I'm going to my inlaws for Thankgiving. It wont be my first time attending but it will be my fist time there as his wife.
It was decided that we bring a dessert. Since I harvested alot of sweet potatos from my dad's garrden i figure on making sweet potato pie.
I'm so nervous.

I've never had sweet potato pie, but it sounds nice!
I'm English, so we don't have Thanksgiving over here. I feel kind of left out, like I'm being cheated out of a holiday... emo

We're bringing a casserole and some appetizers. I really want them to think my casserole is the best casserole in the history of food or something, lol. I really want everything to turn out well and kind of impress his mom.

We go to my in-laws and bring the kid. blaugh That's better than any food since she's their only grandkid. Besides my MIL wouldn't want to share the compliments. She's an awesome cook and if she doesn't have enuff people telling her how great it is, she insults her food so people will make a point to tell her she's wrong, the food is delicious. rofl

We are driving 3 hours back to my home town to spend 4 days with my family down there. We are taking Pecan pie, lemon cake, and sugar cookies. I can't wait!

My mother doesn't like to clean up after Thanksgiving and no family is flying in, so they invited themselves to our house. It'll be my parents, my brother and sister. And I'm hoping some family friends will be joining us.
Her parents might show up as well.
My mom will be doing most of the cooking though so she can leave us with the cleaning.

We're being invaded by my family. My parents roll in tomorrow morning, sisters on Thursday. My mom has to get here early so she can run her white glove inspection to denigrate my housekeeping, which really isn't that bad. I'm cooking dinner, but it's mostly easy stuff--stuffed pork loin, potatoes au gratin, homemade dinner rolls, fruit salad, green beans and then pumpkin pie for dessert. Like I said, an easy stress-free meal.

We're cooking then taking everything to my folks place for t-day. I'm making it all alone for the first time, but here goes: Turkey with an under the skin rub of parsley, garlic, and butter. Stuffing for the inside is a cornbread, scallion, roma apple, with home made beef broth. small sweet potatoes stuffed with brown suger, marshmallows baked. Key lime pie for dessert along with old-fashion spanish rice pudding. Buttered sweet peas in a white sauce, with beacon wrapped asparagus. Oh and don't forget good old store bought cranberry sauce! wink
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
