I don't really care; I almost never use summons anyways. xd
The espers are more aestically pleasing, though.

I think they add a nice bit of strategy to the game, since you can't use their "super" move unless you meet certain requirements (one of them requires the character who summoned the esper to be petrified) so its funner and a bit more challenging than just summoning it and watching a short cut scene

I like that you get to fight along side with them, it's more fun than just watching...unless your trying to buy time to grab at your sandwich/snack!

I think it's a nice change from how summons used to work. Sure it was cool watching the old summons like Shiva or Bahamut do their thing then disappear (except FFX of course) but I like the way the Espers travel with you on the map.

Oh, I hate being able to still die even with summons out. Stalling is one of my biggest reasons to summon in most games, or else a last-ditch effort to wipe the enemies out when I'm about to die. It doesn't help at all in XII.

They have their uses, but if you have all of your quickenings up to level 3 and know how to use them they are a lot more effective. Though... can't remenber... is it Zalera?... Not sure, but he has instant KO, which i find useful at certain times, and generally if you don't have long range weapons and can't be bothered equiping them summoning an esper is just as effective on flying fiends.

Zalera is useful but the problem with that him using Kill is that you won't receive any EXP, LP or anything actually. Still good to use if you're overwhelmed by enemies though.

They're fun to use early on in the game. I wasn't able to beat Vossler without one, but they just because kinda useless as you level up...

i think its nice to have new kinds of summons, for the last 11 games it has been the same summons, and it seems like some are like reincarnations of the summons, like belias and ifrit, mateus and shiva
