stare The Kataangers and Maikos? They're mean. Like Kataangers will be like 'Our ship is canon!' And same with Maikos..I mean I have a friend who ships Kataang and She doesn't go around bashing my ship! neutral

Well, I wouldn't say that no Zutarian has ever bashed, there are bad apples in every barrel that make a bad name for their entire ships...But I will go on what I've experienced myself and say that yeah, it is more the Kataangers in this case.
Some of them just don't seem to think that we have any right to interpert things the way we do. Or just to ship the couple we do. I guess some of them just don't understand the meaning of shipping. You can ship something like Appa/Momo or something really off the wall, and you have every right to, even if others don't ship it.
And actually, Kataang is only canon as a one-sided crush, at this point anyway. Tokka is canon, but in the same way. And as for Maiko, supposedly being the Zuko pairing that will remain a constant, well, yeah, right. Look at Yue and Sokka-that was canon at one point, but not only did it not end up as final, but Sokka is now involved with Suki.
The thing is, Mike and Bryan based these characters and their developments after real emotions and traits. Just because Zuko is with Mai now, doesn't make him immune to future break-ups and then new relationships. And unrequitted love exists in real life. Sometimes feelings just aren't returned. And Sometimes relationships just don't last.
Bashers of opposing ships Really should keep this in mind. Thing is they don't. They just need to open their minds a little. At least enough to know enough to not shamelessly bash other people for their pairing preferences.
Just remember not to sink to their level and keep a level head, because if we repsond the way they claim we do, we're only prolonging their stereotype of us.

I've been hearing that Zutarians are easily hurt, but considering how hateful some of the other shippers are, I guess whining isn't that bad...

However, if you'd like to make this thread focused on Maiko vs. Zutara, than feel free to do so. It's just that the Kataang side of the discussion already has its own topic.

As Teh_Sheba already said, there are a few Zutarians who participate in the shamefull act of bashing, though it doesn't seem like there's quite as many as there are in other ships.
As for why they act that way, I think it's a mix of two things:
1) They view our preferences as impossible or ridiculous, and this gives them the right to talk badly about us and our ship.
2) They are immature/closed-minded.
Basically, they can't understand why or how we like what we do and, instead of just politely asking for an explanation, call us dellusional and/or stupid.
At least, that's my take on it...

But I agree. Maiko certainly isn't looking too good right now, but it's not completely over. However, since Zuko is now going with the Gaang, there's a better chance of him and Katara getting together.
