Round and round it goes! Where it stops, nobody knows! And it lands ooonnnnnn.......
The WATER FIELD!
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.

Battle.... START!
The official for the matched stepped up the plate, his blue-black uniform visible under the brilliant florescent lights of the stadium. Clutching a flag in each hand, the young man glanced left and right before making the announcement to start. The deep voice echoed through the headset microphone and rang out from the stadium speakers.
"This is an official stadium match! Each trainer may use only one pokemon each! There is no time limit! Are both trainers ready?"
At the confirming nods from both pokemon and trainer, he flicked both flags into the air; once both flags moved south, the battle could officially begin.

Kazuki stepped onto the west end of the field, more confident now than he had been at his first battle. He still didn't enjoy the concept of having to battle in front of so many other people, so many, many...many other people, but at least the dark-type by his side supplied him with a small boost of confidence. The short trainer looked down at the pokemon by his side, leaning down to scratch him behind the ears. "Same thing as our last battle with Luna, Ryou. If we win three against her, Manami gets one of those plushies she seems to be so obsessed with, and you get lots of treats whether you win or not. Ready?"
"Bree," the Umbreon said with a nod, flicking his tail. His eyes glowed bright blue as he used Kazuki's eyes to study the field for several moments. He quickly dropped the blue-tinted vision and leapt from the west end, landing square in the middle of one of the floating platforms. Assuming a battle-stance, the dark-type flicked his ears forward as his tail twitched with anticipation. "Breon!"

"Hey Kazu-kun~" Luna said as she took her place on a platform. Oh yes, she definately loved to give people nicknames. "This time you'll be against Albireo. And he's a bit more experienced, so watch out!"
Albireo suddenly burst his head out of the water. "BOO!" He shouted at the Umbreon in a cheerful bark, his tongue and mouth hanging happily. "1 1zz4 g01ng t0 k1llz y0u no4!"
((You just gotta love Albireo's broken pokemon dialect ;D ))

"Okay Albireo! LARGE WAVE! NOW!"
Albireo let out a loud bark, his version of Prince's battlecry. Albireo dove down into the water, disappearing for a moment. When he reached the bottom of the battle arena tank, he started to head up again. He used his nice, slick body to it's full advantage. Growing closer to the surface, he put on a burst of speed. He broke through the water and launched into the sky.
While in mid-air, his tail glowed. He descendend into the water once more, putting all of his weight into his tail and -- dsjlflaksjdflasjSPLASH! A large tidal wave rose out of the water and started to make it's way towards Ryou, threatening to devour the umbreon.

Ryou jumped backwards a bit as Albireo popped out of the water to yell 'boo' at him and an incoherent, jumbled sentence, flicking his ears backwards. What in the WORLD was this... this.... strange -- Dewgong, was it? -- creature who was hardly understandable, doing yelling at him about food? At least, he thought it was food. It could have been--
"Look out!"
SPLASH.
Ryou snapped out of his thoughts just in time to sense the giant wave in front of him. His sightless eyes widened as he turned and jumped to the side, aiming for another platform, but the wave was much too large to escape. It swept him off as soon as his paws hit the second platform, pushing him underwater. It took him several moments to orient himself before he began to frantically swim towards the surface. His head popped out from the water and he gasped, coughing a bit to get the water out of his throat. He flicked his soaking wet ears forward as he struggled to keep his head up, trying to find out where Albireo was now.
Kazuki panicked when Ryou took so long to resurface, but he quickly regained his nerves. "Ryou, dark pulse, quickly!"
"Bre!" He knew what his trainer meant. Suddenly, his eyes and all his gold rings began to glow dark blue for a moment, before he loosed a giant surge of dark energy, sending it out in waves throughout the entire pool of water.

"Albireo! Let's go through this with a horndrill!"
Albireo submerged himself into the water again. He could sense the oncoming attack, but he knew he couldn't give himself away with a sound. He closed his eyes and used his tail to give him a final push to break through the attack. A large bruise appeared on his back from the attack and his body felt numb for a few moments, but he continued on his path towards the black dot on the surface of the water.
He started to swim upwards, his battered horn started to spin. He aimed for Umbreon's bottom...or his butt in other words. Ouch...he would surely be sore if he was hit.

Directly after releasing his attack, Ryou sputtered a bit and swam as fast as he could towards the nearest platform, of which he only knew the general direction. He managed to bump into it after several moments and quickly tried to scramble onto it. He had managed to get both forelegs on top and was in the process of hauling himself out, when a powerful horndrill attack hit him squarely on the left hip. In an instant he was sailing through the air before landing on his side on another platform farther off, slipping across but stopping right before the egde. His sightless eyes snapped open as he growled, heaving himself upright after a moment or two. He took a few steps forward towards the center of the large platform and hissed as a sharp jolt of pain shot through his left leg, causing him to limp.
"Ryou, use shadow ball!" Kazuki called as his hands balled into fists. Poor Ryou... He had so many scars already, how much more could he take?
"Umbreon!" The dark-type snarled, his ears pinning backwards against his skull. His eyes and rings glowed dark blue for a moment before several pinpoint spots materialized in front of his nose. They grew swiftly as they spun around in circles, and with another snarl, the Umbreon sent them each into the water to go after Albireo.

((Welcome to the world of things making no sense, may I take your order? 8DDD ))
"Albireo! Ice beam them!"
Albireo barked twice, excitedly. He knew what would happen next! He horn started to glow, a glowing circle of blue, frosty light started to appear infront of it. The light soon turned into a beam and Albireo directed the beam at every ball in sight.
The shadowballs soon turned into large chunks of ice which fell down into the water. The water level started to rise and the platforms started to become submerged in water. Of course, Albireo could not freeze ALL the balls on time. One came up behind him and gave him a good hit in the back, causing him to disappear into the water where he remained.
With water up to her ankles, Luna gave her next command. "Horn drill the platforms!"
A moment after the command was given, the platform that Ryou was drilled open by Albireo who then proceeded to aiming his deadly horn at the umbreon.

Kazuki's thoughts raced as he tried to think of what Ryou should do next. The poor Umbreon's hip had taken a harsh blow, he probably wouldn't be able to jump to another platform. Maybe... "Ryou! Stay on that platform, it will keep floating! Use psychic!"
"Bre..." The dark-type muttered, his tail swishing back and forth in an irritated manner. He could sense the Dewgong's presence directly below him, but it still startled him when he felt the platform start shaking from the force of the blow. Quickly he summoned a small ball of psychic energy, his body glowing as the bright purple ball in front of him swelled to the size of a basketball.
CRACK.
The platform suddenly split in half from the force of Albireo's attack, and the Umbreon quickly scuttled to the side. As soon as he knew the Dewgong's head was close, he shot the psychic attack, aiming for the eyes.

"Albireo! JUMP THROUGH IT!" Luna ordered, the words slipped through her mouth before she could even think. It was an on-the-moment thing.
Albireo did the only thing his brain could process - obey his trainer's command. He jumped right into the mass ball of psychic energy. The first thing that came to his senses was pain. A squeezing constructing pain. It wasn't fun! He didn't like this at all!
He just wanted it all to stop! Stop...freeze! LIKE A POPSICLE! With that idea in mind, Albireo opened his mouth to let out an icy wind infront of him where he knew his opponent was. Or at least vaguely knew. And with Ryou's fur soaked in water, the attack could definately cause major hypothermia...and frostbite.

As Albireo performed an attack Luna had not told him to, Kazuki had no way of telling Ryou what to do. He was caught completely off-guard by the Dewgong's sudden icy wind.
Ryou, however, was more prepared than his trainer. He could sense the Dewgong's attack before it hit, which gave him enough time to attempt to dodge it. Thinking quickly, the Umbreon jumped towards the other end of the broken platform, but the chilling attack blasted the same hip that Albireo's horndrill attack had hit. With a yelp, the dark-type landed sprawled on the platform, his hip in pain and chilled to the bone. He knew he couldn't go into the water now, for fear he wouldn't be able to swim properly or get back out again with his hip injured this badly.
Kazuki clenched his hands into fists, trying to think. He had the same thought as Ryou; the Umbreon wouldn't be able to swim properly because of his hip. "Psychic!" He called suddenly, the first attack that popped into his mind.
"Breon!" Ryou called, summoning another small dot of purple energy. His eyes and rings began to glow dark blue again as the ball started spinning in place, rapidly swelling to the size of a basketball. As soon as he was satisfied with its size, the Umbreon shot it towards the Dewgong again, hoping to stave him off.

"Don't let it get to you Albireo! Dive!"
As the hold on the last attack wore off, Albireo had enough time between the release and the attack to jump into the hole he made and flee into the water to avoid the attack.
"Rainy Day!" Luna ordered.
Silently, from the water, Albireo's eyes glowed. Dark stroms started to appear overhead. Rain started pouring wildly. Cold water. The water level also rised to Luna's knees. The water threatened to drown anything that could not swim.
Luna herself shivered. SOMEONE was going to get hypothermia from this match, she knew it. And she certianly hoped it wasn't her. "I hope you have an umbrella Kazuki!" Luna shouted.

"I don't, unfortunately, but even if I did it wouldn't help!" Kazuki shouted back, staring down at the rising water level. Was she crazy?! He quickly looked over at Ryou, wondering how he could handle this. The platforms were still floating, yes, but now with the water levels rising and the rain added onto that, Ryou had best stay out of the water. "Stay on the platform, and use dark pulse again!"
"Bree..." He growled, shivering first due to the icy wind and now because of the damn rain. His whole body glowed dark blue as he prepared the attack, knowing the Dewgong would be hard put to avoid it. Suddenly, he shot the attack into the water, keeping it solely in the pool so as to avoid hurting either trainer. The dark energy surged through the water in powerful waves, covering every square inch of it.
