It was late in the afternoon, the air still warm enough to enjoy the brilliant colors of the leaves that remained on the trees outside of the bookstore. While their owner sat on a nearby bench drinking hot chocolate, reading a new hard-cover novel, and stroking a smaller-than-normal white and blue Libris with glasses and a floppy witch's hat, two other Libris lounged in the shade of a rather orange tree.

Qiuhua giggled and held a paw to her mouth as a large leaf landed on her mate's little white dragon Hakuryuu, who promptly cooed unhappily and shook the offending object from his head. He whined and Qiuhua smiled.
"Awww, poor baby," she cooed back at him and gently stroked his head.

"You spoil him, Qiuhua. Pretty soon he won't remember who I am," Hakkai said from where he lay facing her, his head on his paws and his trademark smile on his maw.

"Perhaps he needs to be spoiled a bit. Men never know how to treat little ones properly," she retorted with a cheeky little smile at the male. He looked at her for a moment and she looked back before they both laughed.

"I did hear that monkeys sleep a lot," Qiuhua replied, trying to look serious but failing miserably with the smile on her face. Hakkai turned to look at Donghua and tilted his head a bit, light from the sun catching his monocle.

"Why don't you wake him up, then? Or have you already tried that?" he asked and Qiuhua reached over and whapped his ear lightly.
"Perhaps I should wake you when you're napping next time and we'll see how you like it," she retorted and turned back to her little sister. "Unless he's been sleeping for forever and should be awake by now."

Meanwhile, Hakuryuu had flown off to investigate this sleeping monkey-cat, landing on the branch and and tilting his head very bird-like before taking a bit of hair in his mouth and tugging experimentally.

"Oh, I don't think he cou-" Qiuhua began, but was interrupted by Goku's sudden landing.

Hakuryuu chirred out a laugh as he spiraled down and around Goku's head before flying back to perch on Qiuhua's shoulder, as Hakkai was still lying down. The grown female giggled at look on Goku's face.

"Well that worked. Well done, Hakuryuu," Hakkai chuckled and his dragon friend cooed a happy response, his red eyes closed with pride.

Qiuhua padded over to Hakkai and sat beside him, nuzzling his head a bit before smiling at Goku, giggling again.
"We were just discussing whether to wake you or not, and Hakuryuu took it upon himself to decide," she explained. Hakkai rubbed his nose against her paws and she smiled down at him before looking back up to Goku."You didn't hurt yourself in the fall, did you?" she asked, a bit of concern flashing across her face.

"Well, that's a relief," Qiuhua replied and looked to Donghua. "He's awake now. I imagine you wanted to play something? Or did you have something else in mind?" She thought that Hakkai should get up from being lazy as well and made a face at him who just smiled back at her, stood, and licked her cheek.
"I imagine someone's going to ask for food in less then a minute," Hakkai whispered in Qiuhua's ear, chuckling a bit as he pulled back.
