Abilities Training hawks, making a fool of himself (accidentally), amazing sense of direction.
Appearance Kumani is outside almost as long as the sun is up, training and sending groups of hawks on their daily schedules. Because of this, his skin has a rather dark tan. The skin covered by his clothes is a lighter shade than the skin that has been constantly exposed to sunlight. He does not do much physical labor other than what is necessary, so his physique isn't noticeably muscular. Since he's the one member of his family willing to clip the hawks' claws, there are scars on most of his body (pointy claws from reluctant animals HURT). A light tan scar runs across his nose from one of his first encounters with his father's hawks.
His hair is rather unmanageable in the fact that strands of it will constantly stick up regardless of what is done to them. His shaggy mane covers most of his forehead. In the back, it extends down to the base of his neck. Although it's usually in the sun, it is still completely dark brown -a trait from his mother's side of the family. He has light green eyes that contrast his skin rather largely.
His outfits usually incorporate a mix of the colors of each nation. At times he'll wear blue or green. However, he always has on a red tunic-length shirt over his normal clothes while working. This shirt has a black fire-nation emblem in the center of its chest. This alters his casual attire enough to make it a uniform. On top of his overshirt, held just above where his hips are, is a woven black belt. His pants are beneath his shirt and just below where the belt is. His pants end halfway between his knees and his feet. They're a darker red than his shirt.
His black shoes begin above his ankle. They're open from where they begin to down to where his ankle begins. They open area is laced up and tied at the top. They're extremely flexible and surprisingly easy to move around in, as the soles are thin.

Personality Kumani has a habit of doing things accidentally that tend to get him into a fair deal of trouble. He's quick to apologize, but because of this, many people believe him to be incapable of doing anything properly, even the members of his own family. He seemingly takes it in stride. When he's by himself, he can do everything correctly, almost to an astounding level. However, once he notices someone watching him, his experience and intellegence seem to come drop disastrously.
He's long since given up attempting to show people he's actually good at anything. When he was younger, Kumani would attempt to prove that he was actually worth something. It never seemed to work, and always eded up making him look even worse than before. Instead, he's taken to doing things by himself so that it would get done well. While working, he tends to stay by himself. However, for whatever reason, when he's not working, he enjoys other people's company, even if they look down on him.
His bending is rather lackluster, as he has no one to teach him. Because of this, he doesn't tell many people about it, nor does he even truly outwardly acknowledge it. In his spare time (when he's not working or when he can't find anyone to be with), he trains. This is usually short-lived self-training sessions. He can only teach himself so much.
Background When he was younger, Kumani's father met a woman that he felt in love with. The story that the two parents have always told the children was that Meilin's mother and Kumani's father married each other and had their daughter. However, shortly after the girl's birth, because he was constantly moving among all of the nations, they divorced and Meilin stayed with her moth. Kumani's father moved to the Earth Kingdom in pursuit of a flock of hawks.
In the Earth Kingdom, he met Kumani's mother, an Earth Bender herself. They fell in love, and a few months later, the boy was born. However, in the process, his mother died. They returned to the Fire Nation. Realizing that his son needed a mother, he attempted to yet again court his ex-wife. It finally worked. They became a family.
