Stormwild landed on the outcropping of rock that overlooked the sea. The sea-Soquili were certainly elusive, and she had been coming here everyday trying to find the right one.
She sighed and got herself down onto her knees, looking into the water below. She was frustrated and upset. She knew Balrog was right, and that irked her. She loved her little Mahi, but no matter how hard she tried, she could never live in the mountains. It would be cruel, like keeping a bird in a cage. She knew her little adoptive daughter needed this Otherworld.
"Somebody help me please," she said to no one in particular, dipping her front hoof into the warm water and praying to the Gods she would find someone soon... before the frost came to the mountains.

An’Jeli, the yellow and black spotted mer-horse, had spent most of today just flitting around in the water and trying to find something interesting to –do- Problem was…? Nothing around for fun.
Well, when in need of something worth doing go to the surface. Four legged creatures were always around or at least it never took long. She shifted restlessly, making ripples in the water before her eyes caught sight of a male? No, no, that was a girl by their rules. Hard for her to know, made ‘Jeli feel just a bit stupid because of the mix ups.
Peaking her head up out of the water when the question for help echoed about in her watery home.. An’Jeli couldn’t help but move closer. “You seek help? Nothing seems to be hurting you.” Talk to four-leggeds – Yes. Let them see you –not so much. She continued to stay hidden… at least for now.

Storm’s ears pricked forward at the moist, lifted her head and looking around at the disembodied voice. “Hello?” Her eyes scanned the rippling water. “I do need help, but I’m not hurt. I have a favor I need to ask the ocean-dwellers.”

An’Jeli floated up just a bit farther so that her eyes stuck out. A net of wet black hair made herself more known and the way the sun glinted showed just a small bit of the yellow beneath the rippling surface. A favor, huh? Carefully she flit farther up out of the water, so she could speak freely to the other. “What is it you need?”

Stormwild stood at the appearance of the black net of hair and eyes that poked out from the surface. These waterhorses were so strange… beautiful and unearthly. It was a sight she wasn’t quite used to seeing. Being born of the wind and living on the mountains, she ocean was a alien world to her.
“A few months ago, one of the fish-tailed Men gave me a shell to watch after. I did my best, but now a foal has emerged. She is of the sea… with fins and scales. Four legs, but a long fish tail. I fear I cannot care for her any longer on my own. She needs to learn the ocean.”

An’Jeli let herself come into more shallow water, hoping that she would not regret doing so as soon as it was over. Almost smiling she propped her two legs up onto a rock, showing off the markings without really thinking about it. This was the farthest she had ever been out of the water and probably the farthest she’d ever go.
A kelpi. They were slightly more common than her type of Mer-Soquili, but just as much lovers of the ocean and what it held. She nodded her head slowly, accepting the task without thinking it over. Flinching for a moment, An’Jeli probed, “What do you expect of me and to be done? I will teach what all I know.. but I do not know the ways of the four-legs… I may fail at what you desire.”

Stormwild smiled pleasantly at the mer-Soquili as she saw more of her. They were more beautiful in the water she noted, making their scales shine like gems. "Would you be so kind of you to teach her the ocean? Or if its not you, someone you trust?"
She flicked her ears as she considered a few things. "Well, yeah, she's different than you, but I have taught her all I can with her legs. She needs to know the ocean. I'm sure she'll take to it in no time, she just needs a little guidance and someone to keep her eye on her so a shark doesn't end her, you know? She's growing so fast."

An’Jeli smiled just a little bit and ever so often she’d bob back under the water to make herself feel comfortable. It was the feeling of dryness that made most sea creatures flinch just a little bit. A quick nod were her only words. Listening was more important.
“Most kelpi have much more bold behavior. They can move freely onto the land which gives them a double mobility. If I were attacked fleeing would be my option and only into deeper water.” She was trying to make her words make sense to the land-horse. “I will do my best and no, no friend of mine will take over the task.” Another dip beneath the surface. “Pick your time and place.”

"You're a very kind soul for helping me," Stormwild said sincerely. "I will have her down over by those rocks," she motioned to a rock formation closer to shore in the distance, "tomorrow, just when the sun is rising. I'm sure she'll take to the ocean, well, like a fish in water! But I can't just leave her there alone, you understand!"
Excitement was evident on the old mare's voice as she spread her wings, catching a breeze. "Thank you again, friend!" She jumped up and took to the air, flying off towards the mountains.

An'Jeli slowly sank down into the water, relaxing her body and look around. The sun was harsh on her body and the short amount of time that she had been above to talk to the flying mare had been just that.. harsh. Her eyes closed slowly and she prayed for a bit of help in being ready to take care of another. The flying mare was the exact opposite of her. She could not go above the surface for long, yet the other went up into the sky.
Smiles came and went for the next couple of hours as An'Jeli tried to focus on what exactly there was to teach. Her life had been alone with very few exceptions and the prospect of being a surrogate mother of sorts frightened her. Even if it wasn't the role of the mother it was the mentor... What if she couldn't think of enough to say.. The sea sometimes had to just speak for itself.

Several hours later, Stormwild arrived back at her rock, wading through the ocean water with her little odd daughter behind her. Mahi had only had ocean water poured on her from the mountain, never had she seen so much seawater before. The warmth of the ocean seemed to radiate out at her - as opposed to the harsh chill of the mountain streams.
Storm was thrilled to see how quick Mahi was already taking to the ocean. She loved the feel of the warm water on her scales and she was already flipping and spashling through the shallows and Stormwild perched on her rock and looked for her mer-friend.
