Tearh was panicking, where was mommy? Her instinct was o run and hide in a bush except there was one problem, no bushes to hide in! Oh no, oh no. What to do? Tearh peered around with light blue hues, settling herself in the tall grasses around the den, maybe if she stayed still long enough, no one would see her, and she'd be able to see if mommy or daddy came home.

Yes, good plan good plan.

Onl Tear had to stifle a squeak when she saw someone coming, small, but still coming!

Maybe not..hmm.

Mkaa had scrambled away from the crowded den early that day, as the day had started off quite rowdy- which was often the way in such a large family. Going off to play was one of Mkaa's favorite options, his siblings were fun but a lot of them at once made him a bit anxious. He'd be away for a while, though, that he was sure now would be the best time to come home- sooner rather than later. He hardly expected that no one (or so few of his family) would be there when he got there.

At a distance, it looked too quiet. Almost confusingly so, so he picked up the pace. He stumbled when he got close enough to hear a squeak- someone was there? But not a lot of someones, so that wasn't too bad.

"Where is everyone?" he asked loudly, hoping to draw out anyone that was there.

Tearh crouched low and curled up in a ball trying to make less movement than she could, she didn't want the stranger to find her. What if it was a monster!? Blue eyes darted back and forth, a darker figure, almost like mommy but s much smaller...could it be-

"-MKAA!" Tearh exclaimed, rushing over to him toppling into him, clinging to his back rubbing her head on hte back of his neck.

Big brother, older nad bigger, he could keep her safe. "I don't know where mommy is..."

Though it would do him no good, Mkaa tried to duck against the oncoming "attack" from his littlest sister. He half expected an ambush of even more of his siblings, except then Tearh probably wouldn't have been so scared seeming. He was almost bowled over when she ran into him and clung.

"T-tearh?" he mumbled in response, momentarily dumbstruck, "Mommy's not here?"

He looked around. That sounded like a reason Tearh might be so worried. But then, their mother couldn't have gone too far away. Maybe she was just off with everyone else- why Tearh would have gotten left behind he didn't know, though.

"D-don't worry! I'm sure she'll be back soon," Mkaa nodded confidently.

"But neither of them are here! Mommy or Daddy Mkaa! I was all alone and..." she sniffed, rubbing her head against his back while she clung to him as if her small life depended upon it. Blue eyes opened slightly as she peered around and still no sign of either of her beloved parents.

Where ha they gone?

"You don't think any monsters came and took them do you? I saw this thing, big and black by the tree over there, under it, and I hid in hte grass after I couldn't find mom or dad and..." she continued on about the tree's monsters, though in reality it'd be a shadow, though Tearh was so concerned, always, about being alone.

Her imagination surely got the best of her.

Mkaa might not be the best when it came to a crowd, or very playful and outgoing when all of his brothers and sisters were around- but he did love his family very much, and was as good a brother as he could manage when he had to. He twisted around a bit to look at Tearh better, and put a small dark paw on her paw.

"It's ok, now we're alone together! Monsters couldn't get mom or dad, nothing could get them!" he said confidently, and nodded for emphasis, "Mommy and daddy wouldn't want you to worry this much, they'll be back and then you can tell how you were here all by yourself." Mkaa knew she didn't like being alone, but she'd managed to last until he showed up. Even if she was really clingy now, and even if she panicked while she was alone.. they didn't need to know that.

"Mkaa are you sure? Because this monster was huge and dark!" she said opening her paws wide as if to emphasize the size of what she was attempting to describe. "It was as big as the tree, and its right over there, not far from here!" she pointed, and hid behind him as if the monster would come to get her soon too. "I hope mommy and daddy are okay, should we go get help Mkaa? huh?" she asked in all seriousness, she was so shy and scared when her mother and father weren't around her.

"Mkaa how can you be so calm, the monster!" she exclaimed with bright blue eyes.

Why didn't anyone understand?

Mkaa couldn't see exactly what Tearh saw when she tried to emphasize her point about the monster, but he simply nodded when she asked if he was sure. He had an unwavering belief that his mother and father were the biggest, bestest and strongest lions anywhere- not even a huge and dark monster could get them!

The two of them, though.. they wouldn't be as impossible to get. Especially if it was still around..

"W-well-" he stammered, not sure if he should panic or not now, "We can go look for mom and dad, they'll help."

Tearh peered around, let go of her brother and crouched down and quickly scooted over to some tall grass blade clumps, and peeked out with light blue hues. "Okay, but we have to be careful Mkaa! The monster might still be around, we have to be quiet, and stick together..."

Oh why oh why handn't she just followed her mother this morning like she liked to do whenever she could?

"Come on...but shhh..."

Mkaa nodded and crouched down when Tearh did. Still unsure if he should panic or not, he decided to do his best not to panic. He had every confidence that he and his sister would find their parents, for no monster he could imagine could get them! And until they found them, he was happy to be careful enough. With a careful leap, he followed after Tearh silently.

Tearh creeped forward inch by inch, for a moment she thought the black monster was following them, but it had only been the wind rustling the blades of grass around them. Gulping, she stepped further, towards the tree, where the monster was< 'We should make sure the monster didn't get mommy or daddy first, right?" she asked in a whisper, peeking at her bother in silence.

Yes, maybe that was hte best move for now.

Though she waited, hesitated, took a deep breath, if hte monster came after them, they would have to run and hide in hte grass.

The small black cub followed close behind his sister, more than happy to stick by her side- though he might not have been so eager if everyone was trying to do it. Mkaa also decided it wouldn't be too horrible to humor her as she decided to try to find out if the monster had gotten their parents, though in his mind such a possibility didn't exist in the slightest.

"Ok," he agreed quietly, sticking to her side.

Tearh weaved herself through the grass, nearing the tree, but stopping at the edged of where the tall grass faded into shorter tamer grass. "M-maybe we should just go back and wait Mkaa...I don't want the monster to find us.." Maybe Mkaa was right that there would be there, "Maybe they are already back home..." Tearh was nervous, ducking down so that her belly was touching the ground.

She took a step back, and turned around to peer at Mkaa with her light blue hues, as if asking silently that they should run back now, that mom and dad would be home.

What should they do?
PostPosted: Sat Dec 29, 2007 7:42 pm

When Tearh stopped, Mkaa stopped. He didn't look out from the grass, but instead to the silver cub at his side. It was clear that she was nervous, but she kept changing her mind and while Mkaa was not a very brave cub.. he didn't want to just give up like this. Looking anxiously from Tearh to the edge of the grass and back again, he shook his head.

"We were just there," he murmured, "We have to make sure they aren't here."

That was why they came this close to the monster, after all! They were making sure that it didn't get their parents, and they would do at least that before running away. So hesitantly, Mkaa took a couple steps farther and poked his nose out to take a look. He tried hard not to be too obvious, but as a cub he wasn't too well practiced at that.

"Look, can you see it?" Tearh said in a rasped whisper pointing towards the big black thing, the monster under the tree. It coated the earth in shadow darkness of its evilness, and made everything dark within its grasp. It was such a horrid monster even making the grass and flowers lose their color and brightness! The horror! Tearh crouched even lower, almost curling up on the ground beneath her, and stared at it in question, it was a strange monster indeed.

"See, mom and dad...they aren't there, we should go back, before it sees us..." as Tearh stated it the branches rustled the shadow moved and she squeaked, and turned tail starting to run back towards the den, but she stumbled, and fell over.

Did Mkaa get away?!
