Since WHEN did someone gain so much weight just by eating?
Oh, heck! Since when did anyone eat ENOUGH to gain so much weight?
It was the wierdest thing, and it had been like that for a while. Ever since, what? The last time she saw that stallion. Uh, that guy...Ronen. They had a little 'fun' together, and he was gone the next morning. Simple as that. Although Vanilla Swirl was a tad hurt by all of this, it didn't bother her for long. Nah, nothing really lingered in her mind for more than a few days. There had only been one thing that ever really made the mare ponder....and ponder....and ponder.
And that was the sudden gain of weight. Over the course of many days, little by little her stomach grew bigger. At first, she was positive it was the food she was eating. Afterall, 'Nilla was an unusual eater. She liked to eat. A lot. But when she began to feel heavy, she stopped. It only took her a few days to realize that not eating was only making her gain even more weight!
What in the world could possibly be wrong with her body? The foolish mare hadn't eaten in days, for she was afraid of exploding if her stomach got bigger, but she also wondered why it grew when she didn't eat. But it wasn't only the weight gain that bothered her. The constant sick feeling waved over her and she always felt like resting.
Something was terribly, terribly wrong. And she needed to find her Father to help figure out what just exactly it was. Ah, where could he be?

The memories were still fresh in her head of the days when she was a doting mother. They seemed so far away though, like time just sped by. Her three children were now all grown, off exploring the world. The days were slow now. Her mate was constantly venturing around, like she would... But her health was finally taking a turn for the better. It could've been the sudden temperature change that had made her ill, and it was best not to tramp around.
But geeze... These days were so slow and boring!
Her hooves fell heavy on the clearing, her red eyes looking around lazily. It took the mare to recognize another... One with quite a large belly. A widening grin tugged at her lips. Now, her first encounter with a prenant mare turned out to be her mate's sister, and Cosette had first believed the mare could not contrl her eating habits. But she had experienced the weight gain before...
Looks like this mare got a little busy.
She giggled a bit and began to walk with a bit more pep in her step towards the creamy-toned mare, her eyes watching the bump of he stomach curiously.
Hopefully she was right, that this mare was carrying young. She wasn't heavier anywhere else!

The days were indeed slow, as they seemed to be taunting her with constant sickness, and strange feelings. Ah, maybe she was just catching a cold with the sudden temperature change. This would be her first winter, anyways. Yeah, that seemed to make sense. It was so darn cold now, maybe her body didn't like that feeling.
When the older mare stepped closer to her, Vanilla Swirl didn't pay much attention to the noise. Many creatures always stopped to stare at her stomach, but they never really spoke to her. But when the mare giggled, it caused the pregnant girl to turn around. "Oh? Hello." 'Nilla smiled, feeling kind of dizzy.
"Ugghh." She mumbled softly, taking her own steps toward Cosette. She had no idea what was going to come out of this meeting, or how much help this certain mare was going to be to her, but she'd soon find out.
"Sorry. I haven't been feeling myself lately." Vanilla managed a giggle herself, and tried her best to hide her obvious stomach. What would this new mare think of her? As a pig? An idiot? A fool? Hmm, hopefully none, since the latter were what she normally was.
And that never failed, considering her current condition.

"Hello..." Cosette greeted, her voice trailing off into a near giggle. p close, she could easily tell that this mare certainly was not fat from food. She was most surely carrying foals. She knew the feeling... To be bloated, dizzy, eating more than she should... She considered the mare's belly for a moment, not thinking of how she looked doing it. For this other mare knew she was preganant.
At least, that's what Cosette thought.
"Oh, you'll feel like that for a while. But then after it's over, you'll feel a lot better. Things might get a little hectic, but it's nothing you can't handle, right?" Cosette grinned a bit, thinking that Vanilla knew exactly what she was talking about. Cosette had avoided the words "prgenancy" and "birth" for she had a feeling this mare might be worried about it, by how she tried to hide her belly.

So the mare was friendly enough, at least. Maybe she really could help her with the problems she was having with her own body. Maybe Vanilla was just over reacting, maybe all mares went through this at one point in their life and it was just a phase she'd be able to grow out of.
Boy, did she not know how right she was.
But when Cosette began to talk, it confused the poor foolish, pregnant mare. "When does it end? I haven't been eating anything lately, and I still gain weight. And I want to feel better now, I don't want this...pain." The mare went along with what the older one was saying, having no idea that it was pregnancy that she was talking about. Sickness, maybe...but foals, no. "Hectic? How so? Will I...die?"
The thought of that possibility came into her mind almost as quickly as the weight, and it freaked 'Nilla out. She didn't want to die, it wasn't as if she asked for this weight to come over her all of a sudden. "I don't want to explode." She said bluntly, staring at Cosette with a horrified expression.

"Well, it ends when it's over of course." Cosette gave the mare a funny look, scrutinizing the young preganant mare with careful eyes. Was she really oblivious to what had happened to her? Her lips had begun to turn downwards, but immediatly turned into a wide grin at Vanilla's words. She pursed her lips in an attempt to keep from lugahing, and she shook her head wildly.
"N-No! You won't explode!" She laughed, blinking hard to try and efocus on the mare. "And you won't die if the birth goes right," She exhaled, her heart pounding as she calmed herself from the sudden outburst. It was just too funny. Cosette had known she was pregnant as soon as there was a bump. Twilight had been there to dote on her and tell her as well.
Where was this mare's partner? Her red eyes flicked about, finding no stallion. "Where's the father?"

The mare emphasized the word 'its' When it's over. When what's over, exactly? Her youth? She was growing up afterall, and as the seasons changed, so did her body. Maybe that's what this new mare meant. Yeah, it made perfect sense. When her own body was done growing, it would all be over.
But Vanilla couldn't help but notice the mare giving her strange looks. She was probably acting like at idiot, because she honestly had no idea what was going on. "Oh." She managed to squeak out, helplessly trying to sound more on track of things than she actually was.
Although Cosette laughed. Ugh, the sound that she hated. It wasn't so much the sound of her voice, or the fact that she was laughing, for it could have been many reasons...but everyone seemed to be doing it. Every corner she turned, and they'd usually find an excuse to laugh at her. Ugh! She hated being laughed at.
"I won't?" 'Nilla mumbled, some what grinning. At least that was cleared up and thank goddness. "The...birth?" Ooh, since when did she hear that word used? It seemed like it had been forever, and it was. The mare tried to remember but nothing came to mind.
Maybe Vanilla Swirl would have known about the pregnancy if someone was there with her in her life, or if her father knew anything on the subject. But neither were true. "Father? Oh, my Daddy's out there somewhere. I was looking for him, actually."
Wait a minute.
The father? Bliss wasn't 'the' father, he was her father. What a strange way to word that question...unless...
...unless what? Vanilla blinked, showing her obvious confusion.

Cosette's laughter ceased as she realized what exactly was going on in this mare's head. Vanilla did not recognize that she was carrying young. Cosette's face grew solemn as she considered the pregnant female for a moment, before a small smile tugged at her lips. "Dear... Do you understand what's going on with you right now?" She paused, chuckling a bit.
"You're not getting fat randomly. You and 'the father' spent some uh... Quality time together, and you're umm..." She offered a sheepish smile as she gestured to her stomach, "Carrying children."
