I'm not certain how many people are aware of this - but I definitely wanted to start a conversation about it!
[And I didn't see a thread in it going back through the old threads]

Basic Facts:
- Announced May 30th by Warner Brothers and Universal Studios
- Opening between December 15th, 2009 and June 30th, 2010.
- Project to cost between $235 - $265 million.
- JK Rowling: "The plans I've seen look incredibly exciting, and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed."

So, what do you guys think of this?
Are you interested in going?
What are you hoping they will include in the park?
What are you afraid that they won't include?

I'm so glad you started his thread! I hadn't heard of this yet. I haven't been keeping up on any HP gossip lately. sweatdrop

This park sounds amazing. I'm going to try so hard to go when it opens. Even if I have to walk! *determined*

The concept art looks great. Looks just how I imagined it. Hopefully they have the Shrieking Shack. (They should if they're including Hogsmeade.)

It would be great if they had Diagon Alley also. It would be so fun to roam through all of the shops and see Gringotts.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of the shrieking shack! That would definitely be exciting!

I'm planning on going, without a doubt. I'm hoping that we'll have access to all of the common rooms - I don't doubt that the Gryffindor one will be accessible, but I want to be able to go into Ravenclaw and take pictures! *crosses fingers*

Can you imagine what the stores will be like in hogsmeade? *grins*

The common rooms would be amazing and to see the Great Hall and the giant hourglasses would be pretty cool too.

I hope they let you buy things in all the shops they'll have. Maybe people can even go into the Three Broomsticks and get a Butterbeer. *day dreams*

OMG! When I found out I was super excited...I mean can I say it ::Roadtrip!!:: I am so determined to go and hopefully by then I will have enough money to buy the airplane ticket and such for it, since I live all the way in California. I really just want to go in and take lots of pictures. I'm just glad that they are making it in the US and not abroad.

I have known about this for a while now, and I really hope to go visit when it opens.

Is this going to be in Florida, or California/

Harry Potter would be the only reason I would ever visit either place though.

I can't wait to visit all the places i've read about. New wand here I come! ;D

Even though I plan to make a wand anyways. (I'm in the process of becoming a practicing Wiccan, but that's besides the point.)

I will deffinatly bring a bunch of cash and maybe I can even get house robes and all that. Wouldn't that be amazing? o.o

Thanks for opening this thread, Orna! I'd seen clips of Jo's response (paraphrased: "It should count for something that I wrote the books - my family can go to the head of the line...") and I'd seen the sketch of the outside of the castle- it was in the Halloween Ball thread.

But I hadn't visited the site- thanks for the links, too!

Merlin's Pants! The Forbidden Forest!!!! I hope post Aragog. I wouldn't mind seeing the unicorn foals. I do qualify, unfortunately, to see thestrals too.
And yes, it mentions restaurants and says all the food spoken of in the books will be available! And that it "will bring the magic, characters and stories of Harry Potter to life." Heh - does that mean a fan-fic attraction?

I'm soooo excited about the theme park. I think they should have a sorting hat of some kind.. and a theater for quidditch games. I bet they could totally pull that off.

Oooo, I'm dreaming. heart I hope they have house robes and different wands to buy too. I'll totally get decked out. >.<

I live in Florida and a couple of my friends went up to Universal Studios not too long ago. They said that work had been started on the park but you couldn't really tell what had been done yet.

That's cool - I was down in Orlando the other day but we didn't go to Universal, just Epcot and Downtown Disney. I'm glad to see that I haven't missed out on seeing 'sneak peeks'

I can't wait for the park to open. I just hope that they have a care of magical creatures, although I have no idea how they will. Another thing I think will be interesting is quidditch. My friends and husband are already planning on going when the park opens.
