User ImageOkay having your Gaia name or irl nickname as Tifa or Cloud or even Cloti is just fine, I think.

But when people THINK they ARE the characters... that frightens me. O_O I reccently PMed this girl that combined Tifa's name with Cloud's last name so... (Tifa Strife) and it had a bunch of other random letters too, (The original must be taken XD) and I asked her if she was in the Cloti Guild. In which she responded,

"Marlene is at my house right now. :] And what's Cloti? I have seen it online pairing Cloud and I together, and I think its a pretty funny name. Oh, Dezel is coming! Bye!"

I was kinda like. *jawdrop* WTF.

I noticed that a lot of Aeris fans tend to claim they ARE her.
Cosplaying. Nicknames. Those I think are fun and cute. But actually THINKING you are a fictional character.. is a bit extreme.
In fact, I don't think that's even rabid, but a horror all of it's own. xD
I guess, what's uber scary are rabids who think they are characters. There's weird crap like that all over myspace.
On "Aeris'" myspace, you will see her talking back and forth with "cloud" who's username is "cloud loves aeris" and on "Tifa's" myspace, you will see much of the same thing.

It frightens me. I don't know if this is relevant to the Guild but..
Discuss:
-Rabid Clotis/Cleris/anything
-creepy people.

I once encountered an individual who was thoroughly convinced he was the reincarnation of Sephiroth and would once again summon meteor. :/ He was so weird....it scared the hell out of me. Lol. I blocked him and went on with my life.

But. People thinking they ARE the characters is only half of it. There are actually people out there who think they are married/in love/sleeping with certain characters. Like this one individual, Julia (she's famous...in away. xD Has a Encyclopedia Dramtica page all her own, search Sephirothslave) who swears up and down that she visits Sephiroth on the astral plane, and they have sex. Are married. And is entirely lucky hickeys don't show up in the real world when you get them in the astral plane. She's had this mindset since she was twelve. ._.

She has a frightening amount of hatred for Cloud whom she calls "Clod" and says that he is an evil b*****d who killed "her poor innocent Sephiroth who didn't deserve it". She seems to also harbor similar feelings toward anything female as well, which shows in her bad fanfiction.

Some people are really, really, really messed up. D:

Hey Lunar? If that's the person's real name I would edit it out of your post. Even if it is a bit weird I don't want her seeing it and getting upset.

But yeah. I kind of feel bad for people like that. So detached from reality, XD.

User Image No, that wasn't their real username, don't worry about it. ^^ I wouldn't name drop like that. Well, with this anyways. XD

Ones who think they are Aeris, seem to be the creepiest. Or Sephy. -sigh- They go OOC when they do it, too.

O_O!

Omg. I think I know who your talking about. If she's the girl that I'm thinking of, then I got so manny harrassing messages from that girl a while ago. She seemed to be under the impression that I was Aerith, or something, and that I was trying to steal Cloud away from her. She's harassed many people that I know of. Anybody with a Username that even has the word "Aerith" or "Aeris" in it, she will cuss you out. She even harassed a few of the Tifa's I know.

I mean, sheesh, When i'm at an Anime Con or something and i'm cosplaying as Aerith, then it's fun to joke around with people about it, like when people ask, "Oh, arent you suposed to be dead?" Thats funny, and harmless, but being absolutely convinced that you ARE a character, or the reincarnation of that character, is just plain creepy.

And this is why I stay away from roleplay...xD

You can find some pretty scary people who think they are the characters/with the specific character outside of roleplay as well. I've noticed that a lot of artists/fanfiction writers suffer from the same problem. xD

Well, I love roleplaying. xD I love 'being' my favorite characters. But it's not like it's warping my mind, or it's the only thing I spend my time doing. x'3

==-sigh-== The world can be scary.
People who like Tifa and harass Aeris fans and vis versa, are just dumb. xD

I've learned this in Psychology in detail. People who play a role for a long period of time usually integrate into that role. [[obviously...like a woman first learning to be a mother and etc...]] But it's scary...there was this one experiment that they did in Harvard University where they split the college students in half, one half prison guards and the other half actual prisoners. Over time they COMPLETELY integrated into that role. They were no longer college students. The prisoners literally felt a loss of dignity and they were just like zombies. The prison guards were cruel, completely cruel to the prisoners, calling them names, saying racial slurs and sexually harassed them. (All of them were male) Some of the "prison guards" would force the prisoners to have sex with each other. It was just terrible and so the experimenter cut the experiment because of the psychological trauma.

Of course, these rabids that we speak of don't have that severe of mentality but from the looks of it, they completely adopted the persona of the character they play. I've seen some scary ones too. The scariest ones are the Aeris rabids. xd

No, that is scary.

My friend cosplays and sometimes she's "in-character" and when I cosplay this summer, I'm probably going to spend some time being in character.

I promise to come back though. XD

-nod nod- It's fun to cosplay characters on here -points toward sn- But I think it's a little extreme to talk back an' forth with other people as if you are that character. Maybe a comment here an' there that relates to the character in question, but to carry on conversations....>_<

^ I had to do an essay on that XD. Wasn't it supposed to run for 2 weeks, but they cut it after 6 days or something? It was a really short experiment but it had a huge impact on the people involved.

Yeah, they had to cut it really short. Some of the people that played prisoners just broke down after only a few days. It was that bad.
