If one was so 'fortunate to have met Nimue and had an acquaintance with the stallion, the mutants judgement and perspective of how and why he had affection for her would be scrutinized and mocked. Yes- it was true that the mare was severely unstable, psychotic and unpredictable but Ezriel had found that there also abode a seriousness and a kindness which he had never been exposed to besides the love his mother always supplied him with. But Nimue- she was different. The Angeni unicorn was a mare who seemed to be able to sing the soul of his song, the same song which his soul solaced and cried for so long and there was something strange about her, something or perhaps her personality that reminded him of a persona of a fairytale figure. She was beautiful in a striking and eerie way almost like himself only making him feel more inclined to her.
Could a simple and 'normal' soquili ever learn to love him? He didn't feel like he belonged with them and he had distanced himself for so long that he chose to stray away from them but Nimue- no, Ezriel couldn't let himself distance away from her.
No matter what the stallion never could distance himself or forget about her.
Again those strange feelings seemed to wrap around his brain and his need to see her again caused Ezriel to venture out in search of her once again. He had traveled from the open plains of the valley, walked the shore by the beach and began treading deeper into the thick regions of the forest where the shadows abided and where he had last found her; straight ahead within a secluded clearing where light illuminated the grove yet a sense of hidden secrecy and seclusion away from the world.
Ezriel's ears flickered slightly as his spiked, spaded tail swayed behind him. Those void-less, black orbs glanced about as his crimson brows knitted. He had tried fighting to resist to come- once thinking that his emotions were blinding him and there was no such thing as love but he was wrong. But to say he was in love so soon?
No.
He shook his head, nostrils exhaling a deep breath. Oh no- he knew that that was a lie. He had felt it that day when the two of them had met, their souls had sung the same song and there was a strage, eerie, somewhat mystical connection between both mutant and Anguni. There was no use in denying it or fabricating the denial of its existance.
His shoulders shrugged as his crimson mane whisped above the ground and hung down from his neck as he managed to give a small smile.
"Nimue?" He called out with a louder tone that he was use to, yet that reserved and a newfound calm sense lingered as his words echoed within the forest.
"Where are you?"

Fortunate would be the kindest word Nimue would ever be blessed to hear in reference to meeting her!
Yet who would have known Anguni's and Mutants could get along.
Perched up in her tree, or one which she'd begun talking to since the night prior sat the morbid looking anguni; her wings folded against her side as one pair flicked this way and that while she spoke for emphasis. During some of the more heated moments of their interesting talk she'd lashed out and sliced some of the bark off the trunk....yet this ended with appologies and some crying instances. Poor tree, it didn't deserve it; untill it decided to be a b*****d again.
"....But then I told myself; oh yes Nimue....a hat would look devilishly good on you! Is that not right Oak? Exactly!" She giggled, her vocals light like chimes as the Anguni had begun to teach herself how to talk normally...not everything had to be sung out in chorus! Would Ezriel be proud?
Speaking of him....where could he be?
"Well, it seems i've lost him. Ho-hum." Looking back and forth, she had yet to notice she'd actually been alone all of this time....here she thought he would just be perhaps wandering in circles under the tree? "I'll have to remember to slit his throat...he obviously wont have an easy time running away then!" Huffing, she flared her wings in what would have been a bit of a temper tantrum if it wasn't for a oh so familliar voice trailing on the winds of the thick forest.
Twisting her head down as a wide grin stretched under her skull mask she let herself fall back as her hooves remained hanging to the branch; her wings fluttering to make sure she didn't fall and quite possibly kill herself a second time. Luckily she'd timed it right as she was face to face with Ezriel, her face looking happy even as the blood which was all over her skull mask reversed so it was dripping onto the crow she'd stabbed with her horn to make her pretty 'hat'. Its small beady eyes open with the last look of terror he saw in his life while his wings lay limply down from gravity.
"Ezzie! Do you like my hat? I made it myself! And look; i'm talking like you too! Isn't it fantastic! I'm upset that you left me and Oak though. We debated hunting you down and killing you so you'd stay put but then he convinced me that it would be no fun at all if I then wanted to go places and you were dead."
Pouting her lip out, she watched the mutant with the utmost fascination even with the ever changing emotional rollercoaster that was Nimue's personality.
It was amazing she could even pay attention in the first place.

Even though he was still rather new to the concept of love and these feelings, Ezriel still had his moments where he was left speechless, dumbfounded and questioning why the hell he liked her. Oh yes- sometimes it was a battle within himself on the subject but somehow he always kept going back to her. He wasn't perfect, Ezriel found comfort with her no matter how psychotic and surreal the mare seemed or acted. Upon approaching he had heard her distinct tone echoing and even a shriek of some sort- hell, he didn't have a clue what had made that last noise but he was certain that Nimue was near.
Even now he was unaware, and would perhaps remain unaware, that her thought process had acutally led her to think of slitting his throat for his dissapearance and still that had yet to turn him away. Oh well- what he didn't know didn't hurt him, right?
He wandered farther and deeper into the shadows, his posture ridgid and tense as his jowls grit slightly. "Why the hell does she have to be all the way out here?" Yes- at first he was understanding and rather 'giddy' but don't let that fool you. The stallion was still conflicted, still severed to a degree between light and dark, good and bad, which led him to have his moments. Ezriel could be a b*****d, a jerk and rather blatantly rude and a bit of an antagonist and agressor but he did have a good heart and could be quite the gentlemen but that apprehension that always abided with him never could be cured. It was something that was a permenant factor that had always affected him and it never would leave but at least the stallion was good at controlling it- ... well, sometimes.
Even before he could open his maw again and call out for the mare, she appeared suddenly right in front of his face. He tensed, jowls gritting as he shivered. "Do you have to pop out of nowhere in the middle of the damn dark?"
Oh yes- the Ezriel beforehand was some love stoned fool and now with a more clear view, the male snorted.
About damn time!
He didn't realize it at first but his eyes narrowed as he noted the fresly stained crimson upon her skeletal face as his eyes eventually drifted upwards to see the the crow whose body was stiffened and eyes glazed with a permenant and last expression of horror that screamed "OH HELLZ NO" and perhaps leaving the crow hoping it was swift rather than grueling and slow. The stallions mouth gaped slightly, brows knitting as he stared.
What. The. Flip?
"Nimue," he began, low and reserved but with a kindness in his voice that held a slightly heavier tone. "That's not a damn hat- its some bird you speared with your horn." Ooooh- that maybe was a bit too harsh. Afterall, the mare was extremely unstable. Pursing his lips slightly, Ezriel exhaled deeply.
"....It's a very pretty hat."
That was good.
"And I'm glad you're talking like me- its...fantastic," he added in with a small smile or something along those lines. His crimson brows then quirked as his ears flickered.
Kill him?
He chuckled and nipped at her mane, tugging at it.
"Then Oak is a smart tree- if you kill me who would go with you to wherever the hell you want to go? I don't think you could drag me around, I'm too heavy."
Anyone else would have high tailed it out of there and ran far, far, far away from the mare but Ezriel- why he kept coming back to the mare were reasons that he had a hard time explaining other than there was something about her that he liked and those damn feelings made him feel good around her. And why did all of this have to be complicated? He didn't care. Ezriel didn't mind saying it to himself but outloud- not yet.
He wasn't ready to admit that.

"No where? But I've been here!" She grinned goofily, which looked almost like a horrific psychotic smirk thanks to her skull mask. Silly boy, if she was no where she would be like....invisible or something!
Oh but wait! Blinking her eyes stupidly, she turned her head to the left; and then the right....it WAS dark! Boy was that something. She'd never even noticed! Then again....she didn't notice much.
Dropping down from the tree and landing with a 'oof!' onto her back in a oh-so-ungraceful mannor, the mare was quickly back on her feet as she shook off the excess debris on her coat....and of course spraying crow blood all over the place. Licking her lips of the blood, her tail flicked idolly back and forth like a feline; ready to pounce at a moments notice.
"Oak is a very smart oak. He's a bit stubborn you know...." Leanding in she whispered as if trying to keep it from the tree but a meter away. "but he's a bit of an a**." She smiled, rubbing her wings along his shoulders before snapping into the next emotional phase.
"You like my hat!?"
The mare all but beamed like the sun, as if her selective hearing managed to skip past the slightly rude comment he'd initially made. Turning back to the tree, she nodded her head as if avidly listening. Whipping around fast enough to give whiplash she grinned almost manically before ushering, "Oak says you'd look good in a hat too! OH! I CAN MAKE YOU ONE TOO~!"
Twitching in excitement, her common sense told her that he'd be best to try hers on first to see if it even looked acceptable. Tossing her head from side to side she managed to twirl the bird so that its wing fell close to her mouth. Biting down on the wing she tugged and tugged untill with a few sickening cracks a rips the bird promptly split in two as it soaked the ivory mare in crimson and feathers; her mouth gaping to let the crow's maimed body fall to the ground.
Her wings dropped slightly as she watched the crow silently for a moment, before her tongue slid over her lips and chin to taste some of the sweet luke warm liquid. Yet like a twig, she snapped as her eyes began to well in tears.
"M....muh........my hat!!!" She whailed, the tears sliding down her mask creating a lighter streak while her upper wings folded to cover her eyes as she sobbed.
Given she hadn't had the hat for that long, she really liked that hat. It was black and feathery...like her wings!
"N-now...I'm not pretty!" She choked out inbetween her cries.

He found himself silently watching her as she stumbled with no grace whatsoever onto her back as an array of debris and crows blood spattered upwards and into his face. He grimmaced slightly, crimson brows furrowed as his tail swept with a slight irritation behind him. But more and more he couldn't get mad at her. Why? Hell if he knew! It was getting harder and everytime he did get made Nimue ended up crying and sobbing, choking with tears and wallowing and Ezriel absolutely HATED that. As she leapt upwards upon her hooves, he mused slightly with a nod of his head.
"He's suppose to be smart- he's the one who helps keep an eye on you when I'm not around," Ezriel added with a small grin. Even to further his acceptance of playing and simply following her lead, the stallion glanced towards the oak tree and pursed his lips slightly. "He's always been a bit of an a**- Nimue. Maybe you should teach him a lesson?"
Ezriel played along- following whatever leads or devising some way to keep her stable. Again, why was a mutant stallion spending hs time with the clinically insane and unstable individual? Well at this point that was the million dollar question which had him split in denial. Even the mere thought caused him to shake his head. Was it really those feelings? Was it pitty?
No.
It wasn't pitty.
There was a distinct part of him that could only scream'WTF WHHHHHHY!' over and over again but he never did listen to it. There was something about Nimue that he liked- between he and the mare there was a familiar similarity, a likeness, as both seemed like the outcast and eerie individuals that many overlooked or simply ignored. No- neither of them were normal and other soquili would have a good reason to run away from them or berate them. But whenever Ezriel was around her he felt good about himself and was begining not to give a damn about what others thought. Although still they met in the shadows and away from prying eyes but his confidence was growing and a resilience to what the 'norm' was somehow merging to fill in the gaps and the faults within himself. Even though Nimue was off of her rocker and out of her mind 200% of the time Ezriel just couldn't stop himself from being around her or meandering off to find her. Even though there was conflictin inside, the choice had already been long made.
At her outburst of joy, the stallion nodded.
"Its special," he managed to say at the last minute. It seemed as if the sudden suggestion of Nimue making him a hat caused him to grimmace slightly, brows perplexed and quirked as he seemed out of words to say. He didn't fear the deceased and didn't have a problem at times of vanquishing small life but- wearing a dead crow? No. Spearing a crow through the heart to wear as a hat?
Does anyone else see somethint wrong with this!
Between her excitement and estatic pleasure of perhaps the thought of making him a hat, Ezriel watched as she tugged at the feathers as the body began to slowly tear apart like a worn, ragged stuff animal whose seems were withered and fragile as he watched the poor creature be torn in half. Andorning feathers and crimsons seemed to suddenly explode as blood spattered his face and feathers fluttered to the ground. Somehow Ezriel knew that this wasn't good.
Nimue may be crazy, insane and dillusional but she was sensitive and fragile.
And just as expected her posture slumped as the hat was no more and the tears began to trail down from her eyes and her voice was choked with tears.
The mutant flicked his ears slightly, slowly stepping closer towards her as he outstretched his muzzle and brushed it against hers, nibbling at her locks of hair as the bitter taste of blood dabbled within his maw. A soft rumble rose from his chest as he nudged her.
"You're pretty even without your hat," he commented soft with a whisper. "Don't you dare even say you're not pretty- your so damn pretty even Oak is jealous."
Wait.
Oh snap.
Did he just say 'Oak'? It seemed that Nimue was getting into his head and his adaptation to her surreal reality was causing him to become confused.
But for the moment he wouldn't worry about it.
"You don't need a hat to make you pretty- you are beautiful."

Opening her eyes in a bit of a shocked suprise, Nimue's head tilted up to stare into the seemingly voidless orbs of the stallion before her....but she could see clearly the end of the line; his soul. Although she knew little about his inner conflicted warfare of light and dark; his soul radiated like a sea of diamonds. He was so gentle with her, she realized what a strain it possibly could be from someone who acted so cold; to have such a conflict inside to even be remotely well....sane to her.
His nuzzle against her cheek at first couldn't be felt but at the smallest touch of his flesh against her own peeking out from under the skull; it was euphoric. Already the mare could feel fresh tears begin their journey down her mask...yet they were not in memory of her hat....no.
They were only for Ezriel.
Such kindness, so wasted on her.
Wait.....what was this? Was Nimue actually thinking straight? She paused for a moment, there were only one set of thoughts in her mind instead of the usual jumble of mess. One trail....one general feeling welling inside her chest with each new breath of air. Her eyes seemed to glimmer with something deeper as the lightest of smiles crept onto her lips while turning her head a bit shyly away. When she spoke, her voice was uncharacteristically calm and serene while sounding like chimes.
"Ezriel....Thank you. You make me feel....amazing. I....I think i'm F-"
Wait....that sounded like something he would say....
Yet when she looked into his eyes once more; the mare paled to a deathly white (Which was hard to accomplish thanks to her pearly pelt); pupils narrowing to nearly a speck as her body quickly began to convulse in tremors. She stared right through the stallion before her, as if her world had completely vanished from view.
Blood. So much blood.
She stood, watching the body of an ebony stallion drift lifelessly in the lake below her; the crimson seeping across the surface like a plauge. She could feel the tears streaming down her face...her heart ripping in two. Nimue was....happy; but immensely pained.
Yet from atop the cliff, she could see traces of her own distorted reflection....she was beautiful...not a trace of the mare she just was....was this real?
Looking up she let out a scream; a horrible soul trembling cry at what she saw.....what made her what she was today....
That scream echoed out into the real world; away from her imagination as she backed up swiftly from Ezriel. Shaking her head as her wings thrashed in the air warding off any who venture close enough. "GET AWAY FROM ME!" She cried out in sobs, her voice straining from such a high pitch she was screaming in.
"Leave me alone, I don't wanna go again, I don't like the darkness!!!" She screamed to the apparation, only visible in her mind....Ezriel forgotten in the midsts of things.

Nimues stare seemed to pierce through the black oblivion of his eyes, into the deepest region and seemed to be the only individual who could peer down towards his soul. What she found was something the stallion never did see himself but as he looked into her eyes and simply stared through her bone mask and into those cerulean, crystalline blue orbs he felt his heart feeling as if it would burst straight from his chest. Behind that mask, behind that display of chaotic, unstable and unceasing thoughts and ideas that were sure to run rampant within the mares head, he found himself listening to a voice- a voice that was so....
Calm.
Watching as she smiled, turning away as if she was strucken by his words only caused him to bit down on his lip subconciously and smile, staring at her with mystery, curiosity and with awe. Nimue was vastly different than other mares but there was that something about her- that similiar unity and feelings that caused him to begin to kindle such a fondness for the Anguni.
His ears seemed to instantly perk upwards at those sweet, sweet words- her words. His tail swayed behind him rather nervously as he cleared his throat, opening it afterwards just slightly.
"Nimue...I..."
But he stopped.
Why?
Ezriel narrowed his eyes upon the Anguni- watching her as her pelt seemed to grow fainter with a deathly pale white complexion even moreso than before. Her eyes widened and pupils seemed to become lost as he noted her body begin to shake and tremble with the onset of tremors, much like his own that plauged his forelegs from time to time. But there he stood watching her as his crimson brows knitted as a wash of concern and uncertainty seemed to churn his emotions and knot his stomach.
That face- that facial expression; he recognized it- somehow, it felt as if he was looking into a mirror for too often he too gave a blank stare, eyes dialated and his body seemed to shake when his own inner demons began consuming him and taking control yet, still, such a concidence wasn't made just yet as the stallion remained wary and uncertain of what the mare was facing head on herself.
"Nimue?" The stallion took a step forward, searching her eyes and nickering low as his brows remained knit together with a perplexed logic. But before he could speak again, she screamed.
Ezriels body tensed, jowls gritting as he stood in his place and locked his eyes upon her. What had gotten into her? Had he done something wrong? Did he upset her? He knew very well that she was delicate and rather required a tender and cautious approach but hadn't he done a good job? And now- she wanted him to get away. His chest tightened with a contstrained breath, a cloven hoof tearing itself into the ground below as his ears fell back against his skull.
He wanted to react but something kept him calm and steady.
"Nimue! What's the hell is the matter? What did I do?" He couldn't help but yell, feeling a part of him revert into the darkness as she screamed again.
An unknown cause and those same emotions and senesations caused him to still remain in place even though he wanted to run away, run some where else away from her and to forget about all of this. But it wasn't possible and there was no way in hell he'd let himself and strangely there was a desire not to give up on her. Call him crazy, stupid or a damned fool- Ezriel didn't care and would gladly beat the a** of anyone who dared to object or try to divert him away from her. There would be hell to pay if anyone dared to repremand him.
Ezriel was a stallion- not a child and he found himself already with the decision long made concerning the mare known as Nimue.
Again his brows furrowed as no grumble, harsh words or yelling poured from his maw. He found himself slowly trailing towards her, closer as he stood nose to nose with her and pressed his weight slightly against hers as their foreheads collided and a gentleness and tendeness that was buried within him from his mother seemed to manifest itself through him and through the darkness which was his past and things which haunted him.
"Shhhhh- Nimue, Nimue...it's okay. I'd never hurt you and no one's gonna sentence you to any damn darkness while I'm around- I swear," he whispered softly, not sure exactly if it would work but something- some assurance that seemed to lead such ideas and feelings were at work. And why? Ezriel didn't know. He just did what he felt was right.
"Don't make me leave....I....want to be here with you....."
It was true. Every word he spoke was true, sincere and from his heart. But he winced slightly as his ears flicked backwards somewhat hesitant on how they would be reiceved or if they would even be heard. His muscles tensed slightly as that uncomfortable and knotted sensation within his stomach caused him to be inflicted with a slight pain from an imaginary invlalid.
For the moment he remained standing with his forehead pressed against hers, brushing his muzzle against hers and trying to reassure her or free her from whatever was ailing her.

Oh where oh where did Ezzie go!?
Her flailing had become worse, as black feathers began to drift in the air from the vigorous and erratic movements of her wings. She wanted that stallion; no....that creature to go! She'd seen him once before and knew very well what he was capable of....turning her into what she was today. She was no beauty, she was fallen from grace and there would never be any way to return her to purity. To the way life was before with her and her beloved Tris-
Hoooold up.
Immediately her thrashing ceased, while her wings slowly folded back from her face to take notice of the additional warmth and weight being added onto her chest. That familliar scent of wood and soil began to drift into her senses, calming the mare. His words gave her that reassured feeling again, that deep down she knew that everything would be alright in the end as long as she stayed by his side.
Nimue wasn't a genius; not by a long shot....but even she knew the difference between continuing to do something which felt good and to not do things which didn't feel good.
Her orbs drew to gaze into his own as he pressed his forehead against her own; luckily the mask protected her face from the spikes on the bridge of his nose whilst their horns crossed paths. It almost seemed perfect, face to face, such a warm sense of closeness washing over her...
"R-really...?"
She spoke in a shakey voice; obviously strained slightly from the screaming she'd done moments erlier. Her eyes still darted to the side every once and a while, checking to see if he was still there. Yet as he continued to speak, her eyes lit up before the biggest of smiles graced her lips.
"H-hes leavin'! By golly you chased 'im off Ezriel you tuffie you!"
Nearly jumping in joy, the mare couldn't help but press up against him; and before she knew it...she'd given him a kiss on the lips. "Silly toy...." Nimue grinned, her usual million-polar temperment returning. "I don't want you to leave me...Cuz i'm, Stuck in the middle with you...." Giggingly merrily, the mare reared back before fluttering off the ground, soaring over the stallion and landing behind him with no more than a bemused smile on her lips.
"Nimue wants to swim! Just keep swimmin', just keep swimmin'......."
Taking a large gulp of air to make her cheeks poof out, the mare used her wings to make a most frog like paddle as she scooted along with her hooves; dearly hoping he would follow.
....or she'd just have to down the sorry b*****d.

The mutant remained standing in place steadfast and rooted within place as the Angeni uni began to flail with a rough temperment as a swirl of black feathers seemed to catch the air current that her wings thrusted about and rain down like the ashes of a raging fire yet it held a sense of chaos as well as a twist of mourning. It was strange and Ezriel kept close to her- no desire to depart or to give up inhabited his thoughts or logic. He was here to say. A small rumble seemed to rise from his chest as she suddenly ceased from thrashing wildly about and seemed to be brought back into reality from whatever captivating and haunting surreal illusion brought rapture upon her soul and her mind.
His blackest of black orbs continued to gaze at her, brows knit as he kept his forehead against hers- somewhat at an angle as horns and spikes seemed to skew the perfect direction between them.
Ezriel gave a nod of his head, eyes simply drawn to her cerulean pools of clearest blue beyond the mask she wore. "Really," he replied with a simple smile and an assurity that nothing could ever divert him from being near her or chase him away.
Come hell or high waters- he would still be by her side. And though it seemed such a sudden and rash decision, or perhaps something foolish, by onlookers- Ezriel felt....so complete and whole. He didn't give a damn that she was unstable (he had been exposed to it and others who battled such a thing and hell, even he was a little bit unstable himself from time to time) but she made him smile, she made him feel as if he belonged and that he wasn't the scary, demonic and horrific creature that many judged him to be simply by his looks. By a landslide, Nimue was certainly diverse and different than many and didn't that make her even more unique and special? Yes. It was her personality, the kindness and a certain side of her that he had become fond of and had cherished and remained something that he would only tell his mother.
Somehow- he couldn't imagine his life without her. Already he had met countless mares and none of them appealed to him. Perhaps it was because Nimue was similar to him in looks and distinct compared to the rest. But whatever the hell it was he liked it and she made him smile and feel good and that's what counted...well- she did have beautiful wings and that skull mask was a little badass.
Okay.
Ezriel needed to keep his thoughs straight.
He shook his head, smiling a bit wider as he shrugged his shoulders and glanced around to see who 'he' was and yet there was no one. He wasn't quite sure of what had jostled the mares attention and sudden outburst but a small, chilling breeze managed to caress against his face as he surpressed a shiver. Ezriel wasn't sure but something seemed to give him the impression that perhaps one day he would find out but he wouldn't spend time trying to decipher the pieces of the puzzle just yet. And for the time being, he chuckled softly as she pressed up against him and.....
His ears suddenly perked straight up, eyes widening slightly as his muscles seemed to stiffen. She-she...Nimue gave him a kiss? Both crimson brows rose as he stared at her for several moments until the douse of feelings and sensations seemed to snap him from out of such a weird trance. The mutant shook his head trying to brush it off but deep down inside he kind of liked it.
As she fluttered off and behind him, the stallion turned around and was rather amused as he had no choice but to follow- curiosity leading him to see what they would do next.

So he did decide to follow her, good boy, good boy.
Trotting along her merry way, it would have definately been a sight to see the two in the rather dark and sinister neck of the woods. One crazy and downright creepy mare bouncing along like a giddy little foal whilst a few paces behind her strode Ezriel; the downright leathal fury of death looking stallion. Nimue knew better though; she sure did! Ezriel had been nothing but kind to the mare since they'd met, part of her stirred in question of why he was being so nice - it sure didn't seem like that was how the stallion usually acted; was it?
Not to mention for a brief moment....Nimue had been sane.
It was if he was slowly bringing out something she'd thought had been stolen a long time ago; was it that she'd posessed it all along? No....no. Nonononono! She was sure that it was gone....but maybe, just maybe he'd help her find it. The night was a bit chilly with the oncoming winter season brought by the northern winds; yet the mare didn't mind. She'd probably come down with hypothermia before she'd take notice that it was nippy outside. Pros and cons of feeling nothing but pain she hid from the world....who needed to be in pain anyways; no one else was doing it and she didn't want to be weird now did she?
......yeah; Nimue was worried about being weird.
Fluttering lightly once they reached a bit of a uphill climb, the mare found it much easier to just fly to the plateau rather than to walking. She had wings; the mare wasn't sure why she even had hooves at times! Landing on the cliff face; she'd found herself attracted to this place every since awaking from her slumber a few days prior...the falls but a few meters away roared softly as it fell into the lake below; rocks protruding slightly from the water's surface around the cliff side.
Staring down into the watery depths; the mare seemed to quiet and calm almost instantly....she was sure that something about this place seemed....so painfully familliar. Sighing out as her hot breath whisped uo around her face; her two sets of ebony wings curled around her frame to keep warm as she gave a shiver...
...yet something was telling her it wasn't because of the cold.

Treading behind the rather giddy and estatic mare, the leathal fury and death bringing stallion seemed to muse to himself as his void-less orbs settled upon the Angeni. Since he first met her, Ezriel wasn't quite sure of how he felt and continued to challenge his own logic pertaining to the situation. Why? Why was he drawn to her? What was it about the mentally unstable, sporatic and unpredictable mare?
He was certain it wasn't some damn fluke or trick- it seemed that already in such a short time he was exposed to all of her personalities and sometimes all at once and yet he still hung around her?
He shook his head.
Ezriel liked how she made him feel and though he couldn't exactly describe it he wanted to keep the feeling and not let it vanish.
As the bitter cold wafting within the winds from the north, the stallion tensed slightly as his long, thick locks of purest crimson seemed to wisp about all around him while the cold seemed to n** at his fetlocks and caress against his face with a strange sensational yet jowl clenching manner. In retaliation, he snorted and shook his head. Winter was damn frustrating with the cold but at least it was a time where he could blend in well with the surroundings, he thought to himself with a small grin curling ever so slightly upon his maw.
Still a little behind, Ezriel watched as Nimue landed on the cliff face and hurried with a small trot as he too slowly drew his gaze below. It was there several lengths below the waves and surge of the surf crashed against the sea stacks and erodded rocks- it was certain that once upon a time there was a sea arch that had drew the plateau a bit farther out in length but now such a possibility was nearly impossible except any winged creature could simply glide within the air towards the rather large face of the sea stack that towered from out of the ocean.
As if reminding nature and those roaming about of its power, the sea roared and howled with the light breeze and crash of the sea against the rocky below while the pungent and sharp scent of the sea stung the stallions nostrils. After staring into the watery oblivion, the stallion glanced aside towars the mare as a wreath of fog emitted from his nostrils and maw.
"You okay, Nimue?" He asked, rather low and solemn as her posture and slight hint of an expression seemed to convey that this place was...familiar to her?
He wasn't sure.
But Ezriel had no intention of trying to disrupt or tear her away from whatever it was that her eyes seemed to be searching for.

"A sad melody plays in Nimue's head....." The mare spoke softly, far off orbs gazing intently down at the water. What was it about this place that made her heart ache and pound at the same time...that nearly brought tears to her eyes? The melody was soft and slow, it echoed through her forgotten memories as if teasing and tormenting a foreboding warning to the mare. It seemed that something was wanting to become known to Nimue's conscious yet she simply was too far away to grasp at the images for the time being.
"This place means something to me....but I don't know what....and I don't like it."
Pausing with a gasp, the mare looked dumbfounded at what just came out of her mouth....it was a completely sensible, articulate and complete sentence. Was....this how things used to me? Was that old mare finally starting to seep out into her and bring control to the chaos waging in her mind and soul? Eyes wide, she glanced over to the stallion beside her; a silly grin curling into her shadowed maw.
"Ezriel....did you hear that?"
She giggled, her tail flicking as her wings curled around her frame a tad tighter. Oh, how glorious! Was this all thanks to the spiked stallion beside her? It seemed that since meeting him on that fateful eve that her life had only become to get better and better and the answers that she'd lost about herself were slowly coming back to her one by one. Some of the answers she didn't even need to know as she felt so content just being in his presence that it bothered her not, as long as she had Ezriel, Nimue felt that everything would turn out alright in the end.
He really was her angel, for without his kind and considerate light she'd be lost in the darkness of her own heart. She was a beautiful, normal soul and she had him to thank for it all.
"I will be okay now.....Nimue knows it." Smiling and leaning against his sturdy frame, she was starting to pick up on how romantic this night really was. The two of them, cuddled close atop of a hill over looking the moonlit waters below with the sounds of the falls beside them and the light from the stars and moon overhead. An odd flutter in her heart made her shift a bit uncomfortably though; unsure of what the heck that was as she found a wonderful spot to rest her cheek against on his neck.

Silence fell over him as those void-less orbs of darkness narrowed towards the mare, crimson brows knitting slightly as she spoke so softly.
There was a melody playing within her head? Glancing from her down towards the water, the stallion furrowed his brows slightly as the waves howled and crashed against the cliffside with a thunderous roar. Unable to hear what she seemed to hear Ezriel drew his attention away from the water and settled his eyes upon Nimue although it seemed that her attention seemed focused on something else yet that was something not out of the ordinary- the mares mind never stayed attentive on one simple thing for long.
It seemed that all he could do was remain in silence and stare at her, his head nodding slightly while his spiked and spaded tail swayed to the side with a questioning and rather quizzical manner. He didn't feel what the mare disliked about the cliffs but Ezriel never liked staying in some places for too long and often he became restless. And like clockwork, a cloven hoof of his found itself to paw at the ground as he glanced around and snorted.
But that seemed to change as she spoke- when Nimue spoke his head seemed to shoot upwards like a pistol and those orbs of blackest black instantly locked onto her. Ezriels jaw seemed to slack as his ears stood up attentively, and words had yet to come from his mouth.
Her voice- that...that sound! He could had sworn that his heart nearly stumbled and missed a beat as ever word had managed to fly from out of his mind and leave him dumbfounded and speechless like a star struck colt! He knew he had feelings for Nimue- oh yes, he couldn't deny it and found unable to leave her. But it seemed that she was different than the mare he first met. Although Nimue was still haphazardly out of her mind with barely any traces of sanity left it was surprising to see that there were traces of someone, someone who use to be or had existed as a whole. It felt much like finding the missing puzzle pieces to a skewed and unclear puzzle but, in a way, it was something he would never abandon.
"Yes- its was damn-tastic!" He managed to say, his chest tightening as he remembered to breathe.
For a moment his mind seemed to fall blank as emotions swept through his train of thought and left him once again stranded. As his conciousness returned, the stallion gritted his teeth and flattened his ears. He could have done better than that- at least no one else would know.
Ezriel managed to curse coarsely to himself low and shake his head but brushed it off just as she leaned against him. It seemed that changed his train of thought and current rage against himself to simply melt away.
The stallion intook a deep breath and exhaled through his nostrils- his muscles losing their tension as he managed to simply stare out towards the ocean and up towards the full moon loming within the clear skies of the night. The melody and music of the night adorned with the howls of the ocean surf, the whistling of the winds and even the serenade of crickets seemed to give rise to a more magical and soothing night. Surprisingly Ezriel was slowly begining to take notice and appriciation of such a thing.
A sudden sensation and brush against his cheek caused him to jostle slightly but as Nimue rested her cheek against his neck the stallion seemed to loosen up more and even lean into her just enough to nibble and tug at strands of her hair.
He wasn't an expert or any knowledgeable source of how to define emotions or how to react to certain touches but it seemed that for once the mutant was simply going with the flow and not questioning what felt right.
Standing there on the cliffsides, Ezriel managed to smile just a bit wider.
