Ryan sighed as he thumbed through the latest research journal, not entirely pleased with being dragged to the library. For the moment it seemed to have Chloe happy, and that almost made it worth it. Normally he would have been in the lab, but since they had heard about that clinic Chloe had been making him take days off to find out more about it.

As it was she was thumbing through a section of old newspaper, hoping to find any mention of this doctor Ronchas. So far her search had yielded nothing, and she was beginning to get frustrated. "Ryan, there's nothing in here," she said angrily, laying her head down on the table.

Darryl pursed his lips, looking from side to side across the eerily silent building. "Why are we here...?" He glanced at the women that led him, her fingers almost forcebly twined with his.

Shawnie merely glanced over at him and made a face. "Sush." She tilted her head to the side and gave an odd smile. "And just relax, would you?" In the middle of the library, she took his jacket off of her shoulders and handed it to him. "Now put this on. No one really wants to see those..."

And of course, by 'those,' she meant his small wings, sprouting from his back. Darryl made a face in return and pulled the jacket over his shoulders. "It's... what year now, love? Relax..."

His 'love' was hardly paying attention, up to a shelf of books and thumbing down the spines. Darryl sighed and lounged at a table, head in his hand idly as he watched her.

Ryan peered over at the other man who seemed to be in the same position as himeself, offering a smile of condolence. "Wife gone crazy?" He asked quietly, looking to make sure Chloe was still occupied in her search. "Mine's trying to find out about some crackpot doctor no one's ever heard about," he offered, gesturing to her.

Chloe had noticed the two people coming in, but had said nothing as she continued to rifle through the pages. There were ads for dentists and hospitals and all sorts of other things, but nothing about this Ronchas guy. There had to be something somewhere, surely Veist hadn't been lying. With her face flushed red in frustration she got to her feet and made her way to the reference books, hoping to find some sort of clue.

Darryl glanced at the other mane and have a faint chuckle, almost disappointed. "We're not married, but, to put it bluntly, yeah." He sat back up and looked to him, arching a brow. Turning his chair towards him, he cocked his thumb over his shoulder. "Don't even know what she's looking for. Probably something to do with work." He gave a tedious sigh and ran a hand through his green locks, then added, beneath his breath. "It's always something that has to do with work..."

Shawnie blinked, glancing over her shoulder at the other man who had started to talk to Darryl. Let him talk, it wasn't ike he was going to do anything useful. She murmured something near silently and turned back. Now where was that book... Her lips irked to one side as she glanced once more over the spines, clearly unamused.

Ryan nodded, gesturing to the scientific journals strewn about his table. "I know the feeling," he agreed, "But from the other side. My Chloe hates when I stay late at the labs, then whines when I have to try and catch up at home." Currently he had been working on a new breed of aloe vera, meant to combat allergic hives. "My name's Ryan," he said, offering his hand, "Ryan Walden, I'm a botanist."

"Mmh... Unfair, though strange how it always sees to work out like that..." Darryl ngav a faint laugh and took his hand. "I'm Darryl. Darryl Escarda. I..." His voice faded as he shook the hand, thinking for a momet. "Er... work back a home with authoritive stuff. Me'n Shawnie over there come down here once and a while to see eachother. Though, we're thinking about moving permenantly." Pausing a moment, he glanced over at Chloe. "If you don't mid me asking, what type of 'crackpot doctor' is she looking for?"

"Ronchas, probably another baby thing," Ryan sighed, waving a hand, "She's starting to obsess." He was a little worried at this point, even if he had been the one to start it. Curious, he raised an eyebrow, leaning toward the other, "Have you ever heard of him?"

"Baby thing?" Darryl arched a brow. "Like, a fertility thing?" He blinked a few times, glancing over at Shawnie for a moment, leaning back in his chair. "No, I haven't heard about 'im." He paused and glanced towards the ceiling. "But..." He started to think for a moment. Shawnie had seemed to be, for a long while, drifting away from reality. Perhaps a chald for them didn't seem that bad.

Ryan nodded solemnly, leaning on his forearms to get a little closer. She'd be crushed if she heard him saying anything like this. "Honestly, we've been trying to have kids for years. We've tried everything and it just isn't working. I was thinking it would be time to try and bring up adoption with her, but she's sort of sensitive about wanting to give me kids," he explained in hushed tones.

"I see..." He leaned closer a bit, one head held in the palm of a lazy hand. "Well, I wish you luck." He gave a light smile, running his other hand through his hair. Pausing a moment, glancing at the table in thought, he shrugged. "Shawnie hasn't really brought up kids. I think that she'd like it, it's just she's so caught up in work..." He gave a dry laugh before sighing a bit. Worrysome, that girl...

"Ah so she's the worker bee and you're the worrier?" Ryan laughed, laying his pen down on his notes, "I don't think Chloe has ever made a decision without fretting about it first." Ryan himself was more laid back, but never really carefree. He was set in his beliefs and they influenced his decisions about everything.
