Byakuren no Fang:

The story of Byakuren no Fang begins with the Alaskan malamute, Zero being brought from Canada to Japan. He’s given to the young boy Yoshimaru as a gift. Zero is to become a fighting dog in the area. However, Zero missed his homelands and is overjoyed to see his father one night. His father has travelled all the way from Canada to bring his son back. They joy is short because the Tosa Unryu interrupts their time together and kills Zero’s father. Afterwards, Zero and his master trains hard to become the best fighters. They are sended to a small house in the woods where the old man Furuya lives. He’s a master of training dogs and both learn a lot from him. Here they also meet the boys Taki and Rouou, plus their dogs Kobushimaru, Ranmaru and Sakenta. Zero defeats them all in training battles and feels prepared for a match with Unryu.

They enter the championship and Zero’s first opponent is Beni Gumo, whom he defeats. Then he has to face a tougher one, the half blinded tosa Dokuganryu. Zero’s pride almost costs him his life during that match, but he ends up inning after blindind the old dog completely.

Finally, there’s only one opponant left: Unryu. The battle became hard and exhausting. Zero was close to loosing, but in the moment of truth, he remembered his father and the reason why he faught. He picks up the fight even more fiercely and beats his enemy. Zero has now gotten his revenge an can continue a life in peace with his master, Yoshimaru.

honestly, i've never seen it before. it looks very interesting though... is it only made in japanese?
