This vessel is the absolute bottom of the barrel for Federation Ships. It is the cheapest, but is small and good for transportation between most Systems. However, it isn't any good when it comes to long range due to its slower top speed. The perfect beginner ship for those that just want to get around to the closer systems and conduct trade or have some way to travel.

*Recommended Upgrades* - Weapon or Sensor Pod upgrade for **** Credits

It was not designed for long-range tactical missions. However, the ship has a decent armament for its small size, allowing it to hold its own long enough for it to escape before heavy damage is given.

Several series and variants of these ships were produced throughout the 23rd and 24th centuries, with many still serving in the fleet through the mid-2370s. The Miranda Class, while older than most ships exploring the Beta Quadrant, is tried and true, with many various types of upgrades available. While owning this ship, try to take advantage of them.

Notes
The Constitution Class Starship was one of the most reliable and legendary ships in Starfleet's history. The most famous of these ships was the original USS Enterprise captained by the equally legendary Captain James Tiberius Kirk. The Constitution Class went through a number of refits during the ship's long service record. Until the ship was finally retired from service in the late 23rd Century. However, this rest wouldn't last forever.

The continuing war with the Klingons and Romulans was battering the Federation and taking its toll on the fleet even into the early 24th Century. And ships that were once mothballed and sent into retirement were pulled out and refitted for duty once more. The tried and true Constitution Class was among those classes pulled into active duty once more, along with the Miranda, and Excelsior Classes. These vessels were brought into the 24th Century and given several significant upgrades.

Among these upgrades were the replacement of the traditional phaser banks to the modern, and more powerful, phaser strips, as well as the inclusion of an aft torpedo launcher, something that the Class had always been lacking. The older engine nacelles were upgraded to 24th Century standards, and the warp core was completely overhauled, bringing her warp capabilities up to equal standing with ships of the day. Every major system was upgraded, and rebuilt from the ground up, making the Valiant Refit a one-of-a-kind vessel compared to many other ship classes.

It is rumored that a Valiant Refit was the ship to first arrive on the scene to look for survivors of the Enterprise C, an Ambassador Class vessel, when it was destroyed protecting the Klingon Outpost at Nerandra III. And, it is also rumored that a Valiant Refit was the ship that took the first dignitaries to peace talks with the Klingon Empire after hostilities halted between the Klingons and the Federation. However, as time went on, the Valiant Refits were soon cast off to the deeper reaches of space as low key exploration vessels until the beginning of the Borg and Dominion wars where they were once again brought into service and served on the front lines, at least one ship being lost at Wolf 359.

The Valiant Refit of the Constitution Class makes it the single longest serving Starfleet Ship Class, serving even longer than the Miranda and Excelsior Classes.

Torpedo Tubes: 4
Max Volley: (6 Fore) (2 Aft)
Torpedo Types: Type 6 Photon Torpedoes
Torpedo Stock: 70 Type 6 Photon Torpedoes

Notes
When first commissioned the Intrepid-class featured many innovations then becoming available, not least being the warp core design and variable-geometry pylons that reduced damage to subspace and allowing for relatively safe travel beyond warp 5. The class was also the first to incorporate bio-neural gel packs and the Emergency Medical Hologram system. Capabilities upon introduction were equally impressive. The forward torpedo tubes are Tri-Burst photon torpedo tubes, and allows for firing of a total of 6 torpedoes each turn. The class boasted the highest top speed of any Starfleet vessel, until the development of the Prometheus-class, and the experimental "Ragnarok Class". Excess abuse of Emergency Speed (More than twice a week OOC time) will damage the warp core to uselessness as the ship is not designed to operate exclusively at such velocities.

Torpedo Tubes: 17
Max Volley: (11 or 7 or 3 Fore) (2 Port/Starboard) (6 Aft)
Torpedo Types: Type 7 Photon Torpedoes
Torpedo Stock: 150 Photon Torpedoes

Notes
The Akira-class was a class of Federation starship that was in service with Starfleet by the early 2370s. Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards was one of the sites this class was constructed at in 2371. This vessel is the horror of Lightly shielded ships, and still a frightening foe to most opposing forces. Approach an Akira Class with caution. The "Pulse Fire" Torpedo Tubes contained within the Weapons Pod of the Akira Class can fire 4 Photon Torpedoes a second, but requires three seconds to reload. This means the Akira can fire 8 torpedoes from its burst fire tubes, with one turn to reload, however due to the speed of firing, it can only target one ship at a time with this power. In addition, the burst fire tube can fire 4 torpedoes each post if not used for a full volley in the previous post.

As an added bonus, the Pulse Fire Torpedo Tubes are designed to work both with standard Photon Torpedoes and Quantum Torpedoes, thus, all a Captain needs to do in order to use Quantum Torpedoes is to upgrade his Akira with them in the hold. The first upgrade purchased grants 30 Quantum Torpedoes, and the same upgrade can be purchased again for a maximum of 60 Quantum Torpedoes to be carried aboard. In addition, the weapons pod still has 3 regular launchers which can fire every turn.

*Recommended Upgrades* - Quantum Torpedo Upgrade x2 - Fighter Squadron Upgrades

"Outlaw Class" Akira Refit

Ship Class: Outlaw Class
Primary Role: Tactical Assault Cruiser
Secondary Role(s): (None)

System Statistics
Hull: 5000

Shield Emitters: 1500
Engines: 1500
Sensors: 1200

Movement Priority of "Tier 7.5"

Warp Statistics
Cruising Speed: Warp 8

Torpedo Tubes: 8 (4 in Weapons Pod - 4 in Saucer)
Max Volley: (10 Fore/Aft)
Torpedo Types: Type 7 Photon Torpedoes
Torpedo Stock: 150 Photon Torpedoes

Notes
The Akira Class was a powerful force to be reckoned with in fleet combat scenarios, however, the large energy and resource cost of fielding multiple squadrons of attack craft, and the class's need for support in tough one-on-one battles due to its relatively pitiful phaser coverage and lacking maneuverability prompted Starfleet's Research and Development Department to create an extensively refit and upgraded version of the Akira class to make it more "stand-alone" in terms of combat.

The "Outlaw Class" Refit of the Akira removed the ship's hangar bays in favor of a larger warp core, more weaponry and more sophisticated and powerful impulse engines. Where the Akira had made due with small, mostly underpowered impulse engines, the Outlaw Class had extra thrust in spades, and performed extremely well in its testing flights, maneuvering much more like the more nimble Intrepid and Prometheus classes than its bulkier cousin.

More phasers were added with increased arcs to better facilitate the ship's ability to defend itself when broadsided, and take bigger advantage of the new maneuverability. The addition of more phasers eventually lead to the removal of the port and starboard torpedo tubes, but the "Outlaw Class" retained the Weapons Pod setup with a few minor changes. The inclusion of four Type One Burst-Fire Torpedo tubes in the pod rather than the mix of three lead to a far more devastating fore and aft volley, and the pod was modified to handle Quantum Torpedoes after a refit, but due to space conflicts, only the Weapons Pod was designed to handle the quantum torpedoes.

*Recommended Upgrades* - Quantum Torpedo Upgrade x2, Ablative Armor

Notes
The Nebula-class was a type of Federation starship that was in service in Starfleet during the latter half of the 24th century. Its design is closely related to that of the Galaxy-class. Atop the engineering hull is a superstructure which can support a variety of equipment, such as sensor platforms, additional warp nacelles, and torpedo launchers. The "Type-3 Burst Fire" Photon Torpedo Tube can fire 10 torpedoes every six seconds. This means a total of 20 per post with one post to reload for another volley. However, it can fire up to ten torpedoes each post if not used each time for its maximum volley.

Torpedo Tubes: 6
Max Volley: (4 Fore) (2 Aft)
Torpedo Types: Photon Torpedoes (Fore launchers can be upgraded to fire Quantum Torpedoes)
Torpedo Stock: 200 Photon Torpedoes

Notes
Although the "great experiment" of the transwarp drive failed to create a revolution in the nature of warp speeds and space travel, the Excelsior spaceframe was still the most advanced design in Starfleet. After prototype runs, some modifications were made, such as a different bridge structure and a different shuttlebay structure to the NCC-2000 class-ship. Several variations of the original design have continued in service up to the Dominion War. The Excelsior is a prime example of the phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." While slow and lumbering in maneuvering, it can still bloody the nose of many a starship despite its age. The Excelsior's torpedo tubes can be equipped to handle and fire Quantum Torpedo tubes. The first upgrade purchased grants 30 Quantum Torpedoes, and the same upgrade can be purchased again for a maximum of 60 Quantum Torpedoes to be carried aboard.

Notes
The Galaxy-class was a Starfleet starship first introduced in the late 2350s. It was the largest and one of the most powerful Federation starship classes of its time, with many serving in the Dominion War. Upon its time of launch, the Galaxy-class became the most technologically sophisticated and complicated ship ever built by the Federation. Few ships during the present day can compare to this majestic beauty. As with the Nebula Class, the "Type-3 Burst Fire" Photon Torpedo Tube can fire 10 torpedoes every six seconds. This means a total of 20 per post with one post to reload for another volley. However, it can fire up to ten torpedoes each post if not used each time for its maximum volley. The Galaxy Class's torpedoes can lock on and target separate targets, but only if the targets are in front of the launcher in question at a 150 degree firing cone.
