It always always happened when he was minding his own business...the little...odd things in his life that seemed to indicate that he was to be sent along on another mini-excursion to meet someone new. Farlest never minded these little not-notes placed at his metaphorical doorstep, he'd just never thought that the bearer of such would be the fuzzy, mewing sort.
A questioning 'mrow' sound indicated the presence of the furry intrusion, and Farlest stopped what he was doing immediately, wide green eyes blinking down at the inquisitive creature. "Hullo, puss~" He greeted, kneeling down and offering his hand to the cat. "Where did you come from?"
As many cats do, it tilted its head, rubbing up against Far's knuckles with a little purr, and the teen was instantly entranced. "Aww...you're so cute!" He cooed, having fallen head over heels in kitten love. Carefully, he scooped the little animal up, noting that it had a collar. "Oooh...I bet someone's missing you, huh?" Fingering the tag, it announced that the cat belonged to another student, and that student's name was apparently Scyeth.
With a sigh, he cradled the cat against his chest, and trundled off, heading to go find this Scyeth person's room and return his pet...hey, it might be a good opportunity to meet someone!

Banish had gotten out. Again. Yes, again. What was this, the fifth time this week? And you know what? The little black cat never escaped when RuiZhi opened the door; it was only when Scyeth entered the dorm, the feline would squirt out and make a run down the hall. The first few times, Scyeth had been too stunned to grab him right away, but by the last escape, the blond had him in three strides. This time, however, Scyeth had a book in his good arm, so not only was he fumbling with the door, he was trying to keep a hold on his stuff and avoid falling off his skateboard when the cat got out. Needless to say, he had no idea which way the cat ventured.
Why was Banish so stuck on escaping, anyways?
And so, with that long-winded explanation, our favorite blond was rolling down corridors aimlessly, peeking around corners for his pet. He didn't bother calling for said pet, when he knew his cat wouldn't answer. Banish didn't like him much, but he was fine with that. Scyeth didn't like that cat much either; his father had insisted he brought him anyways. He shook his head as he rolled by a boy petting a cat. Huh. He didn't know other kids had cats too. Maybe that's why Banish kept escaping, he wanted to-
...wait.
Scyeth skidded to a stop and whirled around, rolling over to the boy.
"...I think you have my cat..."

Far halted, blinking, and then a wide grin spread over his face. Oh! This must be Banish's owner then! Stroking the cat's ears, the slender boy trotted over to meet Scyeth. "This is your cat? I was looking for you then!" Farlest seemed delighted that his purpose had been accomplished so very easily....otherwise he might have scurried all over the campus in search of Banish's owner.
With another blatant cuddle of the animal, he then offered the furry creature back to its rightful owner. "Does he get out often?" It seemed like the little fellow was something of a regular escapee the way that Scyeth was acting. Shifting the strap of his back on his shoulder, Farlest was sort of bouncing...full of energy and enthusiasm. "I didn't know we could keep cats here...otherwise I might have one...because I guess a dog is probably out of the question, I like both, however."
For those interested, yes...it was Far's natural nature to prattle on and ramble just a tad...but he meant well and was friendly in the extreme.

Scyeth eyed his obnoxious cat, who was happily purring as the other boy stroked his fur. When Farlest offered him back, Scyeth wasn't quite sure what to do. He looked down at his free arm, and than his other arm in a sling. He couldn't hold Banish with one arm, the feline would surely squirm away within seconds. So the Australian just stood and listened as the black-haired boy rambled on, nodding now and again. "Oh yeah. All the time."
"Oh. Um. Banish is special," Scyeth tried to explain. "I didn't really want to bring him, but my dad insisted. He probably spoke to the headmaster about it." He shrugged. "Uh. Would you mind carrying him? He'll try to escape when I take him and..." Scyeth just motioned to his sling, unable to actually bring himself to mention it. He needed to change topics now.
"Uh. My name Scyeth, by the way." He offered his good hand for a shake. Well, good arm, really, but a sling took up arm, wrist, hand, all of it. "Thanks for finding my cat!" He needed to make friends if his pet was going to cause problems.

Farlest didn't at all mind keeping the feline for the moment, cradling the animal close and continuing to pet it and give it the occasional scratch behind the ears. "Why does he try to get away from you? Does he just not fancy you or something? That seems odd if he's so important."
"But he is such a pretty cat..." Farlest praised, shifting the kitty in his arms in order to free one of his own hands so that he might shake Scyeth's. "Ah! Good to meet you, my name is Farlest. Farlest Kanataki. Are you new here as well? And it's no trouble...if he ever gets out again, at least I'll know who to bring him to." He assumed that he would be toting the fuzzy animal to the other's room, and he didn't at all mind doing so.
Each new person met was a potential friend to the dark-haired teen, and Scyeth seemed to be a nice enough sort of fellow, and besides that, he had a cat, which instantly raised him in Farlest's esteem.
