Stretching her forelimbs golden eyes peered around and her brows quirked in question. Where had he gone this time?! "Daddddyyy!" Urdnuru called, her white and gold form skittering around in an almost frantic motion to see if she could spot him from behind a bush, atop a stone, or from under a tree.
He was so tricky!
"Daddy are we playing a game?" she called out, ears swiveling in every direction. "Come on daddy I can't play if I don't know what game we are playing, please daddy?" Flicking her tail in slight annoyance Urd pouted and peered around.
His tail would be in for it when she found him.

Its not that he disliked his cubs, or Freya. Its just.. see, Makani didn't like playing cub-games. They were terribly silly, and pointless. He detested them. He much rather teachthe kids how to get the opposite sex's attention, or tell them some very exaggerated stories from his 'super special awesome' adventures. He was partially glad he didn't even live with them, though it was promised he would visit often-ish.
And he didn't go back on this type of promise.
Much to his dismay, he'd learned one of his cubs was rather.. er, obsessed, with his tail. And it was exactly this cub looking for him now. Fortunately for Makani, he was much, much larger than the little creature, and could easly keep his tail out of reach. And so he did raise his tail as soon as he heard the cubs squeaky voice, ears folding back in a moments annoyance, before he forced himself to act like he was in a good mood, when he wasn't really.
See, Loki, the red boy, oldest of the litter, had just gotten outsmarted by a bird, and was now flopped pathetically at his feet. He did recall being rather.. lame when he was a cub, so he couldn't quite blame Loki, but he couldn't help feeling slightly annoyed. The boy needed a backbone! Tell that bird, that no, he would not give it back-- whatever it had been he'd stolen from it, and be able to maintain that dare. But noo!
Well, back to the daughter. "Hello. " He said, turning his head to glance in the direction he'd heard his daughter, keeping in mind that he had to keep his tail away from her annoying little attacks on it. He didn't like messing up his fur! It wasn't that he didn't like Urdnuru, he liked her and her siblings about the same, like a father should. Its just damn, he wasn't the guy that liked it when his tail kept getting bit, captured, attacked..!
The cub groaned at his fathers feet, whining piteously and rubbing his forehead. "But daad! That bird was mean and it was tough and it was almost as big as I am! " He complained, paws at his chest and peering up at his father. the last one was a lie; the bird had been pretty small.
At first, he didn't even noticed his sibling, but blinked, tilted his head, then smiled when he did. "Hi Urd! " He said, waving from his upside-down position.

A voice caught Urd's attention, and her ears swiveled into the direction and she shot off towards it. Spying her father and her brother at his feet a wide grin spread across her face, and her daddy's tail...she would get it this time. "HI!" she said loudly, approaching them as fast as her legs could carry her.
Getting close by the second she had her golden hues settled on her father' tail, jumping into the air with a battle cry adn her paws outstretched she tried to catch the tail...but missed.
"Ooomph!" hitting the ground she rolled over, and glared at the tail.
Stupid thing.

How had he known this was gonna happen? "Urdnuru, I already told you I don't want you attacking my tail, " he snorted, turning to face her and allowing his tail to relax. Should she move its way, he'd merely lift it again, after all, his tail was faster than the cub, especially if she had to go around him to get to it. "What can I do you for, today? " Now he smiled, after that stern face he'd made for her attempt at his tail. That was the issue he had with his daughter, and the only one.
"I was just.. trying to teach your brother here to have some backbone. "
"I told you, " Loki retorted, imitating the voice his father had just used on Urdnuru, only much squeakier. "It was big and strong! " He huffed, rolling onto his feet and rubbing a paw along his mane. Damn bird.
"Hi Urd! " He chirped, repeating the exact same thing. He liked saying hi.

"But daddy, I don't attack it! Wrestle, there's a difference," she said narrowing her eyes, pouting curling her own tail around herself while she slumped forward with her shoulders. Backbone? Urdnuru peered over at her brother and stuck out her tongue," What was it this time hmm?" she said with a giggle, pouncing forward nto the ground, still eyeing her father's tail.
When he least expected it.
That would be the time.

"Either way, I don't like it. " He snorted. "Its impolite, messes up my fur and it can hurt. So stop. " He frowned, sitting down and curling his tail around his back paws, keeping it safely protected behind the front ones.
"Oh, you're brother was just attacked by a-- "
"A HUGE evil bird! " He couldn't let his dad say 'a bird', could he? He'd sound dumb!

Urdnuru frowned at her daddy and huffed at him, padding over to him and nudging her body against his shoulder with force, though her father probably wouldn't be bothered by it, she was small afterall. Huffing and sitting down a little bit from her father, as if to have a staring contest she watched him, then looked at her brother in disbelief.
A bird?
He got beat up by a bird?
"You've got to be kidding," she said with a giggle.
Her brother was so strange.

Makani quirked a brow as she attempted to shove at his shoulder, though the cub wasn' tevent tall enough to reach that now. She and her siblings were about as tall as the 'glove' marks on his hind legs. "Stop being so violent. " He rolled his eyes, and lifted a paw to gently push her away from him. "I'm a peace guy, so acting like that won't get you no where. " He stuck his tongue out playfully, then rolled his eyes.
"Nope, by a bird! "
"But it was big! " Loki whined, slumping pathetically onto his belly and covering his eyes with his paws. "And it was flapping around and pecky and stuff! You couldn't do better! " He complained, flicking his tail.
"Uh, I could have stepped on it! " Makani piped up, in mock joy.

Urdnuru looked at her father with eyes that were shining at him in gold, shining because she wanted to cry but wouldn't. She wouldn't let herself do it, she didn't want to let her dad see weakness in her. Why did he hate her so much, what could she do to make him love her more? Turning away from him she refused to look at him now, when she got older, she'd show him, she'd tackle him and bite him or something.
Daddy was being dumb.
"Well...did you try to fight back?" she refused to talk to her dad now.

Ooh, she was giving him the silence treatment! how interesting. Loki would never do that, he knew the cub rather hero worshiped him. It was kind of fun.
"Course I did! " He frowned, looking up at his father, then boincing up on his hind paws, throwing his front ones as high on he grown cheetah as he could. "Right? It was just stronger! " Yees, of course! Just look mean, and surely dad would listen, right?!
".. Fine. " He gave a small smile to his son, with the sort of look that said 'I'll just say this for your satisfaction, but no, I don't mean it. '
Well, that kind-of worked.

Urdnuru glared at her father from the corner of her eyes. She loved him so, but he seemed to hate her, did she have to lose a fight to a stupid bird to get his attention? What did she have to do!? Urd still refused to look directly at her father, and she lay her head on her paws and just stared at her brother in disbelief.
Lost a fight to a bird, pathetic.
She still loved Loki though, so much so.

His poor overreacting cub, hah. Urd would get in a lot of trouble, the pouty little thing. However, she was his daughter, so he did like her. She was just spoiled. Yes. Thats what she was. What did Freya do to these girls?
"Itsnotmyfaultthebirdwasbig. " Loki huffed, staring back at his sister and folding his ears back. Being supposedly the largest of the litter, he didn't like feeling like he was being a let down. But no worries-- he'd grow up, and be as neat as daddy!
"Now, " Makani said loudly, stepping over the two cubs and flicking their ears with his tail-- though quickly pulling it away just in case, he moved to crouch a few metres off, and looked back at the duo. "Who wants to race? " He grinned meekly, but for now kept his tail safely wrapped aroud his leg. No tail for Urd today, ooh no.
"Race? " Loki perked up, bouncing to his paws quickly. Being a cheetah, any chance to run as fast as one could was.. pretty neat. Especially when he got to race daddy-- Makani wasn't the type that'd let his cubs win on purpose, and would likely run as fast as he could, if only to show off, but Loki was determined to beat him someday. With an excited bounce, the cub tumbled to crouch beside his father, and looked back at Urd. "You coming? "

Why did daddy look at her like that? Frowning she watched as her father stepped over her, golden hues watching his tail after it had hit her ears and she turned her eyes form him. He was teasing her and that wasn't nice or fair. Why did she like Loki better then her, was it because he was a boy and she was a girl? Hmm.
Pawing at the ground her eyes rose again when her daddy said something about a race, and Loki seemed excited.
Should she even try?
Standing up and walking over to them, slightly dragging her paws she kept her eyes on the ground. She'd race, least she'd try, but she wouldn't look at daddy, oh no.

"Okay then. " Makani purred in amusement, then looked ahead. "Its till that tree. Whichever of you reaches it first wins. I don't count because.. " He paused, looking down at Loki. "Its a little obvious I'll be first. " He stuck his tongue out to taunt his son, then crouched, flexing his shoulders slightly and preparing to shoot off. "As for prizes.. well, I have no idea. I'll just find the winner something neat, I guess. " He shrugged. He did find an awful lot of trinkets.
"So, who wants to give the-- "
"Me! " Loki exclaimed at once, nearly bouncing. Giving the go! He wanted to give the go. He really really did.
"Ookay then. " Well, that was one bouncy boy. "Whenever you want. "
Loki smiled meekly, folding his ears against his skull and collecting his limbs together, keeping close to the floor, almost imitating dad. "Ready... Seeet.. " He paused an annoyingly long pause here, if only because he knew--or thought, it might throw the other two off, then finally..
"Go! " He shot off perhaps as soon as he started to word out the 'g', so for a moment he found himself ahead, but soon quickly passed by his ftaher, who slowed down a bit beside him.
"Sorry to do this to you.. " Makani said, looking down at his son for a moment, keeping up with him by merely trotting quickly at his side. Poor slow little cubs!
"But eat my dust. " He purred, then shot off, his trot turning into the fast sprint of a cheetah, even though he didn't seem to be going as fast as he could go. This provoked an outburt from Loki, who, determined, sped up.

Urdnuru didn't say a word, just kept quiet, Loki always go to say go! Annoyed and irked, Urd was tempted to chase after her brother, tackle hi to the ground and latch to his tail. Yes, gnaw on daddy's favorite, that'd show em both! Urd knew if she ran, her dad would beat them both, and Loki was bigger then her, hmm, not good.
She'd just try.
And if Loki gloated, she'd bite his tail, which hte thought brought a smile to her face.
Chasing after them both, she wondered what would be better, winning or losing.
