Single Battle! This should be interesting! >DRyou vs. Aeon! Enemies since meeting, who will triumph? Will Aeon get revenge on the dark-type, or will Ryou put the Raichu in his place?

Battleground Selection!
The screen towering above the stadiums' bleachers began to rotate clockwise to determine what field the pokemon would fight on. Anticipation began to build as the dial began to slow down...
Finally, it came to a complete stop.
The field of choice was....THE GRASS FIELD!
The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land.

Battle....START!
The official for the matched stepped up the plate, his blue-black uniform visual under the brilliant florescent lights of the stadium. Clutching a flag in each hand, the young man glanced left and right before making the announcement to start. The deep voice echoed through the headset microphone and rang out from the stadium speakers.
"This is an official stadium match! Each trainer may use only one pokemon each! There is no time limit! Are both trainers ready?"
At the confirming nods from both pokemon and trainer, he flicked both flags into the air; once both flags moved south, the battle could officially begin.

Kazuki stepped onto the western half of the field, pressing the center buttons on two pokeballs simultaneously. The two flashes of bright light formed into two separate pokemon; a fluffy Seel, and a slightly-irritated Umbreon. He had spoken to them before about this battle, and so as soon as the white light disappeared, the Umbreon trotted forward several paces to take his place. He got into a battle-ready stance, his ears flicking backwards, and his tail whipping back and forth in an irritated manner as he glared at the opposite end of the field.

As Jen stepped onto the eastern side of the field, she too grabbed two pokeballs from their holders and enlarged them. The two flashes of red light that emerged quickly took shape into two pokemon; one was a veteran to the battleground, the other was still a novice.
Two rookies...two veterans.....this was going to be an exciting battle.
Aya gave a soft snort of worry and pawed at the ground as Aeon, seeing who his opponent was, bounced towards center-field with sparks flying from his cheeks. As he too took a battle-ready stance, Jen gently stroked her ponyta who nuzzled her hand in return.
"Don't worry, Aya. Everything is going to be fine; just watch Aeon, okay? Think of this battle as......your test." Aya curiously flicked both of her ears towards her trainer with question in her multi-colored eyes. "It'll come when you step onto the field, Aya."

"All right... Ryou, use shadow ball!" Zuki called, his stomach performing flip-flops. He half wondered if Ryou would just go all-out and disregard his instructions, but he knew the Umbreon understood what was going on and what was at stake.
"Breee.." The Umbreon said, pinning his ears to his skull. The golden ring on his forehead glowed dark blue as three small ping-pong ball-sized orbs materialized in front of his sightless eyes. They began to spin in a circle, slowly at first but quickly gained in both speed and size. When they grew to the size of large baseballs, the dark-type let out a snarl and loosed the balls of dark energy. Each orb hurtled off in a different direction, each curving its path and shooting towards the Raichu at the opposite end of the field. Ryou had his misgivings about using this attack first; it didn't always do as well at long distances unless the other pokemon wasn't looking.

"Sorry Zu-Zu, but that ain't gunna work like it did in the hotel! Aeon, dodge them!" Despite his hatred for the Umbreon, the Raichu wasn't going to disregard his trainer's commands.
"Rai!" Getting down on all fours, Aeon used an usual techinque for a pokemon of his evolution; darting around the attack with a Quick attack, his speed made it seem like the pokemon was in several places at once. Several people in the audience were getting dizzy, from what Jen saw out of the corner of her eye.
"Strike Aeon!" While still running at full speed, Aeon darted so he was in a point-blank path towards the elder pokemon.

Zu-Zu? The trainer thought with a confused look on his face, but quickly shook his head as he saw the Raichu speeding towards Ryou. "Look out!"
Ryou's ears twitched as he heard his trainer, his concentration faltering because of the interruption. As a result, the speeding ball of fur that was Aeon came up on him too fast, and he hadn't enough time to dodge completely. Ryou attempted to jump to the side but too late; the Raichu collided with his side and the Umbreon was sent sprawling to the side.
With a low growl the dark-type jumped back to his feet, already charging his next attack. The golden ring around his forehead began to glow dark blue, as did his eyes. With complete disregard to Kazuki, forgetting the trainer was even there, the Umbreon summoned a pinpoint dot of purple energy which floated right in front of his forehead. After a short moment it swelled to ten times it size, not quite as large as a basketball, but still rather large. He bared his fangs, snarling as he shot a hate-filled glare towards the Raichu before sending the ball of psychic energy hurtling towards his opponent.

"Uh-oh....one attack and that pokemon has already snapped..." Returning her attention back to the battle, Jen saw and felt the massive amount of psychic energy that the Umbreon was forming.
"Aeon! Let's Pinball it! HYPER BEAM!"
Aeon was also startled at the massive attack; what his trainer wanted to do was risky....but it was the only real idea she could come up with to counter it. Opening his mouth and bracing himself, a powerful amber light began to gather in his mouth.....
He waited for a split second before releasing his own attack right at the sphere of dark energy. The two collided and actually.....joined? Unfortunately, both couldn't sustain the others' energy....the end result? A motion sensor bomb was pustling in the middle of the field and it could go off at any-
BAM!
Aeon was thrown backwards by the resulting shockwave and explosion, smacking against his trainer and sending them both flying backwards a few feet. The Raichu and Jen groaned and stood up; good thing they cusioned one another.
Stepping back onto the field, Aeon slipped into his battle-ready position as Jen stood on the eastern field side again. "Well.....that was certainly interesting, eh Zu-Zu?"

Ryou was caught completely off-guard by the timebomb in the center of the field, and therefore was flung backwards and landed sprawled on the grass. Kazuki toppled backwards from the force of the blow, but quickly jumped up as fast as his knees would permit, and looked towards the Umbreon nearby. "Ryou! Are you okay?"
Completely disregarding his trainer's presence, the Umbreon remained sprawled on the grass for a few moments, his sightless eyes closed, as he merely pondered on his next move. Every ring on his body glowed a vibrant dark blue, vaguely seeming to pulse every so often. "(Clever,)" he said, as dark blue rippling waves formed around his paws. "(Very clever, but that is not enough to stop me.)" In an instant his eyes snapped open, glowing the same dark blue as the rings adorning his body, and he sprung into the air. He managed a flip before landing hard on the grass beneath him, forcing several waves of rippling dark energy shooting towards Aeon. "(Let's just try to see you avoid my dark pulse,)" the Umbreon said with a smirk, ears pinned to his skull as he kept his gaze aimed at his opponent.

Aeon growled at the taunting words by the elder pokemon; what was the phrase...."Never disrespect your elders?" Well, time to completly throw that into the garbage.
Dashing forward, Aeon had been just about to pounce on the other when the wave of dark-blue light sent him flying backwards....right into his trainer. Both hit the ground and tumbled a few feet before coming to a complete stop.
"Ow.....AEON! Don't rush right into battle! How many times have I told you that?!" Standing and brushing herself off, Jen ushered the pokemon back onto the field. "Now then.....Giga Impact!"
Giga What?! Oh what.....he knew that attack! He had learned it yesterday from a tm that his trainer had bought. Fists glowing a delicate blue-green, Aeon swiftly jumped and, posistioning himself, launched back towards the ground with his fist held out infront of him.
He hit the ground and a shockwave echoed out from all sides from the epicenter, tearing up small chunks of the soft earth as the blast charged outwards.

Giga what? The Umbreon blinked; whatever it was, it sounded bad. He pinned his ears back before leaping backwards a bit, landing squarely in front of the shockwave. The force of the blast sent Ryou flying backwards, hitting the far wall before slumping to the floor.
Kazuki ran over to the dark-type, putting his hand on Ryou's shoulder. "Are you okay, Ryou?" He asked hesitantly. Ryou's eyes and rings began to glow dark blue as he pinned his ears against his head, growling loudly, and Kazuki quickly pulled his hand away. He thought quickly, lest the dark-type begin to completely ignore him. "Try shadow ball again, Ryou."
He growled, jumping forward and bolting onto the field again. As he ran, several pinpoint dots of black energy formed and began spinning around him in a circle, swiftly growing in size to dark-colored baseballs. With a snarl he halted, blasting each shadow ball towards Aeon. They all bounced off in different directions, though each one curved its path and headed straight for the electric-type.

Aeon gave an evil cackle as his tail waved from side to side in anticipation for his opponent's next move. Faint electricity build-up was seen on the thunderbolt at the end of his whip-like tail as the dark-type made another move.
"AEON! JUMP and AVOID!"
Jumping upwards, the shadow ball technique sailed past below and hit the steel wall, causing a burn shot-mark to appear in it's place. Glancing back at the slightly-smoking reminder, Aeon's ears pinned backwards agianst his head: This time......oh boy, time to avoid getting incinerated.
Whipping around, the electricity built-up in his tail traveled towards the pouches behind his cheeks. He crouched and waited.....
"Thunder!"
"RAICHU!" A barrage of lightning shot towards the dark-type.

Ryou could tell from the different sounds in the stadium that his attack had missed. Infuriated, the dark-type bared his pointy teeth, ears pinned to his skull. Thunder? Oh crap. With a snarl, Ryou covered himself in dark energy, hoping to form some sort of shield against the attack.
It hit him head-on, though the dark energy managed to absorb at least part of the blow. However, the electric attack crashing into and thus destroying the make-shift shield caused a cloud of smoke to shroud the Umbreon.
Several moments passed with the smoke, oddly enough, not going anywhere. Suddenly, the center of the cloud began to twist in a circle, as if some sort of whirlwind or twister were affecting it. A moment later, a huge beam of amber light shot outwards, the hyper beam heading straight for Aeon.

Ears twitching at the other pokemon as the shroud surrounded him, the pokemon darted off as the bright amber beam shot towards his previous position.
Running around to gather speed, the electric pokemon planned to avoid anymore attacks that Ryou send in his direction. However, luck did not last forever....the battle vetern knew this fact, and the scars were a burning reminder.
Doing an about-face, Aeon darted towards the dark-type pokemon as the shroud cleared as the white aura of the Quick Attack glowed even brighter with the speed he had achieved.
