What a coincidence! I just rented the movie "Transformers" to watch while all the grown-ups talk during Thanksgiving dinner.

I work at Lowes in the paint department. As for what I do I go to college full time and work part time. So basically just those two things, I usually don't get a chance for much else. How about yourself?

Happy post- turkey day everyone! I loved Hairspray, and I also rented Transformers - but haven't had a chance to watch it yet!
My Thanksgiving was great but weird - for the first time, no turkey!?! as the folks who invited me are organic vegetarian gardeners whose produce go to the finest restaurants. The food was great, and the desserts even better. We had a gratitude circle, where everyone shared what they were grateful for. (There were two ministers there, one Catholic, one church of Religious Science). I brought an Iroquois thanksgiving prayer that thanked everything, I mean everything, the Earth, trees, food plants, medicine plants, water, fish, birds, animals, sun, moon, thunder beings, etc. The only one not mentioned by name, practically, was JK Rowling! There was a paragraph for each, and we passed the prayer around, taking turns reading it.
I read the Opening prayer " now are minds are one" (each paragraph ends that way) and I also read the paragraph thanking the four winds. When it was done, everyone wanted a copy, so luckily Scott has a copy machine in the office in the house! Then two of them brought out guitars, and some hand drums and we sang, mostly folk songs and some Beatle songs. I left towards midnight.
Then last night, my acupuncturist invited me to a huge mansion owned by friends from India to celebrate the birthday of Sai Baba. So I had tons of Indian food, watched a beautiful traditional Indian dance by a young girl and her grandmother (maybe her great grandmother) who was still lovely and graceful and strong at ummm 80ish? and I got to smile and clap a lot, as I don't speak Hindu or Sanskrit. So it was a weird Thanksgiving but very heartwarming!
Hope everyone saw great movies! I don't know how many I'll get to see before they leave the theatres; I missed "The Seeker" which is based on a great series called the Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. On my list to see are Mr. Magurion August Rush The Golden Compass (the book was wrenching but exhilarating, and I saw previews and props and costumes close up at Comic-Con. Amazing!) The Bee movie Enchanted.
I'll leave this thread here through the weekend, then move it to Chatterbox, where technically it belongs. But I'm glad March Hare` posted it here to start.
Oh, and I hope everyone checks out the Banners thread- we had some Really Lovely ones that came in on Thursday and Friday.
