Sunrise over the Pridelands had become Tufani's favorite time to wander. The dangers that lurked during the night were easily spottable, and there was no blazing midday heat to worry about. True, due to her black pelt she could do her best hunting at night, but she could always time it so that she was returning to her den in time to see the sunrise. So she found herself wandering, and wondering how her six children were doing on this particular day. She hadn't seen either of her daughters recently, or her grandchildren by Shin that she had heard about. Perhaps she'd discover a relative to talk to that morning.

And indeed Tufani was in luck for one of her daughters was making her way home. The pale female had been away so long, she missed her mother like a flower misses the sun, but she had things on her mind and most important of those things bounced along behind her.
Slowing her pace slightly the overly thin female turned to her little black bundle of joy. Ghilt, her only child. He was so handsome in her eyes a tiny ray of light in her confusing life.
It had taken her some time to pad away from her own den, where Ghilt had been born, to find her mother and show her tiny offpsing to her. Of course, Ghilt wasn't really that tiny she fed and looked after him to the extreeme plus he was the only cubin her litter.
"Come on Ghilt we are nearly there" She uurrs looking ahead to the familiar den where she and her siblings had grown up. She hoped her mother was still in residence.

The tiny ball of fluff that seemed to grow everyday had a grin upon his maw and he bounded in long (though in reality short) strides following his mother to a destination he did not know. Though it was an adventure all the same! he smiled, dual colors eyes peering around forever curious, wondering what might pop up along the way of their journey to areas unknown to the tiny black ball of fuzz.
He was Ghilt, and he always held hi head high.
"Are we there yet mom?" he was impatient, but wondering where they were going, he waned to know!

Reaching the rocky outcropping that lead to her den, a familiar scent on the breeze caught the black lioness' attention. Red eyes turned their attention to a white form on the horizon...and something black occasionally popping out of the grass. This was an intriguing situation; Tufani didn't know exactly who it was with her daughter. judging by the size, it could be one of her jackal siblings returning for a visit, or perhaps her mother Jani. The other's scent seemed familiar, yet distant, as if it were the scent of a friend lost for ages.
"Hello, Radi!" Tufani called out. Then, wanting to get to the heart of the matter, she asked, "Who is this you've brought with you?"

Radi was about to answer her pudgy little son when her attention was won by the greeting. A smile spread accross her maw as she swiftly moved to her mother and brushed her head under her chin. "Oh mither! i have missed you so much!" She puurrs. Clearly the pale lioness had lost alot of that sweet nieve innocents which used to glimmer in her eyes. Her body was slimmer, ehr ribs visable, life had clearly been treating her roughly.
"This mother, is your grandson Ghilt. He's my son." She turned her attention tot he little duo eyed boy then. "Ghilt, come and say hellow to your grandmother." She whispers her voice still gentle as it had always been.

Ghilt slid to a halt when he saw his mother approach some other female, his mother, who was this other female, and what did she want with his mommy? quirking a brow the dual eyed black cub watched as his mother smiled and appeared to be quite fond of this other darker pelted lioness..strange, something seemed familiar here.
"Grandmother?" but...his mom was his only mom...right?
Tilting his head in question he took a few steps closer, bu stopped now and again, then moved closer again.
What did this mean?

The grandmother lioness was confused as well, though she had a slightly better grasp of what was going on. Goodness, how much the cub looked like a young Kibela.
"Yes, sweetheart, I'm your grandmother. That means I'm your mommy's mommy," Tufani said with a grin before looking up at Radi and adding, "Goodness, I wish I had known this was the reason you were missing so long; I could have helped you with things, as your grandmother helped me."
There were so many questions reeling around in Tufani's mind, but no polite ways to ask them. She only hoped Radi would answer them all in time.

Radi smiled weakly, her pale watery green gaze fixed upon her mother for a long silent moment. "I wish you could have helped me mother, but I would never wish the place I have been upon anyone." She whispers her gaze looking to her tiny, though rather rough and ready son. "He is the only good thing that came out of that damned desert." She whispers pulling her dark boy to her chest.
"This Ghilt, is my mother and your granny, she raised me in these lands as I will raise you, happy and free." She puurrs happily grooming her sons head with a single lick before she lifted her gaze tears welling in her eyes. "I wanted to come and find you for such a long time, I had to wait, had to wait til ghilt could walk on his own though. I missed you mother, I really did."

Mommy's mommy? Ghilt quirked a brow and le his dual colored eyes travel back and forth, back and forth. He was so confused, but his mommy was his mommy, if he had to share, then fine, but she would be his first of course. He was her only son after all, and he loved her so.
"O-kay..." he said, still having a confused expression on his maw.
"I can walk, see!?" Ghilt said running circles around both lionesses as if to prove himself.
He wanted to be seen as tough and strong.

"Desert?" Tufani asked, before gasping. She recalled, briefly, seeing a brown lion who had come from that area, a lion who barely spoke and seemed more tired than the average rogue. That was a long time ago, before she had even reached adulthood, but if Radi had gone to that cruel place..."Oh Radi, I am so glad you are home..." the mother lioness said, blinking back tears. "I will help you with Ghilt as much as I can."
Then, turning her eyes to the running cub, she grinned. "You can walk quite well!" Tufani said. "You're going to make your mom and gramma proud."

Radi gave a weak smile and nuzzled her own mother happily. "I'm glad to be home too mother." She whispers looking down as her pudgy little son ran in great wide circles. She giggles softly, he was so adorable in her eyes. "He's not too much of a handful really, he's been a great comfort to me." She puurrs watching him with loving eyes.

Ghilt pranced around lifting his legs high letting his paws clamor on the earth beneath him as a smile was plastered upon his maw. Yes he could walk well, and he would make them proud, make everyone proud. he would, of course, be a grand lion one day and everyone would know his name! Grinning he stopped and peered up at his mommy with loving dual colored eyes, he was glad he wasn't a trouble to his mommy. He loved her so.
"Mommy, can we go to the water hole, please?" he was thirsty, and he wanted to run a bit too!

Tufani grinned as she watched her grandson prancing; how long ago was it that she had watched her own children do the same thing? Ghilt would grow up one day, to make his own path in the world, but for now she'd be the doting grandmother encouraging him to choose a good path.
"I think the watering hole sounds like a good idea," Tufani said, glancing at Radi. "There's one not too far from here, with nice water that's just the right depth for splashing."

Radi chuckled softly and bent down to nudge her little son, her owny beautiful child. "Of course sweety." She licked his little tuft of hair on his head and nudged him gently towards the wateing hole looking at her mother happily. She ws so glad that she had returned to the pridelands and to her mother, so glad she could show off her perfect little son to the one person she was so attached to.
"Isn't he wonderful mother?" She puurrs her soft green eyes dancing.

Ghilt puffed out his chest and grinned as his mother gave him praise, and he felt so wonderful hearing it. He loved his mother so, and was protective, though he was still young, he knew what it meant to be in a pride, lots of others around watching and waiting. He'd take care of his mommy, everyone would see that, oh yes.
He pounced forward, and took a few steps, rolled onto his back and hopped onto his paws, watching, waiting, as if calling silently to go now, that he wanted to run, and splash in the water. "Ready?" he asked, dual colored eyes glinting.
Today seemed like it would be fun.
Yea...it'd be fun.
