NAME:
DEEP SPACE

DESCRIPTION:
Deep Space encompasses the vast emptiness between habitable planets and star systems. It is nowhere and everywhere. In this area there is nothing but open space with stars, gas, and vast amounts of dust lightyears off in the distance. There is everywhere to run, but nowhere to hide, unless you get lucky and come out of warp into a nebula or massive dust cloud. But for the most part, deep space is full of just that. Space, and alot of it. If you are knocked out of warp for some reason during your travels you will exit into deep space, and you'd better hope your attackers are gentle, because if not, you may not see another star system for quite some time.

LOCATION:
Deep Space is in between any and all destinations unless a person has been traveling for enough days to reach a system by the time they are taken out of warp.

PEOPLE:
Chances are you'll meet two or three kinds of people in Deep Space. Pirates, rogues, and criminals, someone who answered your distress call and will help you, or the dead hulls of broken ships floating endlessly in the void.

CLIMATE:
It is very cold...in space.

RESOURCES:
Massive resources can be found in deep space, especially if you manage to find a dead hulk of a ship in the area to salvage equipment from. Though, this is almost NEVER the case. Other than that, its very cold, and very barren in this department.

OTHER SYSTEM INFORMATION:
The first thing you should do when entering Deep Space is to worry about your way out, because without that, you will likely become much more used to the void than you'd ever want to be...

S-20

The USS Wolf was nearing the nebula, about three days away actually. It had been a long time, but it was David's turn at the holodeck again. The last four times he was thwarted by absolutely absurd things. This time though, he was prepared.
Acting very childlike by now, he took tom with him and attempted to "Sneak up" on the holodeck. Down the halls they quietly stepped, attempting not to "Alert" it. After reaching the corner, David peeked around and took a glance at the room. It was just sitting there, like it should, but David wasn't "taking any chances".
He threw his badge out towards it, and quickly hid behind the wall. Most people would've called him insane by now, but he was, at this point, VERY superstitious. After creeping towards it he reached out for the panel. In an almost cartoonish twist of events, Tom sneezed, and a Doctor charged down the hall with a patient. She bumped into him and turned to appologize.
Sorry sir, Didn't see you there.
Absent mindedly, David spoke, regretting he said anything the instant he did.
It's alright... What's with him?
He's taken too much work related stress. He needs recreation ASAP. I heard this slot was open, and booked it for him.
O-open?!.... But I!........ I thought....
Obviously not hearing his pleas, she steered the guy towards the holodeck and began telling him off.
You need this time for yourself! You've been working 20 hour shifts!
B-but, they need me own there, they're lost without me... and I-
No!, You're already showing signs of mental fatuige, not to mention physical! No, you need the.... Captain?
Just noticing the captain left, she shrugged and continued to order him into the holodeck.

Estimated Time to Arrived in Phantom Nebula: 30 Days

As Captain Max remained on the Captain's Seat, Capt. Mir felt drowsy and he is about to sleep in the bed. At that time Capt. Nic was awake looking for different Galaxies in the Beta Quadrant.

Captain Max was very tired and Capt. Nic further requests that he will be taking control over the cockpit driven by Capt. Max. Following the Quadrant Map the location of Phantom Nebula, he then navigate towards the Nebula 30 days from which they stand in a Sector Plane. That direction is followed as per direction and instruction by Max.

Estimated Time to Arrived in Phantom Nebula: 22 days

Captain Nic allowed the US Alnitak Nova Class vessel to moved in a constant velocity of Warp 3. By the time Max and Mir woke up from bed, they decided to take meals.

"I do not even know what time is it now. I am confused if we are taking breakfast or supper today."

"I have my chrono device indicating the Stardate. It's Morning and our meals for today is Pancakes and Muffins."

"Okay, Gonna eat today so we can't be hungry at travel."

"I am still wondering if we can measure how gigantic is the Nebula. Let's use a Celestial Sphere that we measure and plot stars, galaxies and nebulas in terms of declination and right ascension."

"I know of your intention. It's just like measuring the planet in terms of its latitude and longitude, with IDL (International Date Line) and (GMT)Greenwich Meridian Time, and the Equatorial Region.

"Then please add the Equatorial tilt on its axis."

"I think the universe has no inclination on its axis."

This is how to measure in terms of Declination and Ascension. First, beginning with Celestial Equator, the declination is measured using 0, +1, +2, etc.. and -1, -2. The positive integers indicate that the stars plotted are located above the Celestial Equator. If negative, then it is south.

Right Ascension is measured in terms of h/mm/ss (Hour, Minute, Seconds). Not necessary a time frame, but the purpose is location only. Unlike in Longitude that measures in terms of degrees, the right ascension is measured in terms of "hours".

"What is the beginning point in plotting the stars around the Celestial Sphere?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 8:45 pm

Capt. Mir said:" The Center Core of the Milky Way Galaxy. Astronomers used the Milky Way as a Center of the Celestial Sphere, meaning, the Sphere represents the entire Universe. Then, Milky Way is the Center of the Universe.

Declination: 0
Right Ascension: 0 h 0 m 0 sec"

"I was confused at first but what you said is true. I understand now. However, Celestial Sphere coordinates is not applicable in determining the location of Phantom Nebula because it is inside the Milky Way Galaxy. It is used only in plotting galaxies as Outside the Milky Way or its Neighboring Galaxy."

"Then where do you locate the Small Magellanic Cloud?"

"Not exact location. Supposing it is declination -20 Right Ascension 0 hour 35 min. Just only an example, and this is not true. I jujst illustrate how declination and Right Ascension works."

"The higher the "number" in the hours, the Right Ascension in the Celestial Sphere goes to the left."

"The data is very important, Capt. Mir. Since all the stars, Systems, Galaxies and Nebulas are located inside the Milky Way Galaxy, Celestial Sphere coordinates is not applicable. It is measured in terms of 20-20 Sectors."

"Precisely. An ordinary Spacecraft and Space ship will take 20 light-years to cross one Sector. It is already equal to the speed of Light. If they are slow, then it will take longer. Then we're too senile for the unfinished explorations."

"Fellas, we only use Warp Speeds since using kilometers or miles demands a great numerical computation. The Maximum Warp Speed that the Vessel Accelerates is Warp 9. Beyond that, our calculation is infinite and produces inaccuracy and error."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:08 pm

"Haha, when we use kilometers or miles, use scientific notation, like 15 x 10 raised to 6, equivalent to 15 million. The exponents 6 means the number of zeros in the base 1."

"I think Warp Speed Factor is the standard unit of measurement used by Federations, Romulans and Klingons, that will be all, so nothing to bother with cracked-brain analytical computations."

"Okay, we're all gifted."

"Not much."

Then all three laughed with joy.

"I think it's impractical to pinpoint stars, galaxies and nebulas outside the Milky Way using that coordinates. They're too trivial and banal; lacking in importance."

"We then Catalog the discovery not a particular star but in collective form or aggregates, known as Super Clusters. Astronomers named it in terms of Abel Super Cluster like, Abel 3456, 2314, 5432, etc..."

"That's beyond what ordinary space-faring mission could understand. They will use it someday if they were able to discover the new civilizations and planets located there."

"Do you believe new races would likely be discovered outside the Milky Way?" Capt. Max said.

"I highly doubt it. Diversity of races are concentrated here inside the Milky Way. Some of the Systems are uninhabited, but others are living in the once-discovered planet in the System where no man has ever gone it before." Capt. Nic said.

"Same with Adm. Nic, I highly doubt it. The Universe is too large for new races to live and breed therein." Capt. Mir said.

"Do they have their own emblems and Insignia?"

"Yes, they are. Aside from Federation, Romulan and Klingon, they have their own like Ferengi, Vulcan, Drayans."

"Amazing. They have their established civilization.
Do you have any data about Drayan Races? What is their profile?"

"I have. The age of Drayans moved backwards. Their physical characteristics started to become younger as their capability and maturity like adults grown."

"Then we look like them. Descendants of Drayan."

"Confirm ourselves with the DNA and RNA Test if we are Drayans or an ordinary human beings."

"I have supplemental information. Betazaoids, Bajoran and Drayans have a human-like attribute, but special in its own way, like Betazoids can sense human emotions while human themselves are not."

"Wow, that's great."

U.S.S. Mythic
43rd Fleet - Alpha Flight [Flagship]
Fleet Captain Toko Akumu
Warp:8
Heading: The Obsidian System

They Mythic cruised through space, bound for the Obsidian System. Toko and his partner Jacob had heard rumors of large deposits of Dilithium ore in the system as well as the possibility of it being a prime staging point for their budding 43rd Fleet. A Defensive station there would open up new oppertunities in the quadrant for people from all parties, setting a staging point for further exploration.

Toko sat down at his desk, sipping his Jasmine Tea as he hailed Jacob on a private channel.

Fleet Captain Toko Akumu
Hey Jacob you still up? I know its a little late for a call." He said joking as he took a sip, waiting for the reply.

U.S.S. Fenrir
NCC-82063
Flagship

"We are strange, for we know ourselves."

Location: Deep Space

Warp Factor: 8

The powerful engines of the Fenrir worked hard to maintain the ship's current speed of warp 8 - Jacob had decided it would be best to give Fox some extra time to amass the funds the 43rd Fleet would need to set up operations in the Obsidian system, and hadn't ordered the usual speed. Heading in the direction of the system of question, it was nearing night (by the ship's chronometer, in any case) when Scully told Jacob a hail was coming through from Fleet Captain Akumu. O'Donnell took the hail in his ready room, settling comfortably in his chair as he did so.

Fleet Captain Jacob O'Donnell
For you, Toko, it's never too late for a call. The Fenrir's on its way to Obsidian, and McCloud is working his way through some freight runs as we speak. What's on your mind?
