The Bite Marks.
I like the scorpion sting
I like the poison in my veins
I like the gritty sand
And I like the acid rains
I ask the snakes to cut me
Scaling over my skin
I ask the sun to burn
And to be blown by the wind
Am I wrong to need the pain?
To wish for the structure of control
To place myself in the safe and known
Of an understandable role.
Turn away in disgust, if you like
I don't want you here.
Leave me to my secrets
And leave the poison near.
Only those who understand the snakes
Only those who know the thrill
Can ever be close to me
And only those ever will.
