A dream had woken him again, they didn't frighten him, they never had, he simply knew deep down he was supposed to follow his dreams until they revealed something to him.

His previous dreams had led him to pride rock, to the watering hole, to other places of little interest in the pridelands apparantly. He had always met someone whom told him soemthing, a story, or simply became his friend. Either way he knew that his dreams would not hurt him and that he MUST follow them. Today his dream did not lead him far, a pool wheer his grandmother usually lay in the mud, he had seen ehr do this on several occassions and had never asked why, perhaps that was why he was to come here today? No, there was some other reason but he always had to wait for the answer, always.

Ukoo had been sleeping rather soundly, her dreams full of butteflies and toes twitching-she snored alongside her family. But soon, her butteflies were engolfed in sorrow and pain-fear... blood. She didn't understand it-but it was the heritage of her grandfather-the torment he suffered, why he changed his name. Why he left. She wiggled and squirmed in her sleep, no words escaping her lips but-the heat and fury in her head-woke her with a start. She sat, blinking her tired crimson eyes-looking around with a yawn. Not again. She squirmed out from where she had stuffed herself inbetween family members and waddled away from them-to have some self time.

Unlike Abiona-her dreams didn't lead her anywhere or help her meet others. Rather-it made her want to not meet anyone else. It made her grumpy and afraid sometimes-especially after seeing her grandfather fighting that wolf... It opened her eyes. Perhaps everyone in this family was crazy... just like her.

She sighed and waddled along, feeling the familiar smushy ground of the waterhole under her dirty paws.

Abiona lifted hishead as he heard the sound of foot falls, of course, he didn't expect to find his sister comeing towards him. usually, these dreams lead him to new people, new places. he knew his sister, or thought he did. Sighing gently he got to his foot paws and contemplated leaving, he didn't geton very well with any of his family, he much prefarred to be alone. Then again, perhaps his dream had told him to sit here for a reason, maybe he was supposed to converse with his sister.

Of course when Ukoo plodded closer in to his line of sight he realised how tired she looked, how worn and frightned. Tilting his head he padded towards her. "Hey Ukoo." He whispers nudging his sisters shoulder gently. "You look tired, why arn't you sleepin'?"

Ukoo's eyes widened at hte sight of her brother, Abiona. She smiled and waddled over too him, glad to have someone to sit with for a while. Ukoo-loved all her siblings equally but that fact that Abiona didn't get along with everyone else-made her love him more. She blinked her crimson eyes at him, as he welcomed her and she cooed in reply-not saying anything but making her small coo of a dove-her favorite reply to things. She looked away when he questioned her-he'd never understand. She didn't even understand really.

I haven't been havin' good sleepin' dreams lately Aboina... I have funny dreams... all the timeShe said, rubbing her nose against his cheek. She didn't understand the blood, the fear... why she woke up and was afraid. She sighed and looked down at her feet. I come out here alots at night... I don't sleep goodly at all

Abiona raised a brow at his sister, had he just heard what she said? Licking his dark lips he cleared his throat. "Well..dreams can't hurt you Ukoo, sometimes you have to follow them, they might lead you to enlightenment." His nose wrinkled then, there he went again, his dreams gave him words, words he didn't understand but always felt he had to say at certain times in conversation. He knew it made him sound, snobbish almost, even to his family, but words just popped out of their own accord, it wasn't his fault!

Grinning sheepishly he shookhis head flicking a stray strand of hair from his eyes. "uhm..i mean, maybe you should yanno ask someone about your dreams if..if they frighten you.." He swallowed hard, was he passing the buck? He never spoke to anyone about his dreams, but if Ukoo had funny dreams and she asked one of their parents, or grand parents, then he would find out their reaction and then, well then maybe he would ask too..Maybe..

Ukoo sighed and looked too her sibling. She wrinkled up her forehead at him-curious to what he was getting at. She normally didn't have dreams that lead her anywhere-except into a night of no sleep. She looked down at her paws, wondering if her dreams would lead her into what she say-pain.. blood... fear. Ens-lighten-sment... She questioned but she was sure he meant something good... She had what-one good dream in the past week.

Ask someones about my dweams... but... they are so scarey She said, looking at him with a solemn look on her face. It was true... She didn't understand them but she soon would. She'd recognize that the face of the one she saw all the time-was none other than her grandfather.

She shook her head slowly.
I dunno... but my dreams make me afraid.

Abiona licked his lips, his youthful mind jogged its way through the questions which rolled so close tot he edge of his tongue. Swallowing hard he cleared his throat. "I..I have dreams too.." He trailed off, he'd never told anyone in his family about his dreams, he just kept them to himself and followed them as he needed to. If ukoo had dreams as well though. Maybe they were similar?

"I just..they usually show me a place and if I sit there for long enough someone shows up, someone important shows up..like a guide..but..well it gives me words too like, like enlightenment, I think it means ..I don't know but it just feels right to say them when I speak.." He blinked and an embarressed silence falls over the little khaki cub. "Don't tell mum and dad okay? I think they will freak out or soemthing.."

Ukoo sat with her head hanging a bit, her eyes wandering across the ground as she thought. She did a double take and looked at Abiona, her eyebrow cocked. He had dreams like her? She leaned foreward to look him more squarely in the face, to make sure he wasn't making fun. SHe noted that his face was not that of a joking cub. Weally? She asked, looking away. So-maybe it was normal... for these dreams to happen.

She narrowed her eyes when he talked about his dreams-and she felt a shiver cross over her spine. Hers... weren't like that at all. SHe didn't get led places... she didn't get anything from them other than scarey stuff and no sleeps. She looked at the ground and swallowed a lump in her throat.
Urm... I don't have dweams like that. I-I... I have scarey dweams... She said.

The youngest male of the litter l;ooked at his sister oddly, perhaps Ukoo was just having nightmares and he'd just revealed he was having strange drerams? He felt confused and alone for a moment, like his whole world was crumbling down around his ears bringing with it some sort of shame or simply fear of the unknown.

Perhaps it was the thought of being different that scared him, but he let these thoughts roll off his back as he pursed his lips to reply to his sister. "W..well..maybe your dreams arn't like mine Ukoo..bu..but I still think you should ask someone, maybe, maybe you're seeing something important in your dreams." He paused and pursed his dark lips, maybe if Ukoo asked first he could pluck up the courage to ask about his own strange gift.

Ukoo looked too her pale brother and smiled a bit in her uncomfort. The fact that her sibling had dreams-thogh not like hers-but still had dreams that told him something... and this made her comforted. Perhaps her dreams would end up like his-and tell her things that were good and help her-but so far they made her grumpy and scared at times. Nope... I dun even knows what day means sometimes... She said, rubbing her cheek with her muddy paw.

She looked at him with her red eyes and looked away with a sigh. She was worried that there was something wrong with her and that it was a sign that she was not strong like the rest of the family... like her uncle Ardhi. She shook her head
Who's would I talks to? I dun even know whats I see's... She said, and it was true. She sometimes only heard words or saw brief images... sometimes she did manage to see something familiar but she couldn't understand or comprehed that it was her grandfather and great grandfather half the time

Abiona sat in silence for a long time, his deep green eyes looking thoughtful. "You should speak to grandfather, he will know what you're seeing." His brow creased then, it often confused and worried him that he came out with such phrases so willingly, yet he felt confident that if Ukoo spoke to their grandfather she would get the answers she was looking for.

Smiling he nuzzled his sister. "Don't worry Ukoo, you'll see it'll be alright." he smiled softly his deep green eyes shimmering, he suddenly felt very close to his sister, closer than he had felt to anyone else in his whole family.

Ukoo looked at her brother and felt a warmness that she had never felt before-a closeness to him. Their uncle Pya was mean to her and scared her and she had been avoiding alot of contact with alot of people to avoid the fear of making them hate her too-for being weak and diffrent... but... her brother was like her. She smiled and nuzzled him back. Why would gammpa know? She asked, looking at him curiously.

She smiled warmly and looked down at her feet.
I--I feels much betters knowin' you understand abiona... She said, smiling shyly down too her feet.

Abiona looked at his paws shyly. "I dunno, I just, I just know he will be able to clear it up for you, he'll tell you what your dreams means." He smiles at his sister wrapping a paw around her in a hug. "Don't be frightened of your dreams Ukoo, they will lead you to places that may be frightening at first but you'll learn to respect and even love them."

The youngest male shook his head, it was at times like this that he wished the voices would stop speaking to him, telling him what to say and how to say them. he felt old, much older than he acctually was. It was a large weight to put on a little cubs shoulders.

Ukoo smiled weakly at her brother and nuzzled into him-there was something in his words that assured her and soothed her fears. She sighed and blinked. She shouldn't be afraid of them-but they scared her sometimes and she felt that-they were going to hurt her... perhaps not now but... later. Or something.

Yer wight... I shouldn'ts be 'fwaid. She said, her crimson eyes not so frightened looking but rather-warm and comforted. She blinked and looked too him with a sly face. PWaps my dweams will be happy and nicey likes yers soon She said, her tiny heart pumping in her chest... so hard she could feel it in her throat... to have happy dreams.. .like her brother.. was going to be a dream of hers now

Abiona smiled gently at his sister and nuzzled her gently. "I'm sure they will be Ukoo." He stood then padding back towards the family den. "C'mon, lets get back before someone notices we're missing." he smiles nudging his sister encouragingly.

"I''m sure your dreams will turn out alright in the end." He puurrs padding back towards the family den. He had discovered what his dreams wanted him to. He wasn't the only one in their family that dreamed of strange things.
