No I do not have the ability to come up with a cute and clever name...XD Alec sat in the clearing in the forest, quietly turning the pages of the book of constilations he bought for his and Akiko's "get together". "It's a date," Alec muttered, shaking his head. Though he was a bit nervous at having an unofficial date with his "girlfriend", Alec couldn't help but smile. "Man, she is incredible," He breathed, looking up at the stars, "She's kind and sweet and funny and intelligent and..." The golden namir chuckled softly to himself, as he heard himself. "I'm enamored. I just... wouldn't have thought any girl could be as wonderful as she is. Growing up with Patience, I thought every girl was as creul and mean-spirited as she is, but... Akiko is the opposite in every way. And that's a good thing." His eyes flickered back down to the book as he tried to get his mind off waiting for Akiko. Every second felt like an eternity, his stomach doing backflips and his heart in a constant flutter. Alec prayed he'd see her soon.

(I love the name! It's cute. biggrin ) Akiko walked toward the clearing that Alec had set up their "get together". Or that's what he called it, but in her heart she knew it was date. She was feeling really excited, wondering what he had planned for them to do. "Well, what ever it is it'll be fun," thought Akiko. Being with Alec was always exciting and enjoyable, and she always looked forward to seeing him. Speaking of seeing him, there he was! Her pace quickened some. When she entered the clearing she smiled and said, "Hello Alec! How are you?"

Alec jumped to his feet, his heart aglow. "Akiko," he breathed, "You look great." A huge grin spread across his face. Alec worked his way over to Akiko, nuzzling her gently. "Are you ready for our dat--get together adventure?" He smirked mischieviously.

Akiko smiled brightly at the compliment nuzzled Alec back. She loved the simple gesture of affection. She always liked the closeness, and it made her feel as if she could soar with the clouds. "Yep! It's gonna be fun, I can just tell."

"Great!" Alec chirped excitedly. He bounded over to the book and shut it with a small thud. "That's for later," Alec said, almost half to himself. "Alright," He wheeled around to face Akiko again, "I thought we'd start off with a picnic. While we are speaking small woodland creatures are preparing a bountiful feast for the two of us." Alec smiled, trying to hide his nervous excitement. "It's a little ways into the woods, so we have a short walk." He gestured to a gently beaten path winding into the forest. "After you," Alec bowed politely, grinning.

"Ooo, a picnic? Sounds lovely." Akiko smiled. She'd never had a picnic before, but from what she heard of them they were very pleasant. She was a little hungry too, so it worked out nicely. She started to walk down the path he pointed out, feeling excited about what else Alec had planned.

Alec smiled, filled with giddy joy. He fell in step with Akiko, brushing ever so gently against her side as they walked. "I can only hope it will turn out as lovely as it sounds," Alec grinned at her.
Malvolio finished smoothing out the picnic blanket. "Yay! Alec is going to be soo happy! He hasn't even seen this spread yet!" Malvolio licked his lips hungrily as he stared at the food. "Too bad I can't have any..." Just as he was about to sneak away with a sandwich, he faintly heard the sound of footsteps on the path. "Alec and Akiko alert!" He thought to himself and, with a final sweep at the blanket, bounded off into the forest to give Alec his privacy.

(Trying to describe something one has only read about is difficult, so try not to misinterpret it (if that's possible). sweatdrop )
Akiko felt him brush up against her slightly as they walked. It seemed to send a very slight jolt of happiness throughout her that went away almost as soon as it appeared. "I'm sure it will," she replied.
Soon they entered the clearing with a blanket on the ground along with some food. It was such a quaint sight, but Akiko still felt awed. I never had anyone do anything like this for me before... "Wow!" she commented, wondering vaguely if he would notice how awed she was.

Alec was about to say something when they entered the clearing and the words got caught in his throat. "Woah," he breathed. He had asked his "brother" Mal to set up the picnic, but this was something else entirely. The classic red checkered picnic blanket was spread out on the grassy floor. A picnic basket was half open with fresh fruit and sandwiches he assumed Cressida made. The thought of his mom making him sandwiches for his date made Alec blush. He noticed a soft glow and saw jars full of fire flies hung in the trees surrounding the clearing. Alec let out a small laugh, hoping the setting wasn't too much for Akiko. Glancing at his date, Alec was relieved to notice the awestruck expression on her face. But just to make sure...
"Is it okay? It's not too much is it...?" Alec said softly, nuzzling her gently.

Akiko smiled brightly and nuzzled back, having gotten over her initial shock of it all. "Not at all. It's really, really nice." She glanced over at the fire flies again, wondering if they were going to release them after the picnic. "Shall we sit down?" she asked, growing a little hungry from seeing the delicious-looking food.

((All that talk of couple rp made me remember about this thread. Maybe we could pick up where we left off and pretend its still before the kids came along?))
He smiled brightly at her approval. "Great," he breathed, becoming more relaxed by the moment. Noticing her glances at the fireflies, he guessed at the meaning. "We'll let the fireflies out after, okay? I'm sure they won't mind helping us out with the mood for a little bit." Alec grinned. In the glow of the fireflies, Akiko's fur shone. How had he ever managed to catch someone as beautiful as she was? And not only was she gorgeous, but she was incredibly caring and sweet. She was worried about the fireflies! He couldn't stop the wide grin spreading across his face as he brushed Akiko gently and answered her, "You must be starved! I'm sorry to keep you waiting." He gestured towards the blanket, and smiled at her, "Ladies first."

Akiko smiled, happy to know that the fireflies weren't going to be abandoned in the jars. To be honest, she was a little surprised to meet someone that could read her so well. It really made it easier to be herself (not that she was ever not herself). She sat down on the blanket, and commented, "The food looks really good."
