The day spoke of rain, though he didn't hate the rain, the rains meant that his job was easier, less beasts starved in the rainey season, food was readily available, but until it turned the grasses from beige and tan to green he still had a long way to travel.

The skelington like beast that rose from a laying possition in the grass looked little like it was acctually alive, yet it moved, tight deathly looking skin covered the bones which creaked audibly as he rose to his forepaws, a single breath escaped his body as at last the shakey bone thin figure stood. The question of if this creature would stay in a vertical possition was debatable and it wasn't until the first slow, deliberate step that it was obvious that no, it would not fall.

A pair of wings stredded, seemingly useless spread out from the body, perhaps once upon a time these wings had membraines now though they were merely stems and shreds. This beast though decrepit was clearly a god, a god whom did not take to the sky but delibaretely took each step, each slow, seemingly painful step to his next destination.

Sun-kissed orbs stared dejectedly up at the darkened sky, causing the young cheetah to ponder vaguely at how the rain clouds had managed to sneak up on her. It wasn’t as though she particularly disliked the rain, but the lack of shelter she had was more than a little disheartening. Life as a vagabond was not one she took by choice, but she would rather continue life as it was than rely on others for her survival. She was doing just fine on her own, thanks. A small sigh escaped through her teeth, forcing herself to focus back on her previous task – dinner.

Claws flexed absently, digging in the already damp ground as she lowered her gaze back on the unknowing field mouse, watching it carefully as it cleaned its whiskers. It wasn’t much, but most of the other creatures had already left to seek shelter from the coming shower, and she did not really have a preference for what she had for food, just as long as she had something. Haunches tensed for a long moment, before pouncing, capturing the tiny creature under her paws.

And then she saw it.

A huge creature was moving slowly, silently - save for the sickening creaking that sent shivers down her spine - no more than a few meters away from her. The breath caught in the back of her throat, dark fur quickly rising on end as she stared, frozen with fear, at the unearthly sight before her. She couldn’t move… she couldn’t run… She had never experienced such terror before.

A cheetah? The head did not lift to look at the slender beast which stalked such meagre prey. She was not his job today, though the pangs of hungerwhich she felt certainly turned his ragged head his stone like eyes looked through her to a world beyond her being. "Do not be afraid." The mouth of the creature did not move and from this distance it could be seen that his lips were sown shut, there was no way for him to truely speak yet a voice echoed in to her ears, a voice which whispered of things unknown.

The bone thin beast took in a breath then, the chest expanded in a deathly rattle, the air seemingly reverbriating off of his ribs. The breath did not proceed to come back out again though, he simply took another step towards the little cheetah femme, each painful looking step looking like it must tear the sallow skin and fur from the bones.

"You have nothing to fear from me cheetah, you are not of my rhealm." That voice again, a rough strange whisper which spoke in to her ears, straight in to her mind almost. Being the only other thing there, clearly the voice came from the strange god but the body did not react to the words, the lips did not move, though finally the breath rolled back over those sown lips in a slow wheezing manner.

What was it…? She had never seen anything like the creature before… It looked like a lion… but what were coming from its back…? And why did it look so… frail…? Dozens of questions flashed through the young female’s head, her eyes wide as she stared, feeling the fur along her neck and back raise up even more as it moved towards her. What was it??

A surprised yelp escaped from the cheetah at the sound of the voice, causing her to rear back and topple onto the ground behind her. Not be afraid?? How the heck as she not supposed to be afraid? Had the creature seen itself before?? – Probably not if it was expecting a tiny animal like her to just… not be afraid… Tan colored paws pushed against the damp soil, bringing her back up to a sitting position, her tail curled up tightly against her side. Now would really be a good time to just… run for it… But her fear and curiosities kept her frozen to the ground. What could it possibly be…?

Well, she had some theories…

Perhaps it was just a lion that lost its way – she was guessing it was a lion just because of the size… But that didn’t explain the things that looked like… wings…? Then maybe it was a bird that had fallen from the sky… That had come from far, far away… Like from where the sparkly lights were! Maybe it had come down from the sparkly lights from the highest place on the savannah to come and take a nice walk to try and collect its thoughts… Well, at least she liked to take long walks to collect her thoughts… Actually, she walked a lot even if she didn’t have anything to think about… That’s what happened when one was a wanderer… Or! Maybe it was a whole new species! And she was the first to ever see something like this! It was definitely different than what she’d ever seen before – not that she’d seen much in her short life… but it was a thought…

She tilted her head, intrigued by her own speculation, regardless on whether it was complete nonsense or not. Bright yellow eyes traced over the frail body of the creature standing before her, wincing at the pained sound of its breathing; watching as the creature’s ribs, flesh taunt against them, shook with each breath. “Are you okay…?” she breathed, barely audible against the cooled air, completely unaware that her concern was overtaking the instinct to run. Well… it didn’t seem dangerous… it wasn’t trying to attack her, at least…

The sickly looking lion slowly took another one of those death rattle breaths, surely this breath would be the end of the strange walking corpse, instead though it simply sat. Every bone creaked with this movement, the cartlage between the bones long worn away from movement, every inch that he shifted created a creaking, scraping sound, and then he was seated. Inthis possition the bones seemed all the more fisable, the skin tight against the sharp bones, his theighs extremely visable beneath the thin furred skin.

Her question of concern got little reaction from the body before her but the voice echoed loud in her ears. The voice laughed. It was a strange laugh though, a mixture between silent agony, the cries of those whom suffered from deep painful hunger and an almost pleased chuckle. It was a strange, haunting noise. "Do you not know what you see before you child?" The body did not move with the voice, and perhaps if it had it would fall apart, certainly the rautious chuckle would have shaken the frail frame to peices. Wouldn't it?

"My name is Jaddis, Chieng, I am what you see before you, hunger, starvation, the ravanous being which tuggs at the stomach and whithers the frame." It had been a long time since the dilapidated body had done anything and now it released the breath, slow and agonising as the first, the release of air over the tightly sown lips caused the bone thin frame to shudder uncontrolably. "I am not a mortal child, I do not suffer, you can save your concern for yourself, you walk on the edge of my rhealm often." The voice silenced again then, stoney eyes looking upon the little cheetah femme, those eyes, no light shimmered behind them, dull and lifeless and lost, "do not fall in to my rhealm Chieng, it is not for you."
