"What are you touching?" Elizabeth asked, not taking her eyes off the paperwork she was filling out.
Mara froze, hands seconds away from a plant that lay positioned against the wall. It had several browning leaves that contrasted its much brighter greens. The Vale was simply going to compare the color to her own skin, but Elizabeth was in a very very bad mood.
She'd heard many of the male observers talk about this - okay one of the few - but in any case she'd heard them talking. They'd called it PMS, or something like that. She wasn't sure what it stood for, but did she reall want to? Elizabeth was a fuming crazy woman that could sense anything during these times.
"Don't play dumb, I know you were, you're always touching something!" Elizabeth grumbled, snapping her pencil and cursing readily. Mara sighed and smiled weakly, unsure how to react to this. Elizabeth rarely acted this way around her, and when she did, the green skinned specimen felt there was something very wrong with her observer. Maybe she was more of a friend now? Mara gave the women a glance and this time a deeper smile flashed across her face. Maybe.
Sighing lightly she fell lightly into one of the multitudes of chairs and fiddled with her hair. Her eyes studied the blank white walls and traced the subtle outlines of decor waiting for something, anything, exciting to happen.

Sodashi strode into the lunch room, humming softly, Aly perched on her shoulders as usual. It was the fourth time today she'd been in here. Honestly, all she ever thought about was food. It was embarrassing. But she was just going to get fruit this time. Healthy stuff. No harm in that.
She stopped at the door at the sight of first Mara, then another Observer she hadn't met yet. Another slacker? she thought hopefully. At the sight of what the girl was actually doing, her high hopes fell. Paperwork. Definitely not another slacker. Sodashi was dying on the inside. No one around here slacked. Besides her, of course.
Setting down Aly before snatching an apple from the fruit basket on the counter, she settled herself across from the other girl watching her work before she couldn't stand watching someone else work during lunch hour for any longer. "Don't think we've met before~ I'm Sodashi. This is Aly," pointing at the baby she'd set on the table, offering a friendly smile.

(( Whoo for slackers! XD As in me, writing responses when I'm supposed to be doing homework. BD ))
Elizabeth looked up when they came in, but otherwise made little note of their presence. Mara knew what the other was thinking, or thought she did. 'Maybe they'll leave once they're stuffed.'
The specimen, on the other hand, watched the two with her eyes. It brought joy to see pairs that got along so well waltzing through the halls. Lunchtime was a particularily splendid way to meet people. Food in one's belly made for a bright and cheery conversation. Why then, was it so dismally quiet?
Mara flinched.
She knew full well that Elizabeth couldn't stand children, but the obsever offered a smile anyway. She must have gone to acting school, Mara figured. Of course, she couldn't act at all, so in comparison everyone was a [insert favorite actors name here].
"Elizabeth," she said, dropping her pencil and stretching back in her seat, realizing full well she wasn't going to get anything done at this point. "And that over there is Mara. She's a bit shy, but friendly anyway." Mara waved sheepishly from where she sat, hearing her name called out.
"On your lunch break as well?" Elizabeth asked, rubbing her temples. Perhaps she had another headache again?
