After I saw the movie, I realized it isn't exactly horror, but I want to put it in this forum where more people should know what they're talking about as opposed to the main forums, where most of the people are stupid.
I really liked it. The ending left me depressed, but I honestly didn't guess it. There was also a joke at the end that really made me laugh but no one else in the theater got. It was a nice jab at a popular horror stereotype.
Any thoughts on the movie?

Was not very interested when I saw the trailer a few months ago. Most reviews I come across mention a twist ending (I am assuming that this would be the highlight of the film), but it does not compensate for the predictibility that preceeds it.
Hmmm, those descriptions remind me an awful lot of my opinion of Saw, and that film was a very, very huge letdown for me.

I saw it last Friday and I thought it was good. For the first time evil won and good lost....Most movies are good wins and evil loses, I thought that was a nice change...i think.
I thought it was also nice that it wasnt just bout monsters and such but about culture and beliefs. So I thought the movie was really good...I have a feeling there will be a second one and the Lady will take carolines(sp?) friend...The old woman wanted a black females body... 3nodding

Also, she said her aunt or grandmother was interested in hoodoo, so she may be able to realize what happened and try to help. I thought it was cool that the villains won too, but it left me sad that Caroline was left screwed. I guess now she's closer to being with her father again. The only other movie I can think of right now where evil triumphs is Fallen with Denzel Washington.

Eh it was okay. I noticed there were some bits in the trailers that weren't in the movie, but I guess that happens frecuently. *shrugs*

It was like a Twilight Zone episode. It was nice, it's something one would read in a traditional horror book. It's not a must see though, and the end, well the twist isn't much of a twist.

I liked it and I liked the twist at the end. I also thought it was pretty gruesome to realise the children had been hanged and burned in the bodies of Cecile and Justify.
And about that last spell that was used to create a circle of protection, that seemed to me to be an old European witchcraft spell. I've seen some of them look a lot alike. (In my historical studies, mind you. I don't pretend to be a witch or anything.)

i thought it was really good. true, its not really a horror movie, but it makes you jump alot. it had more of a plot to it, and i didnt expect that kind of ending. it was really good. mrgreen

Overall it was a pretty good movie and worth a watch.

Some things in the movie were predictable but I didn't expect a couple of things. Overall it was a pretty good movie and worth a watch. Yeah, there were some WTF! scream moments at Caroline but I forgave them considering the rest of the movie was really interesting to me.
