I use a portable CD player currently and I'd like to go to this for the sole reasons of convenience and to help prevent wear and tear on my CDs.

What do you guys feel is the has the best sound quality (I mean excellent quality that don't sound like it's been recorded in a tin can like many of them tend to sound like), relatively easy to use, and is not too expensive.

I'll will not be downloading videos or music from the internet. I'm not playing on using it for video at all. I'll be ripping music my CDs at this time. Since I have 200+ CD's I want it to have enough space to include all/most of it. I want it to be easy searching for the song as if I have over 1000 songs on it I don't want to scroll through 1000's of songs.


I went the iPod route before. I didn't really like it much for technical reasons.

Note: Tell me about battery replacement/charging on the player you tell me about.


I know very little about which player is better than others and why so I'm putting my trust in your hands.

I'd suggest a zune because it's slim and shweet. If you want a cheaper Mp3 that works just as well if not better, grab a sansa rhapsody. I have an Ipod Nano and those things are very bitchy, Ipods do have non stop technical issues... but on the other hand they're practically indestructable if the problem isn't internal. I don't much about batterly life or anything though :/.

I found out I have at least 1438 songs that will be put on there. They'll probably be some more added but not much more.

As you can see it is important for it to be easy to find the song I'm looking for. I know the ipod's searching is relatively easy for that. It divides the music up buy artist, album, etc. I know what Wii4Mii and Canis were saying about the sound on one as I had one.

Do any of these have easy searching?


I'm not sure what GB = What # of songs.

I won't be using it for video so at Best Buy when reading the reviews people may have been rating higher or lower due to videos.

I don't want to go too high in price either...
