Evil isn't a term you want to go throwing around in here as just about everyone will point out that it is subjective.
Have I ever known people to do unkind things with their abilities? Yes.

I never did use it for "evil" as I Can't go against the rules of the System.. But I'm sure a lot of people did use it for evil...

I can't recall a time I used my "powers" for "evil". That being said, I'm sure there have been consequences of my actions that turned out to be for the ill of others rather than the good. If so, it wasn't my intent, however.

It's very hard to find someone who goes about comitting "Evil" acts, if only because, as Obscurus said, it's a subjective concept. And of course there's a difference between "Mean" and "Evil"; if I used my super mage powers of death to place a bananna peel under someone's foot for a laugh, as long as they didn't really hurt themselves, it couldn't really be considered "Evil", neh?
Now if you wanted stories of screw-ups that ended up hurting people, I'm sure you'd get enough to float the titanic.

"Evil" depends on the moral coding being used.
For a Christian, using magic at all is evil. For a Wiccan, harming anyone in your magic is evil. For a sociopath, who lacks a psychological conscience entirely, there is no "evil".
People can look at one another and say that something's evil, but the person may not hold to the same standards. We could say that someone killing someone else is evil (and truly, almost everyone holds to that idea), but given context, such as getting revenge on the murderer of your family, things take on shades of grey.
It's not a matter of if it is evil but how evil it is deemed to be. Many people would consider cursing someone evil, but if that person is destroying the lives of others, it suddenly doesn't seem so evil at all.
The best definition of "evil" I can find is something harmful that goes against one's moral structure (there are some non-harmful things I can think of that I do not approve of but I do not consider "evil").
Under that definition, I cannot currently think of an evil act that someone has performed with magic or psionics.

Well I'm going to take a guess and say that 99% of all people on this planet have used some degree of power for some kind of "evil" act at least once in their lives.
The 1% who haven't are the babies incapable of evil and those bold few who have led righteous lives to the full. And they ain't many.

I was under the impression that psychopaths/sociopaths don't necessarily lack a conscience, but rather they rationalise their often murderous actions rather than come to terms with it on an emotional level? I don't know, I guess I'm trying to make the point that maybe these people do have a concept of evil, but do not understand the meanings of what is right and wrong when it comes to interaction on a human level. But still. That's getting off topic.

Um....all I can say is...Sorry Nancy Grace XD....even if it WAS a coincidence... Yes, I have used my ability for what I would personally consider "wrong" or "evil" simply in the sense that I tend to take things way too far sometimes. Blind Guardian the 2nd I was under the impression that psychopaths/sociopaths don't necessarily lack a conscience, but rather they rationalize their often murderous actions rather than come to terms with it on an emotional level? Blind Guardian the 2nd The 1% who haven't are the babies incapable of evil and those bold few who have led righteous lives to the full. And they ain't many. I disagree...babies are PURE evil...evil incarnate....evil concentrate...I hate children, can you tell?

Unless you're actually killing people, I wouldn't call you a sociopath/psychopath.

Blind Guardian the 2nd Unless you're actually killing people, I wouldn't call you a sociopath/psychopath. Sociopaths don't always turn into murderers. Some prefer to manipulate and ruin lives instead. (Forgive me for hijacking this conversation.) I've been reading up about them in a book called "The Sociopath Next Door". It's a basic guide to what a sociopath is and how they work.

I DEFINITELY do that...but sometimes I manipulate people's lives for the better o.0...I'm a psychologist and a philosopher, I LOVE how the human mind works, I LOVE twisting it, and I LOVE having people's lives in my hands. =D
