((This is a continuation of the RP between Manchu the Panda and I involving Desideria and Orez. Since these two are deamers...and the Festival of Dreams has passed, we'll continue the story on the Dreamer's Isle! ^_^))
Desideria continued to step through the lush forests on the Isle of Dreams. Here alone could she and others like her find peace based upon their own desires and "dreams." Given her commanding presence and beauty, the young ucolian dreamed of power. Gazing across the sea of trees surrounding her and her companion, she once again felt her mind dwelling on the idea of other dreamers. What did they dream of? Letting herself get carried away in her thoughts, she abruptly shook them from her mind. A warm breeze passed over her and her companion, Orez. He too, was a dreamer, Desideria reminded herself. Glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, the ucolian wondered vaguely. What does he dream of? The female usually high and mighty nature was currently subdued by her curiosity. Realizing how out of character she was acting, Desideria brought her mind back to the task at hand. She and Orez needed to find food; using his ears and her eyes, they had hoped to colletively hunt something tasty. Her stomach growled, successfully shredding her daydreams. With renewed vigor, the dreamer stopped and glanced behind her, waiting for her hunting companion to join her.

Orez couldn't help but laugh at the faint sound of Desideria's stomach, as with the lack of his eye sight his hearing was much more acute. His tail flopped in a playful wagging motion and he smiled at her as though to apologize for having laughed. In the back of his mind, he too was curious about the dreams of his traveling companion, though if he did have sight he could have guessed. He debated in his mind over bringing this subject up, perhaps casually mentioning that he dreamed of darkness and terror- much more morbid and dark than his personality would currently give away. But perhaps it would be best for him to save this small talk over some fresh food. "Shall we get started, then?" He asked, now standing next to her and facing forward towards the hunting ground of the Dreamers' Isle.

Desideria blushed a bit at Orez's laughter, feeling a bit embarrassed due to the 'weakness' of hunger. Eager to change the subject, she responded happily to the other's question. "Getting started sounds like a good idea." Gazing out at the hunting grounds she paused, considering tactics and strategies. "How would you like to go about doing this? We have a plethora of options." Her voice trailed off as she considered such choices. If she could track down the general area of specific prey, Orez's keen sense should enable them to lay a trap or even sneak up on the other.
A sudden knowledge snuck up on her. If a chase was involved with their prey, she would have to give chase. While confident in her abilities, she could not outrun wily creatures when carrying her scepter. Glancing quickly between Orez and her jeweled staff, she hesitated. It was one of the most prominent symbols of what she dreamed. To leave it behind... She looked up at Orez again and made a final decision. If it came down to it, she would leave her scepter with him. Already she trusted the other dreamer, probably more than was truly healthy. Content with her decision, Desideria procceeded to await Orez's ideas on how to gather food.

Orez tilted his head towards the dappled light the canopy threw upon them both and made a 'hmmm' sound deep in his throat as deep as he was in thought. "True, we should however narrow the fauna to those which I could hear well and take down and those that you could scare enough to herd towards me." Upon forming the word "scare" on his tongue, again his thoughts turned to what he dreamt of. Perhaps they could evoke something that would assist his assistant. But he shook his head. "I will lie in wait as you heard something my way, and as soon as I hear it, I'll judge the right time and pounce. That way we can both satiate our hunger." He smiled at her, yet the nagging in the back of his head of the dreams - or rather nightmares, added just a dash of pain to it.

Desideria nodded at the other's words. It was a good plan, one that would address each of their specific talents effectively. A strange feeling settled under her skin as she considered the nearest dens and foliage through which she could begin her hunt. Although she tried to brush it off, the odd sensation naggingly remained. She supposed it was because she was willingly cooperating with another: an unusual course of action for her. Her unsocial attitude had never seemed disconcerting before. Why did it seem so unsettling now? With a final shake of crowned head, Desideria mentally shoved the irksome topic from her thoughts; she would need that concentration space while gathering their food.
As Orez spoke of their hunt, an odd look appeared in his eyes. Her previously occupied mind had not noticed the change; now that her thoughts were clear, the possible reasons for his strange look raced before her. She smiled then, realizing that the spark in his eyes was probably merely the thrill of the hunt, the eagerness for the kill. Desideria too, yearned for prey to capture. "Very well. I will scour the area for some proper meal. I will spiral out from this point, circling farther away each time. If I find nothing, I will return and we shall try from another point."
Hesitating then, she gathered her resolute determination and nudged her scepter over to where Orez was waiting. Making sure that it was solidly located beside him, she explained: "This is my scepter. It is one of the purest symbols of my power and rank in this world. However, it will weigh me down and might cost us the hunt if I attempt to carry it with me." Desideria unconsciously took a deep breath, struggling to retain her royal posture. "Therefore, I would appreciate it if you kept it safe for me." She shut her eyes, trying to ignore the reality of embarrassment.

Orez didn't see the pained look of her acknowledged embarrassment cross her face, but simply smiled and nodded as she explained her plan, and accepted her scepter carefully. It felt solemn and reverent, almost, as he took hold of the cool metal, holding it solidly between his paws, and again he nodded. She was very smart in her planning, and if that were a sign of anything, they'd have full bellies by the end of the day.
Orez settled into a crouch-like position, just comfortable enough to be held for a period of time, but still tensed to spring into action when the time came to react. His ears and nose acted as vision for him, sweeping the area and painting a picture of what it possibly could look like, noises echoing to determine the topography before him, and his nose telling him what plants were close.
But what he favored the most were the sounds of Desi's heart beat, and the sound of her voice, coupled with the scent of the metal coming off her crown and scepter that surrounded the air that was her, and unique to the dreamer of power.
