Almost as if he was taking that cue, Trisste's new body slowly turned his head in the direction of KX and smiled, the eyes blinking once more as the head moved back and forth. It was as he tried to move and stand that Trisste found he was having issues with balance, and after the third time of nearly toppling over a strong hand from KX grabbed him by the elbow and lifted him up.

"Thank you."

Trisste gasped as a sound - a voice - issued from the body as he 'spoke'. It was a pleasant voice, one that held as much warmth as his favorite humans, and it turned his cheeks bright red in enjoyment.

"I...I can actually speak."

"Of course. Don't underestimate me."

"I do have a name, you know." Adalia muttered as she listened to the mini lesson on the androids. Giggling as Trisste started to get adjusted to the new body, and his genuine surprise at his voice. Sitting on one of the desks nearest the trio, she wished Sionce could be here to see this. And vaguely wondered just where he was, anyway.

Nodding thoughtfully as he took in the information KX was giving them, he wondered just how hard operating those bodies would be. He recalled listening to Adalia and her friends coo about how babies were so cute when they learned to walk. Briefly finding himself horrified at the thought of her cooing over Trisste and himself in a similar manner. Hoping his learning to walk in that body wouldn't be nearly as embarrassing or cumbersome as a toddler's, he smiled as he watched his friend get used to the body.

<Well. It doesn't appear to be that hard at least...>

Folding his arms as he thought, he grinned at Trisste's surprise over his voice. Normally he would say something snide at something so silly, but was finding too much joy in his friend's obvious delight.

Making the computer he was on ping to garner KX's attention, he gestured towards himself and raised an eyebrow.

He hadn't joined Trisste on the portable device, as he hadn't been invited to, so waited about as patiently as a five year old awaits their presents on Christmas.

"Her name is Adalia, to save you from asking."

Trisste spoke again in his new voice and felt his cheeks flush up from happiness, and as a slight warmth spread over his face he turned a pair of confused eyes towards KX.

"How...how is it that I'm blushing and...can actually feel it? How can I feel the ground beneath my feet as well?"

It was true, there were so many new sensations that were overtaking his body. He didn't feel tired of course, or in pain, but there were many others things. The feel of clothing on skin, the feel of heat on his face. The sounds of people talking, an echo inside his head.

"Eh, don't worry about it. Let's just say I'm very good at what I'm paid very much to do."

KX kept his little speech short as he pulled the plug from behind Trisste's ear, and even detatched the body stayed upright and moving. he hadn't pulled Trisste out, as Trisste had downloaded himself into his new 'body', and it was safe to assume he wouldn't be leaving any time soon.

With a quick turn of his waist he popped the drive into the out port once more and watched as Li'tae disappeared from the screen, pulling the port out once it beeped that it was full. He repeated the same motion with the 'punk' body that he had with Trisste's, and as the eyes spread open to reveal another set of blue, he grinned.

"Go ahead, give 'em a spin."

Pouting as Trisste gave her name, she folded her arms across her chest and half glowered, half pouted in the boys' direction. Her glower didn't last long, though, as she found herself giggling at Trisste again.

He's so cute! Curious if Li'tae would be the same way, she found herself watching them intently. She'd known the hackers liked each other, and had wanted to really feel, but hadn't known they'd done the research to find a guy like KX. Briefly, she felt a moment of extreme happiness at the fact that the hackers had found KX, but she quickly shoved it aside, wanting to continue to pout at the man for calling her kiddo and not asking her name.

Lifting the tanned hands before his sparkling eyes, Li'tae couldn't help but grin. It was different, to see real hands before his eyes. To feel the weight of a body. His eyes momentarily reflected some sadness at the fact he likely would not move as smoothly in this body as he had in the world of data, but moving his hands to look up at Trisste, he concluded that an embarrassing experience or two learning to use these bodies was worth it.

Setting his hands at either side, he gathered his legs under them and tried to stand up with both grace and speed. Just like he'd seen Adalia do numerous times. But he underestimated the ability of human muscle and propelled himself upwards too hard, having to take an extra step to prevent himself from falling - and getting dizzy in the process, from getting up too quickly. Just like a normal person, Li'tae's step turned into a stumble as his head swam. His vision clearing just quickly enough to realize he had tripped over his own two feet and was looking to fall. Back pedaling to correct himself, he over did it and tripped himself again. A look of utter horror and embarrassment grew on his face as he realized he really had no idea what he was doing, and threw his hands out to catch himself as he fell into the box he'd arrived in.

His cheeks blazing a bright red, he glowered out from the box, unwilling to try again for the moment as embarrassment froze him in his humorous pose.
