The sun conured mare stood looking down at her reflection in the crystal clear water. Winter was coming, the winds were picking up and soon she wouldn't want to leave the teepee or she'd have to migrate some where else. She hated the cold. She looked at her reflection, her eyes not as coloured as once before but dulled. She was questioning her relationship with her...mate? That seemed to be thrilling, seeing as they saw each other...never? She cursed in her mind for falling for him, why? She didn't know but she loved him, she thought. Or maybe it was just lust lacing over her eyes. She had bore his childeren, one she had seen almost never the same as her father and last time she had she bore wounds of one she would hope to never encounter. Though it seemed Raina had gotten the bitter end of the stick. She had been abused and raped, her own daughter. Perhaps she had failed. Though Raina said it was her own fault she couldn't believe it was only hers.
She sighed as she let a single tear fall from her eye but she wiped it away angerily. She wasn't this weak. Was she? She couldn't be...Perhaps for her family seemed to be off on their own now. All of them, she barely saw Raina now. Was she even deemed worth of this Earth if she was supposed to feel this goddamn lonely?

Though a chill wind blew, to Guilian the day was as bright and warm as he could possibly wish for. The sun was shining, his coat was gleaming, his roses were fresh and glossy, his curls were blowing about his face in a most becoming way...he looked good, he knew he looked good, and he was happy.
And why shouldn't he be happy? Only recently he'd met up with both his oldest friend Ariston and his beloved son Antony; during the course of that meeting, he and Ariston had been delighted to learn that his son wand Ariston's daughter Loveless had an amorous relationship with one another, something that both fathers were delighted by. Naturally, said relationship was not monogamous, but that didn't mean that it didn't make both fathers happy...especially if there were foals. Those would be some gorgeous children, alright...
But much as he loved the idea of his children finding happiness in children of their own, Guilian was by no means ready to write himself off as 'just' a grandfather. To look at him, one would never guess he was the father of five, and he loved it that way. After all, life was made for pleasure, and he was made for life!
All these thoughts drifted through the stallion's mind as he walked along, the picture of pleased contentment...until a dash of color caught his eye. Well well...what did he have here?

The alicorn's tail drifted back and forth debating on this dreary topic that was just starting to piss her off and the ones that knew her best knew an angry Kila was not to be tempered with. Her baby blues looked up, she had scented another and was on the cautious side today. Her head turned looking to see a rather handsome stallion of crimson. A pool of blood from a distance, but as her eyes focused her had the markings of a bird too...a cardinal. Now those birds could be seen in these parts.
She tilted her head slightly, flickering her ears forward to see if he was just passing through or what it looked like he was doing.

To say that Guilian was intrigued by the mare was putting it mildly. Never before had he ever seen a mare with such a wide array of colors, particularly not colors that seemed to be concentrated in one particulat place. Body of yellow, mask of red, wings of the brightest flourescencts...she was something the like of which he'd never seen before.
But original was certainly enjoyable itself.
Noticing that the mare was looking his way as well, he bowed his head slightly in greeting, calling out cheerfully as he approached, "Good afternoon, Chica. Isn't the sun delightful today?"

She smiled, actually knowing what the word 'chica' meant. Her father said it often and her mother responded with 'chico' though you knew you had to leave the room when she said 'papi'. Even though thats what Kila called him, two completely different meanings.
She nodded, "It is, indeed." she replied catching his eyes. Already it seemed she could tell he was the 'charming' type. She looked to the skies, if only her personality could be as bright as the sun on this day she thought to herself looking back to the stallion. "It seems you are basking in every minute of it as well?"

Realizing that the mare was at least open to conversation, Guilian directed his step over to her side with a surer tread, his smile wide and pleasant. Coming to a stop right before her, he gave the mare one of his most charming looks, sweeping her a bow of greeting as he did so. "Indeed, Chica; after all, the wind might be cold, but as long as the sun is warm and bright the spirit soars above the clouds. It is only when the skies become gray that the spirit becomes dejected, and as I enjoy happiness of spirit, so to do I enjoy the sun."
Finishing up with his little speech, Guilian straightened up and gave the mare a curious look. "But hoping this is not too personal, you seem far too dejected for a day this beautiful. Perhaps some companionship would help to lift your spirits?"

She watched as he edged closer to her, he stood before her with the confidence she couldn't quite explain. Her brow rose as she let out the first glammored grin she had in some time. He was bright though and just not in color.
"Company would be most welcome, I have become a bit secluded these days it seems." She shrugged, "I'm Kila by the way, forgive my rudeness." she smiled dimly a bit embarrased.

"Well, while I am most pleased to offer you my companionship, let me be the first to offer my condolences on the sad state of affairs that has resulted in this solitude of yours, Chica. While I certainly and freely admit that there are occassions where solitude is ultimately the most enjoyable manner of existing, as a rule I tend to find that too much solitude leads to an overly-repressed mental state. To say nothing of the havoc it wreaks on one's social behaviors, no?"
Finishing up his little speech on a lighter note, Guilian gave the colorful mare a grin and wink that could only be described as conspiratorial. After all, what better way to start figuring out their level of accodation for each other than through the judicious use of humor? She was interesting to look at, after all, but looks could only take one so far.
