Sentinels are territorial by nature, and do not always welcome others into their space. This is where you can RP in your Sentinel's private haven, with their invited guests - or RP your Sentinel intruding on someone else's territory! Note: All 'intrusions' must be approved of OOC before they can occur IC. We will not tolerate unwanted territory invasions!Want a Territory of your own? PM the mule with this info: Territory Request Location: (Nothing specific - "Near the lake", "In a stand of tall conifers", etc.) Name: (Just a short thing you can put in the subject of your thread) Description: (You can give more details about the lay of the land here) Resident(s): (Sentinel(s), Companion(s), relationship of Sentinels, eg. child, mate, etc.) Image(s): (Of the residents and the Territory itself, if you have an image) Visitors: (Names of Sentinels/Companions (if any) who are welcome in the Territory) (We will eventually have a banner that you can add your own territory name to, and a semi-standardized Territory thread layout. For now, please exercise your common sense and keep things looking nice!) Once your Sentinel's territory is has been approved you are free to go ahead and make your own thread. If you haven't had your territory approved, then your thread will be deleted. Note: We will not make the thread for you, we want you to be able to edit the topic and first post as desired. Suggested tags: [T] - Territory, much like a journal in other shops/guilds [G] - Group Territory, a semi-private location for those of a specific profession or affiliation [O] - Open, your Sentinel/Group welcomes visitors [C] - Closed, no visitors allowed - Invasion-friendly, you are open to uninvited visitors and invasion RP
..if you think of anything else that'd be handy to put here, please PM the mule with your ideas!

Topic: Territory Size
Hey guys! Although this will be updated with more information in the somewhat-near future, we've noticed a trend lately we'd like to address when it comes to the 'territory' section of RP Character Forms. While it's awesome that folks are sending in detailed territory sizes ('five feet by three feet', etc), keep in mind that the wingspan of your average Sentinel is around six feet, and some of the territories folks have been sending in are literally too small for your Sentinel to spread his or her wings, let alone move around!
The average territory of an unmated, first-year, non-combatant Sentinel (Teacher, Minder, Bard, etc) in a crowded area like the Deep Woods would be big enough to contain one large roosting tree.
Similarly: unmated, first-year, combatant Sentinels (Hunters, Rangers, etc) can have a territory containing two or three trees.
Territory size increases with strength, seniority, need, ambition, location, and a number of other factors. Sentinels outside of the Deep Woods have larger territories than their Deep Woods counterparts, because it is less crowded. Also, Sentinels usually must challenge other Sentinels for their territories, so keep that in mind before you apply for a meek Artisan with a 40-tree territory living in the heart of the Deep Woods! We'll make sure everything is reasonable, size-wise, before approving the form.
As always, if you have any questions, let us know!
