Alone he trodded down a desloate, forlorn trail that weaved through the thick shadows of the forests and out towards the open plains. His pale, ghostly figure adorned with flowing, long locks of purest crimson like that of freshly slaughtered blood whisped beside him while his eyes of purest black, save for a small light within the void of utter darkness, focused before him. Night was begining to ursurp the throne of the sun and along with it came the bitter cold as an early preceed to the winter that seemed just around the forest and soon to bellow out in rage with snow and that chilling, jowl clenching sensation of the cold that cut right down to ones core. Ezriel flickered his ears and snorted slightly as a wreath of mist emitted from out of his nostrils. Damn, it was cold.

His muscles tensed slightly as he wandered from out of the shadows and began absent mindedly walking straight towards the open plains without a hesitant setback. Finally, the stallion was attempting to head back home; home to his mother, Lady Korrine, and hoping that he could see his sister and brother again or perhaps they too had ventured and distanced themselves just as he had?

Ezriel shook his head.

No. Meera and Dante both seemed that they would stick close to their mother but, again, he could be wrong. Everyone was destined to change and grow both physcially and mentally and perhaps that was exactly what they had done. But he couldn't help but growl quietly to himself and claw at the ground with a cloven hoof.

"They couldn't have left her," he mumbled low, a tone that kept quite only to himself as his mind seemed to mull over the thought that seemed to knot his stomach. "They wouldn't leave her alone while Reaper could be on the damn prowl."

The mutant gave a slight jerk of his head to the right as his crimson locks brushed from out of his eyes.

Why was everything in such damn bad shape and complicated?

Ezriel cursed under his breath and narrowed his eyes towards the ground as his spiked-spaded tail swayed behind him with a ridgid pose.

For once he just wanted to go home.

"Cold, cold cold.." The words continued to emit from Rowtag's mouth as he slowly flew in the cold air. He hated the cold. It made him feel powerless. his fiery mane was low to his neck instead of the normal furry it was.

He lowered to the ground, his hooves touching the cold grass that adorned the earth. He pranced a little, trying to get warmer. "Why does it always have to get cold.." The flames around his hooves dulled till they were small rings around his ankles.

He stopped and turned his head when he heard a slight rustle of leaves. "Oh great.." he said as he started to shiver, his mane growing closer to his neck. "I can't let anyone see me like this." He looked around for somewhere to hide, but knew that he had been spotted by his trademark flames.

The pale, almost ghostly stallion had become engrossed within his own thoughts and his mind. Inside he could feel that darkness that he had learned to harness clawing at his mind and becoming restless but no matter how it howled to be released, Ezriel kept it deep within the depths of his mind contained and out of harms way. Resisting such power that could consume and fill him with that wonderful sensation and exhilaration of power and ability that the darkness doused over him caused his front feet to tremble exceedingly and his shoulders to tense with a rugged and tense posture. Ezriel couldn't help but clench his jowls and growl slightly with a displeasing sound rising from his throat.

"Damnit," he spat low, reserved and quite. That ever present feeling as if he was being watched from afar by his bloodthirsty and voracious father made his stomach churn with displeasure and caused him to once again isolate himself within his thoughts. The last thing he needed was his father, Reaper having made the decision that his own son wasn't worth the name of his legacy and was to attempt to kill him or having him prove his worth and do dark deeds to others or worse- against his own family.

The chilling breeze caressed against his face causing the mutant to tense even more and flick his ears as he continued on his way or at least before he saw something flicker in the distance.

"What the hell?" He snorted and pawed at the ground with a cloven hoof- feeling the darkness and inner demon anxious and howling with a piercing plead to be released yet again he ignored them and simply frowned. Should he go investigate whatever was around? Or even should he give a damn about what it was or what it wanted?

Ezriel stood still for a few minutes as his nostrils exhaled another wreath of cold mist and yet he couldn't fight it. Whatever the hell it was he wanted to find out and it ws a threat he was sure he could give it a good beating accompanied with deep gashes just to get the point across.

He chuckled to himself and began approaching rather quietly keeping his presence low and his form submersed within the thick shadows of the night.

The flames started to get hotter as his mane crackled. He blew his blond bangs out of his face as he began to get skittish. He normally wouldn't act this way around others, but his flames were low, giving him the disadvantage on the other teams field.

Rowtag could have flow away, but forgot about the feather appendages stuck on his sides. He tried to run, but didn't know which direction to go. his fire colored tail swatted at invisible bugs as he started to get more anxious. What if it was a skinwalker?

The dancing flames that kindled upon the other weren't hard to miss and somehow a small, meager smile seemed to curl upon his maw. At first there arose thoughts that perhaps it was a familiar face- one that he had seen before and who had helped him but sadly, as he got closer, that smile seemed to dissapate and his eyes could see clearly that it was only a petrified wind stallion who seemed skittish and tormented by the fear of some great, voracious monster that would eat him whole or perhaps he was tormented by the unseen imaginary invalid? Well whatever it was that stallion needed to get control of himself. The thought of the stallion being a familiar face vanished- he was too small to be Kidono and seemed scrawny compared to the giant anguni whose build was fierce and massive compared to others.

Ezriel sighed, grumbling low with several scorns as he kept his distance from the opposing male yet managed to tread a few steps closer as his crimson brows knitted.

"What the hell is the matter with you? Keep standing like that soaked in fear and any kalona or demons who walk around here will have a goddamn hell of a time ripping you to shreds," the mutant snorted with a hint of acid. Behind him his spiked-spaded tail swept in an annoyed and restless motion as his soul-less orbs narrowed and a cloven hoof clawed at the ground absent mindedly.

His ears flickered as his tail continued to sway behind him.

"You're not from around here aren't you?"

Rowtag jumped into the air, his wings flapping in the cool wind once again sending shivers down his spine. He sighed in relief as he saw that it was just another stallion. "Oh man, did you ever scare me." He said as he landed on the ground. "Nearly lost my life." He said as his maine flared up again.

When he refered to his life, he ment his flames. But he didn't die once they blew out. He just felt naked, and with the loss, he felt like a normal stallion with no special qualities.

He laughed in embarrassment. "Hehe, sorry. Guess I just got a little creeped out. This kind of weather is the worse for my nerves." He stretched his wings, getting them out of the uncomfortable position they had been in.

All Ezriel could do was stand there with his jowls clenching tighter and a low rumble sounding from his throat. He tried to brush it off as best he could but there was a part of him that wanted to give the stallion a piece of his mind or at least bash him once or twice with his tail and call it a night. The antics of the other stallion whose mane and feet seemd set a-blaze simply caused Ezriel to become riled up and tense- even moreso than before. Why? Hell if he knew! But all the stallion knew was that he was tired of others and he was more than sure that soon the stallion would give a wise crack about his looks or demand a brawl to see how tough he was. He had shown several others his stamina, strength and power and some of then had nearly lost his life and for the moment he was waiting for the invitation.

But aside from the anger that was a part of him that just- well, needed to be let out. Aside from the darkness that could bring rapture upon his heart and consume him whole, Ezriel wasn't a bad guy. He ha a good heart and could be quite the gentlemen but that part of him never did get to distinguish itself often and it was hard for him to break free of the bad habits that the demon within had enrooted within his mind.

Crimson brows knitted once again as his long, flowing mane of purest crimson waivered above the ground. "Just be damn careful around here," he advised with a snap of an aggressive nature that seemed to spark.

Ezriel was short on words and patience and with a snort, the male clawed at the ground.

"What are you doing out in the middle of this barren Hell of a land? I never see anyone out beyond these borders except for those who walk the night and feast on flesh."

He smiled at the other stallion, but it soon fadded into a serious look when he gave him the order. "Yes sir!" He said then relaxed. His tail swayed softly behind him as he tossed his bangs out of his eyes.

"Well, if you must know, I...." He looked around, and came closer to the stallion, whispering, "I got a little lost." He walked back a few feet, the flames on his feet licked his hooves. "My directional skills are shot. Can't read the stars with beans." He hated to admit it. After all, he was a Wind! You'd think he'd be able to get around with no problem. But to him, everything seems to mush together when he's in the sky.

Ezriel tensed at the reaction of the mock order- a small snarl crossing his maw as his eyes narrowed dangerously at the wing. But he could feel that kindness and love of his mother inside of him, warm and ever so sweet, soothing him unexpectedly and causing his tension to dissapate just as ones cold, misty breath within the air. He shook his head, tail hanging rather limp behind him as he remained silent but as if the oblivious wind had to do something else, he came closer to him.

Though he shuddered and exhale a deep, rugged breath, the mutant stallion quirked a brow upwards. "You got lost? Well what a damn mistake of all places to get lost here," he commented gruffly with a shake of his head but even so he could simply envision his mother advising him sweetly to be kind.

And he bit his tongue.

Again the stallion snorted as he stammered a cloven hoof into the ground. "I guess you need some help getting out of here? Hell- if I were you I wouldn't want to be here and I'd get my a** out of here." Ezriel briefly glanced around and clucked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and pivoted about and began walking.

"Coming or what?" He called out, glancing behind him as he continued with a casual pace.

The last thing he wanted to have on his conscience is sending a helpless and oblivious stallion to his death and that was something Ezriel could do without for now.

Rowtag listened to the stallions words, taking his actions into context. He must be very annoyed with him, or had a bad day. He eyed the spikes on his tail and forehead and noted that he probably lost his temper easily. He made an effort to remember that.

"Oh yeah, sorry." He said as he broke into a gallop to walk beside him. He watched him more closely, and decided it was best to break the silence. "I'm Rowtag." He said with a smile. "What are you called?" He asked, curiosity running through his crimson eyes.

The mutant stallion rolled his eyes, grumbling to himself with a few curses and scorns slipping under his breath. There was something about Rowtag that made him tense- something about him and his rather peppy and zestful grasp and embrace to life that seemed to cause Ezriel to try to keep a distance between them for fear that the male would suddenly begin to prostolite how great and wonderful life was or spout out a sudden exclaimation of "GOOD MORNING- ITS A BEAUTIFUL DAY" or "LOOOOOVE LIFE" with a choke to his voice and tears streaming down his eyes.

Ezriel didn't love life- he simply lived it day by day and put up with whatever pummeled him down and tried to stop him from living and doing whatever the hell he wanted. He tried to live to see another day and fought off his demons as best he could.

What else was expected of him?

He grumbled again and shook his head as he didn't want to think of such things at the moment.

The stallion gave a side glance towards the fiery, winged stallion and knitted his brows. "....A pleasure," he managed to note with a scattered smile across his maw, crimson brows knitting as he pursed his lips. Although the two kept walking, Ezriel wasn't sure where the hell he was suppose to lead so- well, he kept walking forwards with no intention or desire as his feet were now leading him and there was no use stopping them from venturing onwards.

Remaining silent for a few moments the stallion snorted.

"Names Ezriel."

And then silence fell once again between the two.

"Ezriel.." He repeated. "That's an interesting name. I've never heard anything like it." He looked up to him, crimson eyes wide. He just now noticed the strange horns that adorned the other stallions body.

"Hey wow those are cool!" He said with excitement, his ears perked forward. "Bet those could make some major damage." He smiled as he pranced around. He figured like he was some kind of unicorn. He had never seen one, but he had heard that they had horns.

Onward the stallion meandered with the other stallion trailing him. Ezriel did his best to keep himself from gritting his teeth and rolling his eyes from view- he never did click or mingle with males and it took effort for him to keep himself from chewing them out or, even worse, becoming violent. Rowtag was- interesting, to say the least.

"My mother picked it out," he simply commented low, reserved as his ears flicked backwards and his tail flicked with wide strides from side to side.

And then of all things he had to point out his spikes and horns.

Unlike his father whose spikes all upon his body pained him and bled, Ezriel didn't feel pain and nor did they bleed. But his spikes were something fierce and horrific and a curse which had been passed down from his father to him and his brother, Dante. The stallion himself often refrained from thinking about his demonic weapon that was attached to his body and never did he get pleasent comments about them as most often he was scorned, scoffed and ridiculed for them. And when soquili hassled him and made him a fool, Ezriel never once had hesitated to fight back and he had yet to lose. Those crimson brows narrowed as he lowered his head slightly.

"You have no idea," he commented a bit darkly, a low grumble in his throat as a lone, well trodded tail began snaking through the plains and towards the thick, seclusive forests of the lands.

The stallion finally managed to glance back towards the wind and again grumbled, flicking his tail with a slight irritated manner.

"So where the hell can I drop you off and leave you so you won't get eaten? Or where do you need to get to or go?"

The fiery stallion slowed his pace. "A mother.." He said softly, he had never known his mother. For the longest time he thought he was born from the sun itself. Btu as he grew older, he realized that that could never happen.

He always pictured what she would look like. Golden locks lacing over her delicate white body, bright orange eyes that pierced into the soul of anyone they came in contact with. Sadly, the beautiful image he had in his mind was only a creation of his own imagination.

He looked back over to Ezriel, ignoring his last question, "What's she like?" His demeanor seemed to change. His attitude seemed to make a complete 360.

He had been hoping that the stallion would hav told him where he could take him and drop him off so he could become a vagrant again without any hitchhikers but that wasn't the case. As the question pertaining about his mother was asked, Ezriel slowed his pace a bit as his lips pursed.

The stallion had yet to see his mother again and so desperately he wanted to see her again but he kept many things to himself and didn't bother to layment to others.

His mother was beautiful- sweet, caring, compassionate and pleasant. Lady Korrine was the only one who showed him so much love despite his horrid, gortesque appearance and lately he had been craving her comfort and to speak with her concerning so many things.

"My mother..." he began, ears flickering as his brows knitted slightly. "She is beautiful- pure black and a simple soquili; no wings, horns, or elaborate tail. She is kind- she never is quick to pass judgement and those who have hurt her she holds no sins against them. She is everything like an angel except for the lack of wings or a halo but I think some day she will get them."

A soft sigh escaped from his nostrils as he glanced back towards the fiery stallion.

"It makes me feel guilty that I have not visited her and my sister as much as I should. Hopefully that will change soon. I do owe it to Glamrock and her herd for watching over them as well- there have been incidents with my father could have put Glam's herd on the line but she's a devoted individual with just as much love for me and my siblings that my mother has. I owe it to them to visit and thank Glamrock and her herd personally for what they have done."
