Alyxus Greco was as far as he knew the eldest adult male that he knew of, but that did not stop him from hope of finding more of his kind at whatever age they may happen to be. It was the memory of his deceased wife and calf that kept his heart determined to move forward. He knew of only one female now and she was young and had never been exposed to the lifestyle of a true Minotaur village. Alyxus never rushed the young, they seemed in a hurry to grow up all on their own and all he knew was that he'd give anything to be as young and carefree as he was when he was but a young bull. Now he was grown, the tragedies of life had scarred him, but in return for his penance the world had blessed him with knowledge. He was now determined to never let that knowledge die when he passed into the next world. Today he took his map, the one he had slowly been creating with the help of the stars and the sun, and sought out a patch of land to rebuild a village in the hopes other Minotaurs who were left to wander would find their way to a new home. He stood at the top of a small hill and surveyed a patch of land just beyond the forest where he had been living a nomadic life until this point. Today he would compile and build the simplest tools he could make, since he had no help to smelt simple metals, with wood and bone. Today he would find a way, come what may.

Out in the field something moved. It was visible only when it passed though sections of low grass other wise it was only traceable by the wiggling grass nearby. It wasn't going fast, and it seemed to be wandering about in little lazy circles.

Cornell was found not too long ago in a forest, alone. He had never had contact with others before that he could remember, he had no idea the blight that the minotaurs are in. He had lived by himself with small forest creatures playing simple games and having miraculously not run into any trouble since his parents had passed away. His parents had died when he was at an extremely young age and he has no recolection of them.
Eventually he was discovered by the red female minotaur La'tarah, he had spotted her at a stream and tried to get a closer look when he tumbled into the river. Once he was plucked out of the water by La'tarah he quickly became attached to her. Having not had the opportunity to be around others he was quick to trust and clung to La'tarah as he began to see her in a maternal view.
Not too long after their games Irmhed came across the two and frightened Cornell at first. Seeing Irmheds catch he was put off seeing as he had only lived with forest animals up until then. La'tarah intervining hid the game and they set out to set up camp.
Cornell did not stay afraid of Irmhed for long and he quickly began to become curious of the male minotaur as well. Following along and doing as he was asked Cornell found joy in the simplest of things, neither of the older minotaurs having yet explained anything of the world outside of the forest to him.

La'tarah grew up as a child in the comforting home of friendly four-legged 'Taurs. Even then, she felt completely out of place, seeing as how she was the only one of her kind that she knew of.
She grew up to be a fine young lady, and that's when, by complete chance, she met Alyxus. He was a strong and wise man and she was happy to have met him. The two got to know each other, but La'tarah was surprised to find out Alyxus' goal to rebuild the Minotaur village. She was sad, however, because she was unable to help in any way, having no knowledge of Minotaur customs and traditions, nor did she know her own parents. Nevertheless, she stayed with Alyxus, having grown quite fond of him, and learned of the stories passed down from his family, as well as the art of stargazing. She made a promise to him to let him know of any other of their kind that she ran into.
It was only a few weeks after that she ran into Irmhedd. He was slightly younger than she, but quite dashingly handsome. Greetings were exchanged, and La'tarah soon found out that he was living an outlined, structural life. La'tarah knew that he liked her, and she kept him company for small conversation and food.
Moving to the river to wash the vegetables and fruits she had collected, she had a chance encounter with a small calf named Cornell. The boy was quite charming, even at his young age, and she took an instant liking to him. Unfortunately, it seemed that he had lived by himself for as long as he could remember, and his only company had been the creatures of the forest. La'tarah decided to make a good impression, being the first being he had met to be able to speak and play with, let alone be the same species as he. Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she "adopted" Cornell and began taking him wherever she went.
Now determined to bring the others together, La'tarah strives to find Alyxus so that she can introduce Irmhedd and Cornell to him.

Alyxus scanned the land, eyes going over but not entirely paying attention to details. Then his eyes scanned back when in the corner of his eye, the grass seemed to be going against the wind's direction and then it did it again. He blinked and paused on a particular patch.
Perhaps it was a small rabbit or a kind of wild fowl, but he never recalled them coming out into open fields quite this far out. He watched it for a few moments longer as he rolled up his map.

May had wandered away from her mother's protective grasp only a short time ago. Now, she was motoring about the tall grass in wonder at every flower, bug and rock she encountered on the way. She wasn't hungry so she didn't cry. When she grew hungry she'd simply cry out and her mother would appear with food, she was sure of it. That's how it happened every other time after all!
The small corpse of a recently dead snake caught her eye and she picked it up, holding it above her head and inspecting it as it dangled in the sunlight.

"Just be careful and watch your step," La'tarah said to Cornell, looking down at him to make sure that he travels safely. If only her hands weren't full from carrying vegetables, she'd gladly lead the young calf by the hand. "I really want you to meet...him. He is very nice and wise and I believe he would be a wonderful role model for you."
She smiled down to Cornell as they continued to walk at a brisk pace. She took a moment to think of how wonderful it would be once they were all together; just the four of them, congregated around a bonfire, sharing stories and backgrounds...if they had backgrounds. At least, the two older men apparently had them. She smiled at the thought of a flourishing Minotaur village, but that would have to come later, if at all.

"Hmmm," Alyxus grunted, and set down the hill to take a closer look at what could possibly be puttering about in the grass.
A hare would have fled and a bird might have chattered. At least, that's the way it usually went when a strange creature approached them in the grass, but this little... whatever it was didn't seem all that interested in running away.
"Now what could we possibly have here, wandering about this far out?" he said to himself and looked down into the grass.

May squealed in delight as the grass parted and a familiar shape appeared silhouetted against the sun. "GIIIEH!" She exclaimed, holding out her prize to him proudly.
Irmhead trailed behind La'tarah, quite content to remain silent as she chattered on about whatever she so happened to want to chatter about. He was happy, in some secret way, that they where finally looking for Alyxus. Three minotaurs all together was more then he'd ever had the opportunity to experience. But four? This bode well for his hopes of a more permanent settlement.

"Gieeeh!" was the sound that would've confused anyone else, but Alyxus knew the sound of children instantly. His ears, soft as silk and black as pitch, lifted instantly at the sound of a child.
Not just any child, a calf!
"Well, well, now," he said gently, observing the bit of dead snake in the calf's proud hands. "You weren't planning to make a meal of that, I hope."
He gave a laugh and tickled under the little babe's chin with one large finger. "And just where is your mother and father, I wonder?"

"Kay!" Cornell said with a smile following beside La'Tarah. The child seemed used to awkward terrain. He had grown up in a fairly strange place for a minotaur, although perhaps not bad the forest had taught him plenty of useful things at a young age. Not to say that he had been sad before but now being around others that were able to speak and looked similliar to him as well Cornell was ecstatic. The calf always seemed to be smilling.
He began to wonder a bit whom this other person that La'Tarah was speaking about was. He was begining to get anxious about meeting some one else. Irmhedd had at first frightened him quite a bit but the child had long since forgotten why and was starting to to become curious of the other male minotaur.

La'tarah smiled back to Cornell, and then looked behind to make sure that Irmhedd was alright, which he was. "We're almost there...we'll be there soon." They were making great time, quickly commuting through the forest. Soon they exited from under the dense, overhead trees and made their way into the lush, grassy fields. For as far as the eye could see, there were only grassy plains being blown by the wind. It was an excellent and comforting place to just sit down and relax. La'tarah had a strong feeling that the older male was close, so that simple pleasure of sitting and relaxing may be coming sooner than she had thought.

Familiar quickly became strange when the large mino spoke. The voice was far too deep to belong to her mother. May dropped the snake and snivelled. Mommy should come running any moment now. She always did! Where was she? May cried but still no mother appeared. She screamed.
Irmhead raised his head, at the sound of a screeching child. He glanced at La'tarah, confused. She wasn't leading them to a four legger village... was she?

In a similar, startled fashion, La'tarah stopped in her tracks and glanced around wildly. What was that?! she thought to herself. She caught Irmhedd's glance and knew that he was thinking the same thing. Cornell probably was, too. Without hesitation, she began running in the direction of the scream. Alyxus would have to wait for a few minutes; right now, she just HAD to find out what was going on!

Alyxus knew a frightened wail when he heard one. "There, there," he said, sweeping her up in his arms. "Let's find your mother, then, hmm? Does she have such sweet long hair like you do?"
He spoke to her gently, rocking the calf in his great arms as he scanned the horizon. It wasn't like a mother to leave a calf out in the open like this, what was more and he worried.
