Keirro was happy. She couldn't recalled the last time she was so excited about a visitor coming over. She was even considering canceling her plans with her friends just so she could spend more time with this visitor.
She placed in her earrings, Pink pearls that contrasted beautifully with her mocha colored skin. She put on her favorite color of lipstick and tidied up her white blouse. She wasn't dressing up for her friends, she was dressing up for him.
Ranis gnawed on a powder compact and sneezed as the dust particles flew everywhere. To him, make up was a curiosity. He had already experimented with eyeshadow and lipstick and his face was covered in shades of coffee, cream, greens and pinks. He looked like a Picasso painting come to life. He could sense that Keirro was excited, though he didn't know why.
He looked up in admiration of his guardian. His mommy was so pretty. He loved her so much and he felt joy when she was happy. All he wanted to do was please her.

There would be a brief roar of an engine as Silver pulled up on his Harley, wearing a pair of tight leather pants, a pair of specially made boots, and a long leather jacket. He was shirtless, as usual, despite the weather. He'd put his earrings from his teen years back in, the multitude of rings jangling in the wind in his left ear. as well as the small winged sword that hung from the bottom. Parking in front of Keirro's house, he'll turn off the engine and put down the kickstand, giving a little smile as he waved at one of the neighbors.
Keirro had mentioned that she had plans to go out with her friends, and had asked him to come over and keep an eye on Ranis. Which he had no problem with, but he also had a vague idea of maybe keeping Keirro home with himself. Unfastening his saddlebags, he'd toss them over his shoulder, and stride up towards the door, whistling slightly, almost gleefully.

Ranis could hear Silver walk up the door and started to bark excitedly at the door while running. The little toddler opened the door and ran into Silvers arms. He charged with the force of a football player making a tackle. e was curious to know if Silver could handle his growing strength.
"Ranis!" Keirro cried as she tried to catch the toddler. She rushed from her bathroom, and ran through the living room. She watched the half pint charge at Silver and stood in the doorway in her usual standoffish pose, though she was secretly fighting to hold back a smile.
"You think you can handle him tonight?"

As Ranis charges, Silver will kneel, and scoop him up, spinning with him before setting him on his shoulder, chuckling. "Hey there big guy. You're growing in leaps and bounds, arn't you?" He'll chuckle again, and at Keirro's voice, he'll turn and look at her before giving out a wolf whistle and a smile. "My dear, I can more then handle him tonight. I could handle both of you with ease."
He'll give a devilish smirk, and walk towards the door and her, steps placed carefully, almost like a wolf stalking its prey, and his smirk widened into a grin as he got closer.

"And what do you think you are up to?" Keirro grinned. She wasn't the type to beg, but she was seriously considering staying with Silver. She wasn't going to do it, unless he asked. Keirro grinned back at the wolf and blocked Silver's way into the house.
Ranis hugged Silver as he watched Keirro make her stand. Silver made mama happy. And anyone that could do that made him happy as well. He could sense the two adults being devious and it made him michevious as well.

He'll give a smile, and stand in front of her, Ranis still balanced on his shoulder. "Trying to convince the beautiful woman in front of me to stay home with me instead of tossing me to the wild child while she goes out and parties?" He'll wink to show he's joking, and step close, pulling her into a one armed hug, laughing deep in his chest, eye sparkling.
"Besides, if you stay around, I may be able to be convinced to cook Italian. Not that I'd ever stoop to bribing someone. Never. Not in a million years. Nope." He'll wink at ranis, who he'll shift so he can hold on to his hair for balance, freeing his other arm.

"A wolf that can cook italian? Now this I have to see." laughed Keirro as she hugged Silver. She led Silver and Ranis into the living room and started rummaging through board games. She pulled out a game of chutes and ladders.
"When do you guys want to eat?" she asked as she started to also dug through her collection of video cassettes. She found a children's animated feature and tossed Silver an inviting glance. "I'll make us some coffee after we're done eating."
Ranis started to tug impatiently on the Fa'e ears. He wanted to play now! "Rawrrawr!" he growled with a big smile on his face.

Giving a chuckle, he'll follow, enjoying the view. As she digs out the board game and the tape, he'll smile, and look at the board game, intrigued, having never seen such a thing. "I'm ready to eat whenever. So I leave it up to you two to pick a time to eat. I brought the ingredients and the tools." He patted the saddlebags over his shoulder, smiling a little as he set Ranis down, shifting the saddlebags to set them down against a wall.
"And I'll have you know that I can cook not only Italian, but Mexican and Japanese as well. I'm not a master chef, but I can cook simple dishes at least." He'll smile, and walk over to Keirro, kissing her forehead. "After all, I've been living on my own, and its not like I can exactly walk into most restaurants..."

Keirro smiled as she walked into the kitchen to prepare some warm cider for Silver.
"The only thing I'm good at making are drinks. I once had a brief stint as a bar hostess. I can do a few simple things, but all I keep now is rum ever since Ranis came into my life. I suppose we could eat after we play a round of whatever Ranis wants to play." said Keirro.
"I wanna play this game!" Ranis cried as he got out a game of scrabble. His little fangs gave his smile a menace as his green eyes reflected light like an animal's would.

He'll just give a slight chuckle, and sit down on the couch. When ranis comes running over with the game, he'll take it from him, and look it over. "Well, you'll have to teach me how to play it, but i'm up for a game if you are Ranis." He'll give a little wink, and set the box down on the table, opening it to look inside. Honestly, he'd never even seen a board game before, other then in a store, so he was a little lost...

Keirro smiled as she prepared the cider and brought the mugs out into the living room. She couldn't help but laugh as she gently removed the scrabble game from Ranis's fingers.
"He can't even spell yet. How about... a nice game of Chutes and Ladders?" said Keirro as she brought out a colorful board game decorated with numbered squares, ladders, and slides. Keirro handed Silver a mug of cider and brought out the game pieces
Ranis pouted as the scrabble game was wrestled so effortlesly from his tiny hands. His crossed his arms and sat on the ground with a sour look at his face. He wanted the letter game!
"No!" he spat as he threw a game piece across the room.

Chuckling, Silver will reach out to ruffle Ranis's hair. "There there kiddo. Learn to spell, and I'll come over and play this 'scrabble' game with you, okay?" He'll take the mug of cider, and take a sip from it, smiling a little. "Chutes and Ladders I seem to remember from when I was a kid. I remember someone playing it at the Fa'e HQ once when I was there. It seems like so long, but really it wasn't." He'll frown a little, resting his head on one hand. "Sometimes I wonder how a few years can seem like a lifetime."

Keirro frowned as she gave the cranky toddler a stern look.
"I find it hard to believe that Ranis is only a few months old. He's getting bigger than most of the kids his age and that temper of his is almost unbearable. Then there's the fact that I've met you." she gave Silver a warm smile and kneeled down next to Ranis.
The young boy looked away from Silver and Keirro, but didn't utter another word. He instead opted to investigate whatever it was the two adults were drinking. Ranis sniffed silver's cup.

"IF I remember correctly, I was a teenager by the time I was six months old, but after that I slowed down a lot. I've looked like this for, hmmmm, i'd say 2 years now?" He'll lean back a little, thinking. "When we fa'e first started appearing, it was thought that we would only live a year total unless we reclaimed a part of our powers. Apparently they were wrong. Good thing to. So much can happen, but a year is much to short a time to live." He'll look down at Ranis, and chuckle at him. "Its apple cider Ranis. Apple Juice."

Keirro dropped her drink. The brown cider spilled over the carpet as she stared dumbfounded at Silver. He was how old? Keirro was 26 years old. Was he a minor? What was most upsetting was the realization that Keirro knoew absolutely nothing about Silver. She never pried into his past, even going as far as refusing to ask about his age or even what his race was about.
What did this mean?
"Any idea how long you will be able to live for?"she asked shakily.
"uh oh..." Ranis mewed as he watched Keirro cider start to set into the carpet.
