The blue lioness had wandered the lands for quite some time, making sure that she did her best to cover her tracks. She never wanted to see another soul from her old pride ever again, because if she did, she knew that it would mean death. An heir, abandoning her pride? Definately death.
Fate had not treated her as well as she had hoped, though, and almost two years after she had left, Bara had managed to trip upon her sister, none-too-happy with the situation that she had gotten herself in. Between tearful joys of being reunited again, she learned that Zuri was sent from home to find her, and bring her home to their pride to suffer their father's wrath. Zuri had feared that she had taken too long to find her sister, though, and soon abandoned her search, adapting to life in the southern lands that she was told to never enter. Bara had managed to find her sister full of child, and not too pleased with that.
Now that they were moving again, away from the jungle where her nieces were born, Bara's life had completely changed again. Missing one cub, which the family feared dead, they decided to move themselves back to the pridelands, if only for a time. The sisters had decided together that it would be safest for the cubs to grow there before they moved on again, looking for a home to now live in.
Zuri had been leading the way all day, and only now did they rest, with the falling light of the day all around them. Soon it would be night, and they would pick themselves up again when the sun broke through the sky the following morning. Bara was now in charge of watching the kids while Zuri went to find them something to eat, even if it wasn't much.
"Tahari," she calmly stated, calling out to her niece. She wanted to check in on her, to see if her mother had told her anything recently. Bara did not like to ask in a direct way, and knew that Zuri would use her befuddled sense of wording to get out of what she asked. Tahari was quite different, and though she didn't take too much after either of them, at least she was blunt like her.

Tahari just loooved her aunt so much, she would nearly do anything for her. She didn't know that much about her, but whenever Bara called for her, she felt important, and needed. Even if everything she usually asked was about her mother, she knew it was for the better good to tell her everything she knew. So when Barafu called for her, she expected it to be about her mother again.
"Auntie Bara," Tahari replied, trotting towards Bara briskly. Though they weren't of the same toned blue, she still felt like they looked so much alike, and loved their blue pelts. It was something to help her forget about the missing Ruka, who was the only sister to pick up the colour of their mother's coat. Tahari horribly missed her sister, and didn't believe that anything bad happened to her. Perhaps something scared her and she ran off. Maybe not like Ash, but you never knew.....the only thing that Tahari didn't like was getting dirty, but now she was going off on a tangent.
Her green eyes shined as she stared up at her aunt, her necklace shifting with the sudden movement of her head. No one knew just how the flower stayed between her ear, but as long as it wasn't missing, Tahari was as happy as could be.

Bara smiled when the little juvenile girl padded up to her with excitement. Such a silly girl, not knowing much about the world, but carrying everything with such trust and vigor. She envied Tahari, wishing that she could feel the same way about things. With everything that she did know about the world, even if it was just her world, she knew that she could never think like that again. But she would do her best to make sure that these cubs would be as happy as they could be for as long as they could be.
"How do you think your mother is doing?" she asked quietly, hoping to not attract the attention of the other cubs. Zuri had seemed much better now that they were traveling back to the Pridelands. Perhaps she had managed to make friends while she was there before or something, and so that was what put a little spring into her step.
There was one thing that continued to bother Bara, though, and that was a lack of any knowledge about the father of the cubs. She didn't think she could get it out of Zuri, but she also didn't think that Zuri would ever tell her daughters about it. Not as long as they were still this young.
