A leaf fell delicately down from the tree the two bodies laid under, falling slowly and landing on the male's blonde mane. His ear flicked out of reflex. A chirp of a bird slowly woke up him up, an eye opening at a time before they stared up across dirt to grass, his massive paws taking up most of his vision. He raised to his feet, pressing his front down to stretch out, letting out a feral yawn that scared off the bird that woke him. Laying down the green body back down, he noticed that Kija was still beside him. She must have been really tired.
Od... now named Uzu by this female, he nosed her lightly and licked her. Hopefully she was not dead. He slide a paw over her lightly and pressed it against her chest, oh good, her heart was still beating. Keeping himself still beside her, paws to himself, he waited for her to wake up. A slight purr in his throat to soothe her.

Kijani didn't have any dreams while she slept, which was good. Usually the dreams weren't so fun, and she would wake up in a panic, and end up running into something while int he ark, or in her confusion. Flicking her tail her eyes blinked open lazily, she was so tired she hadn't noticed Uzu give her a lick or touch her chest to see if she was still breathing. She was in a sleepy daze, but it felt good to have been able o rest well.
Yawning, with a squeak, Kijani turned her head to see Uzu, and smiled, how long had she been asleep for? "You stayed."

He nodded, "You did not want to be alone, so I stayed. You were afraid, so I thought you'd feel better if a Pride Lander stayed with you. I didn't have anywhere else to be and this is my fort so I stayed," he saw a bit of surprise in her but he didn't understand it. He was fine, he would have stayed if she didn't want him to. "You didn't want to go, so I left you here."
He nosed her again and tilted his head. "Did I wake you? You could stay here if you want, I don't mind."

Kijani smiled at him, a legitimate smile and watched him, tilted her head like she did often, a habit from when she was a cub, she had never been really ale to get rid of it, especially when she was within her last company... She shook her head, "No, I feel a lot better since I slept, thanks for not...making me leave..that was really nice of you Uzu," she said with a nod.
Uzu was so nice to her.
"I like it here, our fort is nice...green is good," she said with a soft laugh and a smile.

"Green is good, a lot of the members of my family are green. I am the only one that doesn't have my mother's swirls," he chuckled as he nosed her again. She seemed very thankful for what he did, but he saw nothing with it as it was how he would have treated anyone who came into his fort. "I am glad you are feeling better. Besides, you seemed lost so you can stay here if you wanted to, Kija."
He offered her the chance of staying here, he could come visit her everyday since he came out here everyday anywas. In fact, it was starting to feel like...
"My home... this fort is sort of like my home away from home. Just doesn't have a den to keep the cold away, huh?"

"Your family must be really nice then," Kijani said with a nod, watching him, smiling, then leaning against him. "Really?" her eyes widened somewhat at his statement, "But, I'm not part of this pride, wouldn't that be suspicious?" Kijani didn't want to stay here, then be run out of the prides borders because she wasn't a member, then she'd be alone again, and away from the only friend she ever had.
She tilted her head at him again, confused.
"Whats a den?"

Uzu tilted his head down at her. The feeling of having a female leaning against him feel weird. He knew had strong legs from climbing that tree everyday so he could protect her. Just being here, she was not alone. If he offered a place for her, she has a place to stay. But the questions she asked him were rather... unorthodox.
"My family is very nice, they are spread out though, I have not seen my siblings for a while. And my pride welcomes all rogues as long as they behave, you can stay here and not be a member, you do not have to be if you don't want to. As long as you are here, you are safe regardless. The only benefit really is that they hunt for you, which you and I can do for ourselves. And a den is a place where lions sleep at night or during the day, mostly to keep themselves from the wind or want privacy," he explained in the order of her questions. The Pride welcomed anyone and all, he saw no real point in joining the pride as they, the rogues, were perfectly capable of fending for themselves. He was only part of the pride because he was born into it. He seems to get along just fine without having to join them it seems. As for the den, he knew about them since he was a day old it seems. Strange that she did not know that. Every adolescent, rather most, staked out their territory and then their den to live on their own. Uzu was thinking about staking out the fort as his home or possibly find a den close by or make a den himself here. But what urked him was that she did not know what a common lion would know.
"Kija... where are you from? Where'd you get that scar? Who... who exactly are you?" he questioned. He nuzzled her to show her that he cared some for her, "if you want to stay here in my fort, I would like to know a little about the one I shall be living wth."

All this information was overwhelming, though it seemed like the pride here was very kind, and perhaps she could stay here, join even, stay here and have a home and maybe be safe. She felt ashamed nad stupid for not knowing something that seemed so common, so she looked down,a dn swept a paw against the grass blades beneath it.
Uzu nuzzled her, and she closed her eyes, stay here with him?
That'd be-well, that'd be nice.
"I don't know exactly, I lived with another male...he wouldn't let me leave, there were others, some were green, seemed nice, but he wouldn't let me talk to them, be near them or anyone but him...he had me sleep on a rock before...no where else...he said it was a..pedestal I think?" She frowned, didn't look up, "One night I went to go talk with the green lions and lionesses like me, some had spots like me, had a brighter green pelt then me. But before I could say anything-he came and found me, and hurt me...so I ran away."
Sometimes Kijani wondered if one of hte green lions had been her mother or father...

Uzu purred and nuzzled her. So now he knew a little more about her. Unknown if she wanted to delve a little deeper, he wanted her to be able to talk to him about it a little more comfortably until it was not painful anymore. He nosed her softly and giving her a soft lick. He cared for her as he would any friend of his, his gestures were those of more but he knew no better. He saw his family, mostly his parents, do them so he thought it was alright. He gave a slight smile.
"So this male was somewhat possessive over you. If I had to guess, he did the same thing to these other green lions and lionesses like you. Seeing as they have spots and you have spots. Seeing as they were green and you are green, I have to say they could be family or something. Whoever this male was... he wasn't someone you wanted or care for since you are now here with me," he purred softly to try to comfort her. "Can you tell me anymore?"
Uzu knew he was pressing on her, but he wanted her to talk about it. He wanted her to get this out of her and letting him know, lighten her burden on her shoulder and conscience.
"I am here to listen and help, after all, what are friends for?"

"He was like that with everyone there," Kijani said softly, eyes watching him, she smiled though, it seemed easier to talk about it when she wasn't worried about him coming out from behind her to hurt her again. "I don't know, if they were family but, I can't remember anything about my family, only him being there..." her voice trailed off a little, she didn't really have a cub-hood at all, just chores to do whenever he said so.
"Umm, he was dark pelted, not green like you Uzu, and seemed angry all the time. He'd tell me to do things, and if I didn't he'd hurt me. I'd have to catch my own food, like mice, and umm...I didn't like him," she leaned against Uzu's shoulder, sighed and took a breath.
"I just don't want to be alone, or be somewhere where he could find me..."

"He sounds like a very dominant male... perhaps he was a pride leader who wanted nothing but respect and loyalty from his subjects. Without taking no as an answer and demands his desires to be fulfilled... by the sounds of, it sounds like someone I would not like be living under," he smiled a little and looked over at her, she seemed comfortable where she was, he was not gonna force her to move or leave. After all, he did offer her to stay here if she preferred.
He purred softly, "You aren't alone, Kija, you could stay here with me so he can't find you and you'd be here with me. You won't be alone and the Pride Lands are a very safe place to be; if we suspect someone of being harmful in any way, he will get them out. I trust the queen knows what she is doing and her best interest are for those who live here. As long as you live here, you will be fine. If you feel the need to join us, then you must talk to the queen herself..."

"The queen?" she said in a squeak, ducking down ears swiveling forward, "Oh, I don't know if I could do that, I don't know," she said closing her eyes shaking her head. She was already nervous enough around Uzu, a queen? Most certainly not, least not now, she wasn't comfortable with that idea, not at all, not yet. Flicking her tail she peered around, sat up again, and leaned against Uzu and smiled.
This place seemed nice.
"Are there a lot of other green members like you Uzu?" she asked curiously.

"Well, to join us, you'll need to talk to the queen, Kija. But like I said, I do not see a point in it myself because I can hunt for myself. The only reason I can think of is to be with other lions, but you seem a little too shy for that many right now," He licked the top of her head and rested against the tree, sliding down onto his lower back. He did not mind it too much as he recline against the tree with prime view of the open sky.
The sky was nice, there seems to be signs of trouble anywhere. Today was going to be a good one.
"Well, the only ones I can think of are my family. To be honest with you, Kija, I do not really get to meet others of the pride other than my family. I love this fort... I just feel weird leaving it..."

Kijani watched him and moved to sit next to him, and peered up at the sky as well, the sky was so blue here, so,so blue, it was wonderful. "I think your right, not yet..." but being within the safety of a Prideland was reassuring. Her teal eyes looked around, everything seemed so green, so nice.
His family?
"I bet they are all nice, your family, I wonder how many green lions there are in the world. I bet they are all nice," she said with a smile. This fort was his home, he was attached.
"Then this fort is your home, you like it here, so I think I'll like it too."

He tilted his head over at her, looking into her eyes. She liked it here. She liked the fort. The Pride Lands were a safe place to be for any rogue. If she stayed here with him, she would not be alone. She did have his parents and siblings if they were around. He licked her chin softly.
"Would you like to stay here?... With me?"
