Here's a link to the article. There is more at playbill.com

http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/11/10/broadway.labor.ap/index.html

The only Broadway productions still running are Xanadu, The Ritz, Mauritius, Cymbeline, Pygmalion, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Young Frankenstein and Mary Poppins. These productions are either presented by Broadway's nonprofit sector or are housed in theatres whose contracts with Local One are separate.

As long as it's over by December 18th (date of my onstage tickets for Spring Awakening) I'm cool.

Okay, I keep reading "Strike still going on" over and over, but what I'm NOT seeing is any news about what is being done about it to end the strike. They are not even in talks it seems because the union refused to talk until the producers "respect them."

This is a little silly now. How are things going to get resolved unless they go in to talk about it? They will strike for a month and then all of Broadway will come crashing down. Seriously, the shows are loosing 17 million dollars a day, some of them will have lost a million dollars by themselves by the end of the week. Actors are getting paid a third of their usual salary and I don't think musicians are getting paid at all.

Shows are not going to be able to recover from this. You can kiss Legally Blonde goodbye as well as Rent. With the grosses they pull in on a normal week it's just enough to stay running. They won't be able to survive this.
