"This...."

A single word escaped Sionce's lips as he stared at the letter that rested between shaking fingers, his eyes quivering so badly inside his skull that he felt his vision slowly begin to blur in and out.

Slowly he moved his body until he felt his back come into heavy contact with the wall that was behind him, and once all of his weight had been placed he slowly slid himself down so he had his arms resting between his splayed knees.

"No...this..."

< What's wrong Sionce? >

A familiar ping from the moniter to the left of leg pulled Sionce's attetion off the paper in his hands, and his gaze slowly strode towards the Elder hacker that rocked back in forth with concern.

< Did something happen? >

In response, a letter was held up to be shown to the creature on the screen, and almost without hesitation Trisste took in a deep breath as he read the words -

"Little brother, I am coming. - Emile"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:08 pm

Sighing as he finished writing the latest entry in his hidden computer journal, Fiach rubbed his slightly bloodshot eyes and wondered why he was even writing them. It wasn't as if they did him any good, just made him relive things he'd wished he could forget. But write them he did, almost every day. At times he wondered if he secretly hoped that someone might stumble upon them and heed his silent cry for help. He couldn't bring himself to say anything, just wished someone would confront him before he took another dive.

Deciding he was done for the day, he stood up and stretched. His back popped as he bent backwards, a sign that he'd been sitting with his back arched for far too long. Yawning, he searched through his dresser for a clean shirt and pants. Once done getting dressed in black cargo jeans and a black, long sleeved screen tee with a faded silver skull and crossbones on it, he ambled towards the kitchen. A slow shuffle, a fading sign of the depression he'd felt at the start of the day.

He aimlessly pushed things around on the shelves of the fridge, not really sure what he wanted to eat - just knowing he felt hungry. Brushing the hair out of his eyes, he mentally noted to be sure to put it back up in its ponytail and shave before he even thought about leaving the house.

A smile touched his face as he finally found some left overs that looked delicious - some blueberry muffins. Plopping onto the kitchen counter, he munched on his mid-morning snack, wondering what he would do on his day off.

< What are you going to do? If...if you don't go and pick her up, what will happen to you? >

Trisste floated from moniter to moniter in his own form of pacing, his actions clearly showing how distressed he was at Sionce's current state. How coild only five words devistate a person in such a manner?

< Sionce? >

"I...Elder sister Emile is coming, I have to go and get her. I have to do as she says, I have to make sure her stay here is for as long as she wants and she is completely content the whole time."

Sionce slowly rose to his feet and pulled the rabbit mask off his face, dropping it down by his side before he turned and looked at the moniters. Trisste took an inward gasp as he noticed the tears that were silently streaming down Sionce's otherwise calm face, and the hacker quickly tried to fathom what he could do.

< Sionce! I'm going to get Faich, you stay here! It'll....stay here! >

His thoughts weren't completed as he made the jump from moniter to web system and back to a moniter, one on which he rleased a loud enough ping that it echoed about in the halls.

< Fiach! PING. Fiach!! PING >
PostPosted: Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:31 pm

Nearly choking on the muffin he had been happily shoving into his mouth at the exact moment the frantic, "Fiach! PING! Fiach! PING!" came blaring from a computer, Fiach half hopped, half fell off the counter. Lurching out into the main store area, still trying to get down the muffin piece that had caught in his throat, he managed a strangled, "Y...es?" Coughing several times as he finally succeeding in getting the muffin down, he cleared his throat before correcting himself.

"Yes, Trisste?" Tilting his head he wondered at the hacker's obvious alarm and panic - it wasn't often the calm Trisste would freak out like this. Comprehension entered his eyes as he stood with his arms crossed, awaiting the hacker's response.

< Sionce needs you - now. The sooner you can get to him the better. >

Trisste stopped his massive pings after Fiach had appeared in his line of sight, and his text flew through his chat box as he rapidly 'spoke' of what he required.

< Something's wrong with him - or someone that is. His sister is coming into town and I...would...well. Don't let him go get her alone, please. I beg of you. >

Trisste's words ended as he looked up at Fiach with pleading eyes, or at least eyes that on something made of data LOOKED like they were pleading.

< Please. >
PostPosted: Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:50 pm

Scratching at his stubble as he listened to Trisste's plea, Fiach ran a hand through his slightly unkempt hair. His other hand held a half-eaten blueberry muffin, which he looked down at regretfully, at the look on Trisste's face. It was hard to say no to someone who looked at you like that, data or not, Fiach knew that somehow, Trisste felt. And that Trisste would likely lose it if anything were to happen to his Sionce.

Momentarily considering asking Trisste to tell his friend to wait until he was ready, before leaving, he remembered when Sionce had stopped him from suicide. Rubbing at what was left of the bruises, he sighed and knew he could not abandon his friend. Not when his friend had done nothing but give for him.

Glancing back up at the screen, Fiach looked into the hacker's eyes and muttered, "Is he at his place, Trisste?"

Setting the partial muffin down, he sighed before casting his eyes around for his shoes. Knowing he would be able to glance up from anywhere in the shop and find a monitor there, he headed towards where he'd spotted his shoes. Slipping them on before taking another peek at a monitor, hoping Trisste had followed him and would give him further instructions, frowning the while.

< Yes...he should be still at his home, the letter had a plane ticket stub attached for a time later this evening. >

Trisste popped on the moniter closest to the door so he could view Fiach's movements, and as he watched the man get his shoes on he opened his chat box to speak one more time.

< I don't know what he'll say to you, or ask you to do...but please. Protect him from Emile. >

And with that, Trisste was gone.

Sighing as he nodded the affirmative at the recently vacated monitor, Fiach snatched his coat and a hat before turning off the lights to the shop. Taping up his "Be back later" sign on the front door, he locked up and strode towards Sionce's house. As he walked, he got to thinking about Trisste's last words, to protect Sionce from Emile. A frown creased his face, as he picked his pace up to a jog.

Trisste had sounded desperate - and the hacker was almost never desperate. It made Fiach worry when a normally calm piece of data felt desperation for the sake of someone. The near pleading tone only gave speed to Fiach's feet, and he ended up in a sprint as he came to the pathway that lead to Sionce's door.

Taking a moment to catch his breath before knocking gently, trying not to rap too hard, for fear of startling his friend, Fiach waited patiently on the door step. Or, as patiently as one can when concern starts to turn to fear and worry. His attempt at patience didn't last long as he started to knock again.

After the second set of knocks hit his door Sionce made his way over, opening it without much hesitation. When he saw the person in front of him to be Fiach, a small look of relief crossed his clearly visable features.

"Fiach? Did Trisste go and get you for something?"

Sionce wasn't dress in his normal attire, with his hair being neatly combed down and straightened and his mask no where in sight. He had on a white button up shirt and tie and some khakis that looked like they'd never been worn a day in their lives, but the shockers was that on his face...he had faint amounts of make-up.

It was only enough make-up to give his pale skin some color and hide his dark circles, so to someone who didn't know him they wouldn't have seen the difference, but to Fiach Sionce was pretty sure it was noticeable.

"I'm sorry I can't invite you in, but I'm actually on the way to the airport to pick up my eldest sister. She's coming into town."

Surprise and shock at Sionce's appearance registered on Fiach's face. He removed his hat and ran a hand through his un-tied hair, and felt oddly undressed next to his overly dressed up friend. Suddenly unsure just what he was supposed to be doing, recalling Trisste's request of helping and saving, Fiach scratched his chin as he pondered.

Frowning as he gazed on his friend's made up face, he nodded. "Trisste did come get me, asked me to help you out..." Looking up and down his friend's attire, he gave a small laugh, "Though it looks almost as if I'm the one who needs help, now that I'm standing next to you." He ruefully rubbed a hand through his hair again, a nasty, nervous habit he had been acquiring lately.

Without stepping to the side, he shrugged at Sionce's mention of being unable to invite him in. "That's fine...I'll...come with you. I think"

He seemed slightly surprised at having offered to go with his friend, himself, and hoped it didn't show too much on his face. Since when do I volunteer to meet people I don't know? Shrugging a bit, he smiled, trying to make himself seem more sure of his suggestion.

"Dressed up? No...you're fine. She won't care about you so you shouldn't worry, okay?"

A thin smile, one full of sadness that was clearly apperant, crossed Sionce's lips as he moved out of his doorframe and into the open. He closed the door behind him without any further hesitation and locked it quickly, tossing the key above his head and into the sagging gutter the resided there.

"If...you're going...wait, never mind. Just...thank you."

Sionce felt very awkward without his mask, almost like he was purely naked, and he frowned a bit and he tugged at the tie that strangled around his neck. He had no plam pilot on him, nothing technical. Emile hated all that, and the last thing he wanted to do now was make her angrier towards him than she already always was.

"Let's...go now. We'll have to take a taxi, I guess....so..."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 18, 2007 9:51 pm

At the smile full of sadness, Fiach almost asked what was wrong. But didn't. He was afraid to ask too many questions, unsure of what was really going on, and he was afraid that Sionce would expect him to open up, if Sionce opened up to him. Looking into Sionce's face, Fiach couldn't help but wonder just how much he really knew about his friend.

Watching the key as it went up into the gutter, he raised an eyebrow in silent question. Not many people threw their keys into gutters when they left the house. Most people left it under a potted plant or welcome mat, if they left it at all.

At the mention of taking a taxi, Fiach paled and blanched. He didn't like being in a car where someone else was driving, preferring to walk, ride his bike, or on the rare occasion - drive himself around. He hesitated and took a deep breath before nodding. "...Okay...did you...call one already...?"

Stepping aside so his friend could come out further from the door, he frowned before asking, "So...who is Emile?"

Sionce nodded in regards to the taxi comment and pointed his finger down the lane, where one was resting parked against the curb. A man was leaning on the driver's door, a cigarette idly hanging from his mouth as he glared at people who passed him by. His glares did the intended effect (coming from a rather well built black man in such a small, mostly white neighborhood), and he let out an annoyed grunt that was loud enough to echo down to where Sionce stood.

"That's Art. He's been my friend since I first moved from France to here, about four years ago. He usually drives me when I need to go places, so if you're worried...you can trust him."

With that Sionce took a few steps forward, his gait unsually stiff as he picked up the pace after leaving the porch and stepping onto the walkway. Whether or not Fiach kept up was of no importance to him at the moment, he had to be there on time no matter what. But..he couldn't think of going alone, so he almsot started to slow down when he heard Fiach ask another question.

"Emile...is my eldest sister. She is older than me by five years, a serious French woman with an iron fist and a smoker's cough. She sent a note today telling me she wanted to visist. I do think...I do pray...that she only wants it to be for today."

He turned at that last line and smiled at Fiach, his eyes cast on the cement.

"If she wants it to be any longer, I can expect you to find me dead by tomorrow morning."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:16 pm

Being told to trust a man he'd never met was not something Fiach was normally willing to do. Stunned for a moment, he stood staring at Sionce's back before remembering he was supposed to be following. Jogging a little to catch up, he easily kept pace with the shorter man. His face was still tense at the thought of being in the car with the stranger driving, but he was determined to keep his word.

Faltering slightly as Sionce began to talk again, he tilted his head. He wanted to ask why Sionce prayed it was only for a day, but chose not to as Sionce continued and said that Fiach could expect to find his friend dead if she didn't leave after one day.

Unable to contain his curiosity at who this Emile was that instilled such fear into his friend, Fiach couldn't help but ask, "I...why would I find you dead by morning if she stays longer than one day?"

"I'll have killed myself, of course."

A sinister smile, one mixed with complete desperation and sorrow yet truth, flicked across his lips as he let out a soft bitter chuckle.

"Now come on, let's go. She'll be here in twenty minutes and it's a ten minute ride."
