Okay, so yeah, I'm crazy. We all know that already. But that's beside the point! This is my newest work. An original fictional work about pirates of the eastern and the western seas. The idea's been playing around in my head for some while so I'm glad that I've finally gotten the time to actually put it on paper.

It'll be a lot rougher than my other fictions since this IS just a first draft with no beta reader for it and I've got no real basis to work off of. If you would like to be a beta for this, feel free to PM me and you'll be the first receive the chapters.

Illustrations of the characters will be coming up soon, once I get off of my lazy butt to finish all of them. Other than that enjoy! ^^

Sincerely-

Serial No. 89757 - your local crazed writer.

Zodiac's Treasure

Chapter 1

The wind blew across the vast ocean. The sound of birds echoed in the background as the grand ship sailed across cleanly the relatively calm waters. The great structure rocked steadily back and forth, and its captain stood at the front, his brilliant blue eyes glinting in joy as he watched the sky seem to move along with him. The calming scent of salt water wafted up from the sea towards his nose where he breathed in joyously.

This was the life for him. This was the way that one should live. A life of freedom in the great world of the sea. The mystery, and most of all, the treasure involved in it.

His crew was among some of the best in the whole world of Yelon. They were all a joyous and eager group to be led by him.

Then again, who wouldn't want to be part of the crew on his ship? He was the terror of the east, the one who ransacked more villages than anyone could keep count of. He was the leader of everything in the east.

Ah-Long of the Eastern Pearl, the pirate among pirates.

“How much longer before we reach land, Xiao Tu?” He asked glaring against the horizon as he spoke to his navigator. “Or at least, tell me when we'll find land.”

“From what the maps say, we're in the direction of the continent of Myne. In terms of distance, we'll be there in about three days.”

“Joyous... Anything in betwee----”

The green clad pirate was cut short of his question when a brown young boy seemed to have flown out of no where and crash landed on top of his own captain.

“Ah-Long!” He cried out happily, his face lit with an energy that could never be bound in by any means. “Ah-Long! I saw land! I really did! It's that way!” The young boy cried out, jumping up and down, pointing in the direction of the land that he had seen. “From what it looks like, if the winds keep up like this, we'll be there in a few hours!”

“Good.” Ah-Long looked at Xiao-Tu and glared slightly at the navigator. “So much for three days away eh?” He jested punching the purple haired man on the shoulder slightly. “Get ready to land, good job Hou Zhi, remind me to not to smack you for landing on me.”

The young boy grimaced slightly. “I'm sorry! I was so eager to tell you, I guess I forgot...” He apologized rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

“Yeah, you forgot for the fiftieth time it would seem.”

“I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I promise I won't do it again!” Hou-Zhi cried, jumping up and down, a desperate look on his face. “I didn't mean to! I really didn't mean to!”

“Right, you keep on telling yourself that.”

“You're so mean Ah-Long!” The little boy cried out in exasperation.

“If I'm so mean, then why did you join my crew?”

“Because he wanted the treasures! What else?”

A young man crouched on the railing of the ship, looking at the two who were arguing at that moment. A smirk was evident on his face as he stared at his crew mates. The man's dark hair had been roughly cut, giving him the look of someone who enjoyed rough housing around and the tussle of the sea, his hair was spiked somehow at the top and tipped with a cerulean that matched the sea, he had let the hair at his temples grow out and had given the same treatment to the longer hair that reached his midsection. His eyes were an odd shade of gray that stood out against the sunlight that he was standing behind.

“All the treasure in the world is almost ours... we're so close...” He whispered slightly, a small smirk on his face, showing off the bright glint of hand sharpened teeth. “Just a few more... just the thought the greatest treasure in the world... who wouldn't be excited? We've already got two of the four gems needed.... that means we're half way there eh?”

“Yes... but it's still very far off. We know Aries has one... and then there's the last one... and we still don't know how much further that one is from our reach. Lao Shu... you should know better than to jump to conclusions on how close we are to the ultimate treasure.”

“Mmm... but it's better than to go on blindly. Let's just hope this one's got something worth taking as well.”

“I don't know... it looked pretty small to me... I don't know how much loot we could get from there...” Hou Zhi muttered looking in the distance at the tiny black speck that was slowly coming closer to the crew.

“The smaller the better! That means that pirates will think like you and think that there's no treasure but the good pirates will have thought that you would think like the other pirates so that way, they'll hide all their treasures there and because you think like the other pirates and the other pirates think like another, they won't think of it! So all the good treasure will be there!”

“Right... you keep on telling yourself that...” Ah-Long commented looking at the horizon. One leg was propped on the railing as he looked, his elbow rested on the raised knee, a ponderous expression on his face as he gazed at the distance. His good eye squinting slightly while the scarred white one remained impassive as he stared. “The greatest treasure of them all...” The captain murmured slightly against the now brilliant afternoon sun that shone across the sparkling waters, creating a tapestry that constantly shifted and moved.

“Come!” Ah-Long shouted, and all the people on the ship had halted their movement. “Land is coming soon! We will attack will we not? But remember! No one dies unless they attack us first!” He shouted. The crew gave out a loud cheer as the ship hit the shore.

“COME! THE TREASURE OF THE WORLD AWAITS US!” He shouted, leaping off the high railing onto the ground and landing gracefully on the sandy beach.

The people of the crew gave out another whoop of jovial air and followed suit, each one of his good friends landing next to him.

A man in brilliant red and hair that matched it, two tattoos of black ran down his face vertically down his eyes, giving his face a almost feline feel. He carried in his hand a pair of studded knuckles that he was so adept at using. They weighed listlessly on his strong, sea hardened hands, waiting to be used. A smirk was on his face.

“So... What place is this? Xiao Tu?” He asked. His speaking voice was much like a growl, there was a scratching tone to it. However, at the same time, it was low, melodious, enchanting to a point, and dangerous.

The purple clad pirate fingered the meteor hammers at his waist, his eyes darting back and forth as he scanned the horizon for any hostile life forms. “From what I can see, Lao Hu...” He muttered, his voice contrasted from his red crew partner's. It was low, quite voice that carried like the wind. Though quiet, it held a reserved power in it that revealed his inner nature. One of unpredictable speed when it came to adapting to things. “... This place is the island of Idrasta.”

“Idrasta eh?” Lao Shu muttered as he landed, crouched on the sand. He remained in this position, not moving, his hands moving slowly to the small throwing knives hidden in his belt. The pirate was completely alert as to any of the movements in the distance while the rest of the people on the ship landed onto the shore. “So... anyone got any information on the treasure here?” He asked the few who had landed after him. “Anything worth my awesome ninja skills?”

“You're not a ninja, you're a pirate.” a purple and black clad pirate barked out as he landed none too gracefully on all fours onto the sand, sliding and sinking a bit on the gritty substance. The purple clad pirate's face had been pierce in the eyebrow several times, the chains connecting to the piercings and then connecting to his ear blocked his vision slightly though he didn't search for any signs of life as the others did with his eyes, instead, he sniffed the air for any odd smells. “Seriously Lao Shu, when are you going to learn? You're not a ninja, you'll never be a ninja, you're a pirate. And that's the way things roll.” He growled standing up looking around at the place that they had landed. “I can smell a large amount of metal in that direction, It's either a mine, a deposit of lots of metal or it's a town.”

“Alright. I say we go.” Ah-Long said waving his hand at the elven other crew members.

A loud cheer erupted from the crew as they all went towards the area with most metal. The aspect of treasure laying heavily on all of their minds. “Let's get us some treasure!” was the chorus that was heard throughout the procession.

And thus, the journey of a lifetime began, the journey to the greatest treasure in the worlds.
